Not to mention that the more routes there are, the more it takes away from the existing ones. Think of IN for example; I think it's a miracle that both Eirin and Kaguya are equally remembered. With a focused shot you can clear a lot of Flans spellcards much faster before they can become a major problem whereas with homing you have to endure spellcards for that bit longer which opens the door for more mistakes. The advantages that homing provides in the extra are quite limited honestly. It will take time to acclimate to as well of course, it's not some kind of instant win but it was definitely more suited for the extra.
