Whoops, didn't realize a new thread got made
Feels bad knowing NMS fans have to latch onto our general since they don't have their own
>>537523950They don't need one. They just meet up in game and play together. must be fun
Cyberpunk is teasing another fucking dlc...
>>537525095If it doesn't let me spend more time with Panam or adds 3rd person, I honestly couldn't give a shit
>>537524158But NMS has no Sarah tier companions...
>>537524158I'm not a believer in games getting better with friends I felt the same level of boredom when I played it with friends. The gameplay loop doesn't have an end goal really just collect resources and jump from one planet to another
>>537526060Never will because there are no genders in NMS, it's a completely non-binary inclusive experience
>>537527837Then they should make a non-binary alien race where everyone is a space blonde to fill my harem.
Starfield is a disaster
Starfield needs natural disasters
>>537529120Imagine driving around Akila and a tornado touches down, killing the fauna and possibly you as well if you get too close
>>537528203Maybe someone will mod the following into that game one day1. Sarah Morgan2. Samus Aran3. Juno Eclipse4. Cora Harper5. Rosalina6. Maria Robotnik7. Olivia Rhodes
Given the mod scene, Starfield could have been the Fortnite of the sci fi genre. A place where all universes and franchises could converge. Deals with Paramount and Disney could have had Star Trek and Star Wars and doctor Who folded into its universe. Its not like any of it would have clashed with any of the "lore" that already exists.
>>537532038I can sense that several anons hurt themselves cringing at the thought of that
>>537532463Starfield = no fun allowed
>>537521116Isn't she run through and womb barren? What type of man wants to fuck such a woman?
>>537523731Starfield's next update will fix everything. Todd's just building hype by not talking about it while simultaneously burning down his studio and other IPs.
>>537539016We know she's had multiple bisexual relationships in the past, but we don't know how many of them she's actually fucked. She's definitely not a virgin though>womb barrenThere's no mention of her not being able to have kids, but she is in her 40s though, so be wary of that if don't want to risk bringing another Chris Chan into the world.
>>537523731it's so fucking over
The creation kit dropped forever ago. Why do mods still feel like they are pre kit drop?
>>5375413451. Because most of the good stuff is paywalled2. Because the CK is still missing some features

I wonder how feasible it would be to mod in enemy filled mobile based crawlers on some planets
Amelia Earhart is begging to ride my big cockpit
>>537542897Just tried it and it works with first person perfectly while third person struggeles from jarring animations and the lack of movement slides. Not sure if I want to keep it even though it feels pretty good to use in first person.
>>537546270Combining it with the Locomotion Innovation mod is a recipe for chaos. I think normal movement works just fine.
>>537547756looks like all of those Burgerland football footwork drills paid off
Oh boy...
>>537523731>worse ground combat>(somehow) worse space combat>worse exploration>no companions>worse story/quests (again, somehow)>mod scene is basically just removing annoying features from the base game>9 years of updates that haven't touched the base games problems only thing NMS does better than Starfield is being able to fly from planet to planet in a solar system but even that is stupid because it's basically just a time sink.other than memes I really don't get how anyone can think NMS is better than Starfield.
>>537550248Friendslop

