Just tried to play Hellmire and realized that the Dragonroaches have the Leviathan problem of clearly not having been balanced for open air maps with no overhead cover.
One thing I love about this update is that some of the previously meme pick tier stuff finally has proper use.Mechs are good for cave diving, dynamite is good for clearing light and medium armored bugs, expendable bazooka is good for double tapping dragoons etcFeels like things are finally tying in together, and we were just beta-testing scraps of different ideas before this.

Resource farming is still pretty alright, you come across pois regularly during normal play too and everything that's not a support weapon is useful and something you need eventually, unless you're already maxxed out on everything of course. I've only played about 45 hours, am not even done with the base warbond yet and have currently 550 SC in the bank and have already been able to afford several items from the super store.

I'd say coyote is slightly better than cookout right now, barring the extreme situations involving multiple brood commanders within spitting distance where knockback on a cookout would save your ass. What it really comes down to is that the cookout went from being phenomenal at murdering swarms of small bugs like shriekers and hunters at a distance via ignition to well, not doing that. The ignition acted as a range extension for the cookout and ever since fire was reworked, it simply isn't the best way of dealing with shriekers and cant casually ignite whole hordes. It is now a shotgun that ignites stuff, maybe, in shotgun range, which doesn't exactly put it too much above any other shotgun.
