After playing a bit more, I don't mind Destiny: Rising. I think it did a better job at being Destiny than Bungie did, just like another anon said it would make me realize how badly Bungie messed up--they did bigly and I think they should've continued on the line of Destiny 1.The game needs to be polished though, it feels sloppy on some environment constructions, the movements sometimes clumsy but both seem fairly alright when you consider it's a game for mobile. If there is something that makes me reluctant to play more is the gacha feeling to it, where you either do activities every day or you are going to miss out. And I'm not sure if I can hold that kind of grind again (played Genshin Impact).

Rolling for characters doesnt really work for me and doesn't fit the games story or art style. They should have had it so instead of characters, you roll for different armor sets to equip for Wolf, who can be more customizable. Instead of a named character, an SR/SRR gets you an armor base, which is equipped and leveled up like characters currently are, a helmet that can be worn with any base, and a slew of face customization options for Wolf representing the "character" in the gacha

The red war was the largest loss of human life in a long time in the setting, and centurions stand around the tower because of a non aggression pact and one of our military leaders becoming a token military prize.

In Beyond Light you hear from various activity dialogues that Mithrax established the House of Light in the city, opposed to Eramis and her newly discovered House Salvation worshipping the Darkness, and you help dissenters from Salvation escape Europa and join Mithrax. Then the Season of Splicer comes, with an unknown Vex Simulation somehow distorting reality around the City to plunge it into a permanent night and also sap its power supply. The Vanguard forces the City to accept House of Light because Mithrax is now a Fallen Hackerman who can interact with the Vex network, and his expertise can help. (1/2)

Osiris gives Lakshmi a Vex device that allegedly was supposed to 'throw all Fallen out of the City' but instead opened a Vex portal so that the Vex could invade the City itself (Savathun was posing as Osiris and used these events to forge an alliance between humans and Fallen for her own benefit). Lakshmi dies as the Vex invade from her device and kill her first. These events also officially removed the factions. The Future War Cult is officially disbanded, its members are exiled or left the faction because they were disgusted with Lakshmi's actions (but here was an interesting lore card about a Fallen weaver from Lakshmi's past, she saw him as an invader when the Fallen were sacking London). Dead Orbit took their ships and fucked off. New Monarchy was partially complicit in Lakshmi's machinations and left with DO. (2/2)

Kinda weird how Bungie abandoned patrol spaces. As a newbie, I already felt it during Forsaken release, as I was snooping around Dreaming City, uncovering all these cool locations specific secrets, yet 90% of them were just giving me random blue crap and few local resources.It was pretty much useless already on its release.They are really stupid, huh? Just imagine, putting colossal effort toward the location, spending likely months to flesh it out with neat little secrets, events and hidey holes, and for what? To do nothing with it? Just a little content isles, all separate from each other and 99% of it outdated and abandoned. So much budget blown away just to never utilize is properly in a gameplay loop?And that pretty much continued on for 7+ years. It really felt that there is no vision behind this game, no one autistic enough to actually care about underlying systems and direct the team.