>>537573662Not yet, but the Gergal Ebanex author is looking into it.
Starfield will be played soon.
Seems like NMS doesn't really have much worth talking about right now besides the comparisons to Starfield. All I see is people boasting about how much better it is
>>537575062No shit. There's nothing interesting in their world and that's saying something in /stag/
>>537575062Better lore, better base building, actual settlement system to operate settlements, now shipbuilding, pets, pet breeding, better exploration, better worlds, multiplayer if you want it.Honestly I started it up for the first time with the recent update and holy hell. $24 to beat everything about starfield.
>>537576873>Better loreYou don't need to lie to make a point. You could go the easy route and post the player count or something.
>>537577186I know which table I'm choosing
>>537577395>sit at the girls table>all they do is gossip and talk about the mundaneUnless you're "one of the gals" so to speak, don't let your dick betray you into thinking you're going to get that much enjoyment out of hanging out with them
>>537577145You don't like reading about the 3 different races and the red entity? What led to the universe being this way?
>>537578375I was about to say that I'll sit with Omari
how can i change robin's appearance? the cacao mod doesn't seem to apply to her, and skinthetica fucking crashes all the time
>>537579273Get CharGenMenu, save your appearance first and create your own version of her then open the console and type capp
>>537576873Problem is that NMS has no humans and the settlements are not really better.
>>537580045sorry you can't goon I guesssettlemennts are neat, building it up, sending them on missions, keeping sentinels at bayDid I mention I have a fleet of frigates I also send on missions and can fly into and mess about in?
crimson fleet wishes they had a dreadnought
>>537577145BEHOLD!!! STARFIELD LORE!
>>537578379I like NMS, and reading about the 3 main races and the 4th 'other' race is neat but it loses engagement with the revelation that within the setting it's all a simulation. One that's happened before and will happen again.Though I have the same problem with starfield's story. Nothing really matters because it's apparently reset at least a few thousand times and will reset an infinity more (or at least until every Starborn becomes too insane or disfunctional from endless NewGame+s to reach the unity)
>>537580706There aren't any characters in nms. The civilizations also make 0 sense.
spacewhale
>>537581587unity was a big letdown for meI asked who made the unity, who are the creators and got hit with "Yep, creators create."Deep lore.
>>537582015It's called a mystery smoothbrain. Ever seen 2001?
>>537582258I'm sorry Dave, No fun allowed in the starfield.
>>537581587Honestly NMS and Starfield both sound like they're ripping off some aspects of The Matrix with the whole repeating cycles thing
>>537582015No answer would be more interesting or exiting than the feeling of wanting to know.
>>537582015If you're the type that likes to think hard, sometimes the lore works best when you know little about it and it leaves you with enough unfilled holes for you to make your own interpretations. it's one of the things that makes Zelda's lore in particular so interesting, because we don't even know that much about the Three Golden Goddesses and the Sacred Realm.

Todd Howard could write NMS lore in his sleep but Sean Murray would never write Vae Victis even if he tried and got high off LSD
>>537588132>what if space hitler!
>>537589701You make me feel smart
>>537589701He's more like a space bomber Harris that got thrown under the bus.
>>537589701Honestly Vae might be more comparable to Osama bin Laden than Hitler.
>>537575062I think a lot of people just wanted starfield to be NMS with more story and character interactions. They finally accepted that isn't what it will ever be and and now that NMS has taken one of the big features starfield had they are just going back to it.
>>537589701He's more known for brutal war time tactics than any perceived racism or hatred for an ethnicity. He's more like a William T Sherman.
Sarah's milf feet...
>>537591123That and bombing his own troops/civilians, destroying one of the 3 major UC population centers. Arguably he killed more UC citizens/civilians than the FC did, if you don't count FC's commerce raiding that pushed the UC to starvation.
>>537593174>boming his own troopsWas that supposed to be some great military strategy? The guy sounds like a fucking idiot.
>>537593550iirc, he did this to contain the Terrormorphs and to prevent information about the Lazarus plant from getting out. You can imagine how much things would get out of hand if the opposing factions learned about it and attempted to raise and control Terrormorphs for Xenowarfare purposes, but ended up getting themselves fucked over considering how these things can emit a pheromone that can cause humans to enter a state of psychosis.
>>537593550Officially it was to prevent the Terramorphs from stealing the evacuation ships and conquering the galaxy, or something like that. But really he was killing everyone on the colony to prevent the secret of the Terramorph life cycle (that plant that turns leeches into morphs instantly) from escaping. This and his association with the Xeno bioweapons project are the only mentions in the game of what he did during the war. He does not, nor any other character in the game, mention any military other military action he was involved in.He gets blamed for the use of xeno bioweapons on civilian population centers which is why he was supposed to be executed. It's not explained in game why anyone thought that Terramorphs could steal and operate spaceships.

As much as it'll probably hurt down the line when the fancy AIO edition comes out,I think I might just get the base game the next time it all goes up on sale, rather than the edition with Shattered Space.

