Decisions EditionPrevious Thread: >>537052492>Life is Strange(LiS) - An episodic narrative adventure game by developer Don’t Nod (DN). Set in the fictional coastal town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon, it follows Max Caulfield, a shy, awkward photography student who discovers she can rewind time and—perhaps more urgently—that she’s very, very gay. At the heart of the story is Max’s reunion with her estranged best friend, the rebellious, blue-haired Chloe Price. Their bond becomes the game’s pulsing queer core as they unravel the mystery of Rachel Amber’s disappearance. What begins as a teenage reconnection blooms into a messy, tender queer odyssey about grief, desire, and the impossible choices we make for the people we can't truly live without.LiS Series Steam Page https://store.steampowered.com/curator/36149206>Lost Records: Bloom & Rage(LR: B&R) – A spiritual successor to the original Life is Strange, made by Don’t Nod (DN). Set in Velvet Cove during the summer of 1995, it follows Swann Holloway and her chaotic, brilliant queer friends, Nora, Autumn, and Kat, as they form a band, fall recklessly in love, and try to carve out a space for themselves in a world that keeps trying to erase them. But something terrible cuts their youth short, and 27 years later, they return to face what was buried. It’s a hazy, haunted, heartbreakingly queer story about girlhood, memory, music, and the kind of love that doesn’t fade, even when everything else does.Steam Page : https://store.steampowered.com/app/1902960Discussion of the Lis Extended Universe, recently announced TV adaption, and other similar games is welcome!Reminder: Do not respond to tourists from /v/
>>538069737The live action show is going to be a Trainwreck. You cannot feasibly cast Max or Chloe and have the fanbase be happy about it.
>>538069737Pricefield endures.
>>538069834>>538069834>>538069834The actual thread.
Rejigged OP is fine.Keeps LiS as the main subject while suitably giving LR it's place.
Which fucking thread is the real one?
/lisg/ prevails.>>538072756This one prioritises Life is Strange.
>Never believe that the anti Chloe trolls are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge.>But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Chloe have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors.>They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.
>>538073139And also Snora content
>Be Deck Nine>Get a contract with Square Enix to make LiS games>Make Before the Storm, a prequel centered around the popular character of Chloe Price and her relationship with Rachel Amber as told by the first game>It respect Chloe's character, with even a bonus DLC episode with her and Max as kids>Successful enough to grant them other works and grow as a company>Make Double Exposure, a sequel long requested by Square to cash on Max's nostalgia>Shat on Chloe's character development and her bond with Max, trying to replace her with D9's shallow OCs>It bombs so badly it starts a domino effect leading to D9's downfall as a gaming company>still contractually obligated to push out a DE2 despite crunch, lack of manpower, constant layoffs and the looming shutdown of the company
>>538073415A Snora is fine too.
This is Charlie Covel, they are the showrunner, writer and executive producer of the Life is Strange TV show, can they save the project?
>>538074539Hopefully they'll lean into the Gay.
>>538069737Reminder that LR, Lake, Gone Home, and Fear the Spotlight are not franchise games are therefore off topic discussion. DE and LiS2 are franchise games despite baker trying to erase their existence because of seethe.
>>538072756This one, it was posted first
>>538074942Dont care
>>538074942They're not in the OP now. It's been rejigged.
>>538047723>Sophie Thatcher as Chloe Price
>>538076478She would be a geeat candidate
>>538076478Too smol and tits too big.Otherwise good casting.
>>538075817It’s an improvement that some off topic games were removed, but LR still needs to go and the other franchise games should be acknowledged.
>>538077325No, LR is here to stay
>>538077774Did I ask? This is /lisg/, not /lrg/. Nobody gives a fuck about that trash, couldn’t even last 100 posts on a thread.
I think price fielders in particular will be kicking and screaming about the TV show until the show comes out and it goes harder on price field than the game lol What everyone will expect is the show to go bay but the general audience will be angry because that's just to many bury you gay show endings the show will get canceled last episode like Killing Eve if they go bay If the show is good it would be nice to get fresh fans. Let's be honest the lis fans from the game are so annoying
>>538081067Imagine the crash out of Bay ending and if they race swap Chloe.
