The reason many fans want Shadow, Knuckles, and Silver to have their own casts/stories is because all 3 seperated enough from Sonic to have independant stories, and Archie is proof of this, giving all 3 of them pretty good stories, companions, and villains that have little to no relation with Sonic.

Sonic Adventure will always be more classic than Meta Era Classic Sonic. Classic Sonic as depicted in Sonic Generations does not look or behave the way Sonic did in the 90s.Sonic Adventure resembles the actual classic era tone and style infinitely more than Sonic Mania Adventures does.The style and tone of the actual classic era is more resembling of the 2000s home console Sonic games than anything released during the Meta Era.The Sonic Origins animations are not representative of what 90s Sonic is like.