Playing through Ass Creed 4 again since it's on sell through Steam. Kinda giving me an idea for a Starfield mod I'd like to see someone make someday.1. Indigenous tribe on a planet's tropical biome who are the descendants of centuries old explorers who got marooned there2. Comes with a few gear the player can use, such as a headdress, hatchet melee weapon, and a poison dart gun (might not be possible with the tools we have to make them blow darts)
>>537650970awful
>>537651163You're only saying that because it's Starfield
>>537651242and if it were any other game, you wouldn't be thinking of ways to improve it
>>537651315NTA but every game could use improvements
>>537651587not as much as Starfield and you know it
>>537649538
>>537651315I only supplied the basis of it. We could all contribute some ideas to help improve it. Maybe have a dungeon area that's heavily puzzle and platforming oriented similar to Tomb Raider games, filled with deadly traps with some leading to instadeath. Maybe also give you the option to find the crash site of the ship and obtain some unique gear in there as well. We could also stand to add some lore behind the tribe.
>>537652006just make them the tribe from fallout 2. you can wipe them out and steal the vault 13 jumpsuit
>>537651827Starfield is doing too many things at once so that's given. If the scope was smaller and didn't aim for the skies then yeah, there won't be a need for a lot of improvements because people gave up on the idea of the game being anything but what it aimed for.
>>537652006Actually that'd be pretty cool. I'm pretty sure there's a couple of Trek episodes like that. Make it something like Shattered Space - a planet with a large area where the tribe(s) have settled, they have their own petty drama. You have to decide whether to get involved, or leave them to their stupid primal squabbling. Or try to uplift them. Do you dilute their culture? Do you help preserve it from the third party that wants to displace them for their resources? Do you nuke them from orbit?Goddmamit, Todd. This wasn't even that hard

>>537657165That guy is Starfield's legacy. The chance of this game pulling a NMS or CP2077 is close to zero, so he will be what people think of when someone mentions this game in 2-3years.
>>537657863I never heard of him before Starfield, and I've not seen him since. He'll be riding it for as long as he can, I think.

>>537652989>>537655098Something that'd have been nice is if there was some kind of 'procedural smooth out hull' button which would automatically fill the gaps between the modules so ships would look like a unified hull instead of a bunch of modules stuck together.Still want stairs or an elevator for a large ship though. Or some kind of anti-gravity vertical tube since gravity on the ships is entirely artificial.

>>537671257No I'm playing
>>537669786He still won though
>>537680030No he didn't, companies are still putting pronouns into their games to this day. NMS particular takes this a step further and refers to almost every NPC as they/them
>>537680485That must be confusing as hell, they/them sisters should be one in a thousand not everywhere
>>537681219It's more natural in the case of aliens which reproduce asexually. Humans have two genders tho and everything else is California mental illness.
>>537680485Very bad example. Pronoun games are bombing left and right costing the gaming industry billions. Meanwhile, sexy waifu games are printing money on much smaller budgets.
>>537682657BG3 is a success though.
>>537683526That's the only recent exception to the rule. Also 90% of players played as a straight white male which Larian raged about.
>>537687025Cyberpunk, basically every modern game with a character creator
>>537688987There were worse things people were worried about going on with Cyberpunk initially than an issue with pronouns. Bugs up the wahzoo (still can't over cars suplexing people and that t-posing on motorcycle bug where your pants went missing, lol), performance issues to the point where people couldn't even run it on 7th gen consoles, a bunch of cut content, etc.
>>537688987Cyberpunk bombed though and they had to spend years and millions trying to win people back.Wokeness is a liability for every game that has it, and that is objective fact because woke (mentally ill) people only exist in large numbers on social media, they're completely irrelevant outside of that. Starfield's biggest complaint (aside from the fact that the gameplay is shit) is that the whole universe is completely sterile. If they had fucked off the shitty writing team, got some straight white guys in to write the story, and had sexy women/big boobs, this game wouldn't have failed. You know this but I'm interested to see what you're cope will be.

Watching video games essays is dimwit behavior. You can't articulate for yourself so you have to rely on other people to spoonfeed an opinion. Just like that anon who uses chatgpt for his arguments.
>got the mod that allows you to change people's appearances in the in-game editor>immediately make my entire crew white>make all the females dramatically more attractive>Andreja now has a decent haircut and looks great>game doesn't suck nowImagine starfields sales if they had just made the characters attractive from the start.Yes I've whitewashed barret.

