welp going to play more dw9 and rotk13 today. though not as autism version as the last few days and more casually. Hope everyone is having a goo day so far. I might load up dw5 empires also since I do want some empires goodness and dw9 empires is not going to cut it.

I love the early years of the han fall but the later stuff had some interesting things happening also. I am glad koei got around to exploring more into the future but they need to do more with all of it. would love to see them add more officers and generals from other factions. I want more of it all. I actually was playing dw3xl earlier for a bit in emulation. did the sun ce vs all those warlords stage 3 times in a row. once on sun ce's side and twice on the other forces side (such a fun stage in many ways). I might replay it again as it's one of my favorite stages in dw3xl and I only recently got into dw3xl again in emulation so I have shit unlocked in it so far and upgraded. so damn rough with shit or no horse and weak bodyguards not built up and other things like a lack of items and good weapons. Loving it though and it reminds me the later games are very quick to give you tons to go out and conquer fast. I prefer both mixed.

thanks for posting your screen anon I like seeing things other's have in their games going on. Empires is a good one since you can see some wild things in others games especially when you factor in created officers and stuff and what maps the person plays.

I have so many officers registered to created/downloaded/ officers (and officers pulled from saves and stuff to add to the roster and not just be kept in downloaded scenarios) so I have tons of people all over the game in new forms. the entire army of the yellow turbans has been replaced with created officers except 2 I have to get to.

one of the side effects of replacing generics with created is it can honestly throw the balance of the maps off since the generics are now replaced with strong characters and better movesets (those lu bu weapon using one's are problems). so maps can go drastically different and gong du's forces in scenario 2 has taken the captiol from dong zhuo before and other crazy stuff. really makes the game get interesting when that stuff happens.

It's interesting how old some of the games are now and I still play them. dw8xl was and still is a joy. I am getting close to once again beating castle mode 100% and will than start over once again with it. I do wish some of the older versions of castle mode and the beta empires modes from dw4xl and dw5xl would show up in the later games including that solder to general mode that pretty decent for what it was and I thought was fun to play through with.

It will never happen but I want a version to come out that has all the cool features of the old games and modes in it and is basically a dw collection version of sort with all older modes and weapons and features. I still miss not having a maxed out 8 person bodyguard unit from dw3xl with max item and weapon equipped set to go all out on people. god damn rape of someone when 8 of them all go all out at once on the poor officer they are attacking. I've seen them demolish tough generals on the harder settings when maxed. And later versions suck and eventually become a playable travels with you! *yawn* gimme my dw3xl max BG with max Item and weapon equipment and items making them stronger on me equipped. I still have a blast taking them into easy mode and having them literally take out entire maps while I follow along backing them up with bow and horse mounted combat.

Since playing the Wei campaign in AoE2 I've completely fallen off DW Origins and I've just been trying to gold medal all the AoE2 campaigns.
Only reporting here that I just played the Kyoto 1582 scenario and it was the biggest pain in the ass of any mission I've played so far despite being rated easy. Mostly my fault for trying to get a big push going instead of just sniping the castles like a normal person, but no wonder Hideyoshi couldn't conquer Korea if his population cap was only 125 on a hybrid map. Also Noryang Point 1592 was really easy, stupid monkey.
