I also agree that the game doesn't really have that much filler in it. I would really only classify like four routes as optional because they simply don't add a ton to the overarching mythos, setting or contribute meaningfully to our understanding of the characters. (That being Serial Battles and Comedy mostly, with Romance being an arguable case and maybe Box of Blessings, whose additions to the lore can mostly be inferred from other routes and it being too shitty to be worth the time to get them).The marketing angle of "find the ending you're content with" is mostly bunk. The vast majority of endings simply don't have that kind of catharsis and leave too much up in the air. You can appreciate them as pieces of the greater puzzle, but very few can be called satisfying enough to leave off of on the whole. But that's mostly because the game doesn't really tell twenty-odd different stories, it tells essentially two stories *through* the branching route system, all adding to their greater wholes. Second Scenario, and The G'ie plotline. If you want to fully comprehend both, you more or less need to go through their constituent parts. Especially the latter. I'm not even sure what my point was... I think just that the game doesn't have much "filler" but not for the usual given reasons, if that makes sense.
