I started off worried about the updates because it really seemed like more stick than carrot incentives, but seeing the absolute screeching and moaning has made me solidly support them, not just to be contrarian. It absolutely IS the right direction to go in to incentivize spreading hooks, give basekit bonuses especially to regression for it. It's the best case scenario that they even acknowledged that they have to to a two pronged attack on this issue, reward non-consecutive hooks AND heavily disincentivize consecutive ones. They've been creating this janky patchwork gameplay of different punishments and incentives from different times with different design philosophies all slapped together incoherently. Do we fix core gameplay issues with perks or with core gameplay changes? We give killers regression perks and survivors antitunnel but then years later decide they need to add anti-camp too, and limit regression. Competing design philosophies. What 9.2 is is GETTING THEIR SHIT TOGETHER and acknowledging that some core incentives need to be baked into the game, and taking a unified approach to it. Can't have anti-tunnel without basekit gen defense, basekit help catching the less vulnerable survivors. This is actually what everyone has been BEGGING for. It's just a matter of getting the numbers right. Standardization of bonuses based on killer tiers.The ONLY thing they need to do to make this perfect is add "tiers" to the fresh hook bonuses, just as there are terror radius and move speed "tiers." A stat you can see in the killer bio, which is a multiplier to the bonuses.>4.6 move speed>32 meter terror radius>high entity favor (or "pressure" or "sadism" whatever you want to style it as)When that is standardized it actually becomes an incredible tool for balancing killers without having to rework their entire gameplay, bump them up or down a tier, so they get more or less basekit help. Even as an intermediary tweak when a killer is under or over performing.

Like, bringing luck to get yourself on second stage and playing around that? Also wouldn't it eliminate the downside of shoulder the burden? Eat a hook and take another from somebody else and bam you're on death hook. You can't really punish them by hooking them because it'll trigger the anti-tunnel if it's at that stage.

I don't know the new survivor's perks. -the debuff and scary sound effect that shows when your aura is being read in 2v8 is being made baseline to 1v4, but only for the new baseline bbq mechanic-premonition is being reworked to always show you when your aura has been revealed with this debuff and sound effect by any means-tenacity is going to let you crawl even faster than before, faster than the new anti-slug mechanic will let you, and right away at max speed. it looks really silly like how hackers look when crawling super fast-lucky break, off the record, etc, are all just going to give you elusive under different conditions now. iron will is untouched. low profile is gaining the additional effect of adding some large amount of additional time to any elusive effect you gain including itself-the 90 second anti-slug meter will not build and also cannot be used to pick yourself up even when full if you down yourself with plot twist or conviction. conviction isn't being changed. -unbreakable is being reworked to fill the anti-slug meter much faster. you can no longer pick yourself up with it. it still fills your recovery bar faster. -shadowstep boon is being reworked to just give survivors elusive in range of it

I know this because it's happened to me because our hitboxes overlapped by a pixel.If BHVR is smart, they'll make the intangibility also mean they can't be hit and deep wounded. Make being unhooked make you unhittable for 5 seconds, more than enough time for a killer to hit any intended target. However, BHVR is not smart so killers will just have to deal with it.