>>537760058Yes they aren't desperate like Fallout 4 they sure as hell don't need your outpost
>>537756338Sometimes its good to hear someone else put into words what you're already feeling. I knew something was seriously wrong with Starfield and watching video essays from people who have clearly played the game was a good way for me to realise there isn't just one thing wrong with it.
>>537756338Disregarding serious arguments by informed opinions is dimwit behavior. Starfield shills always move the goalposts.>They haven't even played it!>They haven't even played it for long enough!>Trusting video essays by someone who played it for long enough is dumb!
>>537760681The key phrase to consider is "results may vary". The problem with video essays is that they may not even account for your own play style, you might have a genuinely different experience from those players, similar to how some anons find No Man's Sky boring despite all those shills screaming how it's the best game ever since it's most recent update.
>>537761167>The problem with video essays is that they may not even account for your own play styleSo you never actually watched any of these videos? Because a lot of them account for different playstyles. People who take the time to make an 8 hour scripted video essay aren't that stupid.
>>537761317The problem is the only "playstyle" that Starfield caters to is absolutey brain-off mindless looting and shooting and clicking on plants. I don't know what playstyle that is but its fucking stupid.
>>537761734>looting and shootinggunplay is meh and most chests and crates i lockpick have nothing in them. so it doesn't cater to that either frankly.
>>537761317There are billions of different people in the world, it's virtually impossible to account for what they're all thinking and the actions they'll take in life. However in this case, the person who made the video essay was at least right about people like you.
>>537762303>the person who made the video essay was at least right about people like you.How would you know? You didn't even watch it. Why should I accept your opinion? You didn't watch enough of the video. You have to watch at least 80% of it before your opinion is valid and even then we'll find some other reason to disregard it.
>>537760681If you're smart enough you can do that yourself >>537761101I'm just mocking your lack of self articulation. And the so called informed opinions are misguided at best given how emotionally driven they are.>Acshually Bethesda bad now because no design documents You can easily dismiss that argument since the devs went forward and said the opposite while the author of that argument is emotionally driven and he still thinks the idea of Bethesda in his head exists somewhere. Only if they took out Emil the whole studio will be saved!
>>537762492>the author of that argument is emotionally drivenThe author of that took it from Emil who said it in a video that you can find and watch. I don't know what's emotional about that. But Emil then changed his tune after the backlash, because of course you have a fucking design document. THAT'S emotional. Anyway. You're talking out of your ass.
Starfield is a catastrophe
>>537762637Took it from old interviews where he was talking about Skyrim. Maybe he should've used that poorly attached argument in his Skyrim video. Mind you I didn't watch any of his videos but I'm well informed given how much you're parroting his slop.
>>537762743>Mind you I didn't watch any of his videos but I'm well informed given how much you're parroting his slopYour back must hurt from moving the goalposts so much lmao
>>537762396I'm not going to watch it because I would get bored of it and I'm not a tool, I don't really need people to tell me why I should like or dislike Starfield. I've already experienced the game first hand and have already formed my own stubborn opinions about it.
>>537762803You can't refute what I said. You should be thankful I'm being honest in this argument.
>>537762817>my own stubborn opinions about itBut they're wrong?
>I'm not emotional!>*proceeds to make 200 hours videos about Bethesda*>*proceeds to write 200 lengthy replies about Bethesda*Mind you these are the same people who want to get Emil killed just because of electronic toys. Anything but my vidya.
>>537762884But anon! Don't you see? You're just parotting the opinions of all those redditors and delusional morons in this thread! You don't have your own opinion! You're just repeating all that mindless stupid wrong think you expose yourself to in your little echo chamber!
>>537762905They're wrong from your perspective, but from mine, it's merely subjective.
>>537763068Point me to the post where someone said the exact same argument >>537762743
>>537763042>>*proceeds to make 200 hours videos about Bethesda*>>*proceeds to write 200 lengthy replies about Bethesda*You ever get so mad you accidentally make an eight hour long video essay? No, that takes planning and effort and work. Now, responding to people disagreeing with you online? THAT can be done out of emotion. Easily. not to mention that bald baby man who screamed about pronouns. THAT'S fucking emotional