>>538081067I think they will have the same struggles going forward though unless they outright one and done it as the first game only. Otherwise it'll be LiS2 and who are these Mexicans all over again.
>>538081449They will either do an anthology of each game or do the original game but continue it. Anthology will mean Bay ending, continuation means Bae. An interesting twist would be if they made BtS season 1 then LiS season 2 but I doubt they’d do that, I’d assume BtS will be in flashbacks or season 2.
>>538081449Truthfully it would be the most clever to end on Bae so you can actually carry the story forward for another season with Max and Chloe. Because you are right. If they kill Chloe off season 2 would tank. If the TV series is a hit anything but the Bae ending would kill it. The bayers don't get that fans do not stick around once Chloe goes bye bye that's why lis2 didn't sell as well. Fans got attached to Max and Chloe and the TV audience will too. This show will get a massive LGBTQ following and they will be all hating on the show if it goes bay at the end because of how common bury your gays is in the television space
>>538082091Keeping Chloe alive just for her and Max to eventually break up is hilarious
>>538081067Either ending is fine but they could always go with an ending that incorporates the two. I don't get why people are already doomposting this much when it's not going to be a 1:1 adaptation although that doesn't mean it will be good. If the show itself is bad overall, then the endings won't matter as much.
>>538093170I do think it's possible they go for the Ultimate Good Ending, but it's also clear that Square is extremely hostile to what the fans actually like about LIS. That said, I doubt Square has any actual say in the scripts, I just get why fans are negative, on top of usual video game adaptation skepticism.
>>538091821Did they use Joyce's ring?
>>538082091If the showrunners are paying attention (they're not), Last of Us Season 2 should be a red flag fire klaxon that killing off half the reason your show works is a REALLY bad idea.
>>538099184They did
They always repeat the same two ot three talking points like fucking parrots, it's weird yet makes a lot of sense, they can't exactly create anything worthwhile on their own so they have to vilify others
>>538070258Pricefield lives!
>>538082091I don't get why some bayers can't seem to understand this. The last of us lost so many viewers after Joel died. If they want this to be a success they will have to either pick sacrifice Arcadia Bay or not show a ending. There’s so many people out there who will fall in love with Chloe.
>>538123759Success depends on pushing the queer.Wednesday is kept popular because girls ship Wednesday and Enid.
>>538124689Obviously. I personally don't care about romance at all. But I want this to be a success. So they'll need to push queer love like crazy.
>>538123759>so many people out there who will fall in love with Chloenot according to the focus groups apparently
>>538125436Focus group are not general audiences and fandoms, and they are worthless if there's no strong creative vision behind it but just yes men and comitee. LiS was successful because it wasn't afraid to be bold and creative even if it was a risk, DE took ALL the wrong lessons from LiS1 by recycling the story but sandwashing it and shitting on it at the same timePeople who defend those should be mocked and laughted
>>538047723another one
Time for Emma Myers or Cailee Spaeny as Max as well
>>538123759It depends on what they’re going for. If it’s a limited series Bay is the better ending for that, if they want more seasons about Max and Chloe they’ll probably do Bae.
>>538130228Or they'll do what the original was supposed to be and merge the timelines so no one does or just Max dies.
>>538130716>what the original was supposed to be and merge the timelines so no one doesThat would’ve been a terrible ending and cheapens the stakes, plus I never even heard of this. I know one ending had Max get shot instead of Chloe and that was the hospital ending but the devs scrapped it.
>>538131051That's the one I was talking about
>>538131925Yeah but the timelines were never merged. Both Chloe and Arcadia survive, but Chloe won’t remember anything Max did that week since you go back in time. I think “Sacrifice Max” is probably a worse ending, sacrificing Chloe vs the town creates the highest stakes.
>>538131051>Max get shot instead of Chloe and that was the hospital ending but the devs scrapped itit was meant to be the other way around
>>538128539Almost great desu>>538129706Cailee would have been perfect if she was just a little bit younger. Her character in Civil War is a knockoff Max
