some thoughts, speculations and ramblings on zzzdevs have said in an interview that anby was the first agent they designed. we can see in anby's design that everything was supposed to be believable. her basic attacks deal physical damage, however she carries a large battery on her back, powering her special attacks to deal electric damage. soldier11 does the same but with oil to ignite her blade, etc.the w-engines too are weapons, that's literally what the w stands for. sound appears to have unique properties in the hollow, allowing for the music each agent plays in their w-engine to enhance their performance. i know some of you schizos will say "it's not the music, those are real weapons (somehow), but they're being sold on the black market to raiders, so they're only disguised as music players and music disks", but that's always been a load of headcanon shit. we can see that ever since 1.0 with the zhu banner, that even the cops use w-engines. her sig's description reads "The latest tactical W-Engine used by Public Security's elite Hollow squads. It uses a powerful Ether energy source to supply all combat equipment with explosive power for a short period of time". so music based tech has always been canon. i think the original idea was that we're supposed to be in a tv. the devs have sponsored a youtube channel that points to the etherials only appearing in R-ed, G-reen, B-lue colours, that hollows allegedly look like some kind of interference that old CRT tvs get. and if i remember correctly, there was a cutscene with phaeton literally "rewind"ing time.thus everyone expected that joyous and sunbringer would be belle/wise either from the past or future, with a talk of a time machine/portal in the center of Hollow Zero.but it seems the devs are taking things in a direction where cloning is the norm. so belle/wise are most likely just their clones, created by their professor and thus their "mother". 1/3

Most other attackers get healthy amounts of damage% or even on characters like Zhu have tons of damage on their ult/skill that you really want to be buffing.Also something to keep in mind is how in combat attack % buffs work in this game, Hormone Punk for example isn't the same as an extra 25% attack from disc drives, it multiplies the attack on your character sheet by 1.25, it's way more impressive than it appears.Even on Seed herself Woodpecker is almost the same amount of damage lol.

From there the snowball starts rolling as the designers stick to what they learned works, getting us things like SSanby's design and everything with Shifu.