>>537763206>You ever get so mad you accidentally make an eight hour long video essay? There's a motive. For all we know he could be a jew who wants to profit of Bethesda fags but that's way too much effort for an apathetic person.
>>537763186I'm talking about your fucking opinion about this game you fucking idiot. Learn to fucking comprehend.
>>537763331You are strawmanning this early? you don't even know my opinion about the game but I can only assume you think diagonally.
>>537763458You don't know how I think, but I can assume you're a hypocrite.
What's worse? Starfield? Or the Starfield General?
>>537763510Yeah yeah keep living in your bubble. To break it down for you: we're the imperials and you're the stormcloaks. Emil couldn't write a better feud himself
>>537763631>To break it down for you: we're the imperials and you're the stormcloaks
>>537763774What? I thought you liked conflicts in a Bethesda game
>>537550886NTA. I never played NMS, what sucks about the multiplayer?
>>537763616
>>537763631>we're the imperials and you're the stormcloak
>>537763935Stop posting my selfie
>>537521116MORGAAAAAAAAAAAN
>>537763631NTA but thats fucking hilarious
I liked it better when aussies were taking about getting impregnated by Sarah
>>537625383where did you even get this from
>>537763852NTA I don't remember it sucking but it wasn't entertaining either. It's not like Minecraft where you can sabotage and do all sorts of funny shit with other people, it feels streamlined into this co-op mining gameplay loop.
>>537764327Can't you do PvP ship combat or whatever?
>>537764217That's just from me running a prompt through google's AI. I made theories in here before about The Hunter in particular being a parallel to Lucifer, similar to Sephiroth and Anakin Skywalker.
>>537764372Yes but everyone must have PvP enabled and it's like Fallout 76, nobody is enabling PvP
>>537764496Wow that's abysmal.
>>537763631>Claims anon is living in a bubble>Proceeds to make an analogy based on another Bethesda game >Its not even a good one
Someone should make a Samwell replacer for Barrett
I'd just like to say that the spaceport entrance to New Atlantis has some bollards around the central security shack, and that everything is nicely ramped and curved, almost as if it were all for vehicular mobility. Of course, then it all ends up in a little park, so there you go,I'm not arguing that this area was "art-ed" with vehicles in mind. Probably just a few coincidences.
>>537765850Barrett without beard is lowkey fuckable no homo
Gergal Ebanex got updated. The new workbench animations look amazing
>>537766986Man you're jerking off to the animation or the penetration oooh that rhymes
>>537766089It wouldn't surprise me if for a long time, they weren't sure if vehicles were going to be in the game. I was always suspicious how good the Rover was when it dropped - I imagine it was already in development and wasn't finished until after release. As I recall, there are even rough "roads" around Akila that link various areas together too. That's what you get when you don't have a design document I guess.
>>537769860This isn't a Trump thread, anon
>>537770217But it is a Todd thread, anon. Don't you see?
Did Todd ever apologise for Fallout 76? I wonder how they'll handle the PS5 release to get people past the initial critisism thats been there for two fucking years now.
>>537771030People are just going to have to play fifty hours to make their own minds up. Just pay for the $100 collectors edition and don't listen to reviews ever.
I genuinely would not mind if N.A and Neon had massive unexplorable areas just to sell the population of these areas. Akila could stay small since it's easy to imagine they have a decentralized population of homesteaders.Landing in N.A/Neon should put you on a landing pad that stretches as far as the eye can see, and then you take a shuttle to the city proper
>>537772859Just use your imagination, fuck. NA is literally all skyscrapers. Why isn't that enough for you?
Just a reminder that other games have been doing reasonably sized cities for years.
>>537772968>Why isn't that enough for you?Because I simply do not believe a society like N.A could exist with a landing pad that can only fit ~8 ships
>>537773142The size of Starfield's cities are about what you'd expect from an RPG. RPGs don't usually have cities the size of a GTA game, and most of the time, you can only explore smaller sectors. The real issue is that Starfield's cities are lacking in the interior department, particularly places for NPCs to call home when they're not working or wandering about the city. If you ever played True Crime: Streets of LA, that game is arguably larger than early GTA games, but you couldn't get into any interiors in that game outside of story missions, so it felt like there was nowhere to go in that game.
Starfield should be erased like Concord
>>537771030He did. In a later conference (2019 I think?) on stage he elbowed "It doesn't just work"
>>537778920Too late now, people can actually still pirate Starfield
>>537778974What
>>537778974Makes me wonder. Does Starfield ever go on deep sale, or has it been near full price for 2 years straight?
>>537779745All sales so far has only knocked the price down by 40% with the lowest price being $41.99https://steamdb.info/app/1716740/
>>537779979>40% off is still over $40Grim
