My advice if you’re just starting or haven’t gotten too far in Rising is to pick 1 or 2 characters and funnel everything into them. What if Reclaim is more than just a name here? What if the never before seen mechanic is guardians fighting to open and keep open sections of the Plague Lands to receive rewards or access secrets like the exotic mission? But more powerful enemies will surge calling for more high level completions to keep or /reclaim/ the area. Something like a legally distinct Helldivers 2 limited to a small area.

The power grind is good. Ideally, we should only have ~1000 people in the world in full t5. It should be incredibly rare, a sign of absolute dedication, and it shouldn't be achievable at all without clearing raids.

The difference between a T4 and T5 piece of loot is mostly just better odds on Column 3/4 perks, but the odds aren't THAT much better.But there's people who didn't even bother getting to T3, because the grind is demanding MMO time without MMO power. If you grind for 80 hours in an MMO for a piece of loot, you're usually getting a power spike that has you laying waste to all of your enemies, and invoking the jealousy of your peers that haven't done that grind. In Destiny, if you do an 80 hour grind, you get an SMG that sets somebody on fire slightly faster.

You know I had no idea how bad the leveling was until this last weekend when I decided to take it seriously for a few days and try to get to 400 before the Ash reset purely to see if I could. I start at like 360 from casual play. I grinded fireteam ops and found it is literally a noob trap. Hard as balls depending on the phase of the moon and you get like nothing for doing it. Right now when it comes to leveling only solo makes any sense to do at all. Its more rewarding, faster, easier and you have full control over the retarded shitty modifiers bungie is so proud of. Hell I thought you guys were over selling the disparity here but no if anything you all undersold it. It's night and day. This is the one way everyone should be leveling now and into the future. This is truly a broken system. Made it to 390 before I tapped out. got like four random tier 4 guns in 30 levels. All shit. All immediately infused or shards. Back to the land of casuals I go glad to be rid of the big number go up curse.

The entire system is basically a field of tar pits that if you're not playing with some methodical purpose, you're virtually never going to make meaningful progress and get the more rewarding stuff. Now sure you got slobs who worship content creators saying how great it is "levels mean something now" and that it's all an indicator how much of a grinder you are, but reality is it's just trying to sell leveling as content(bad) and have that stand sufficient enough for lack of content and reward structures in other more appealing parts of the game. Even the one person on the livestream panel lied through their teeth with "we want the demanding harder content to be more rewarding and not just have people run the same 1 thing", a raid shouldn't be so skimpy and unrewarding compared to just running Caldera all day. But yes the post 400(soon to be 500) experience is absolute bullshit and the getting there feels even more pointless. Nobody likes things that are disposable and waste as much time as they do with the unfun parts.
How do you guys feel about Bungie probably dying to the lawsuits and disasters and our shared 10-year long journey coming to an end as Destiny shuts down
