>>537473827It is. Muv-Luv is a special case though so I'm going to explain what it is. Muv-Luv is a trilogy of three games. The first two (Extra and Unlimited) are packaged together under the title Muv-Luv. The third game is separate and called Muv-Luv Alternative. The first game (Extra) is a standalone high-school comedy moege, though it's a very good one. Reading it is important, and you have to read all of the routes because it will matter later. In the second game (Unlimited) the MC wakes up in an alternate dimension in which the Earth has been invaded by a species of aliens that have annihilated most of humanity, who is waging a losing war against them using mecha robots. This one is still relatively light-hearted since it serves as a setup for Alternative. I won't say what Alternative is plot-wise, but it's a very long VN in itself and the final part of the story, and it's the part that's going to give you what you're looking for, especially if you need to have an attachment to the characters, which is built up very effectively over the previous games. That being said! This is a huge time investment. It's worth it, though, IMO.

I absolutely hate western mechs Whenever I even play star wars RTS games, I scrap the walkers for the "traditional tank" like the IFT-X Western mechs are muthafucking slow AF!!!!!!!
