Cap is the Vanguard with by far the highest winrate for this simple reason (apart from Peni, but she does it differently).

The way you win is by being good (obviously) and picking heroes which have high degree of agency and impact to dictate the flow.
If the enemy is steadily pushing the objective and it's mostly a stalemate in terms of fights, with your team incapable of breaking through, you sitting on Mag shooting at their Vanguard getting healed won't change a thing. A Cap pressuring the enemy backline or potentially even killing people in the backline has way higher impact because it breaks down the enemy healing line and splits the enemy team focus between your team and the Cap. This opens up a chance for your team to kill the front and potential midline, or at least pushing them back.

Only reason to play Mag or Strange is if you want to be a loss collector or you stack with a competent team.

In ranked, he just gets banned (at least below celestial, I don't know how actual good players deal with him without Thing, Namor+Hulk or SW).

In QP, DPS instalocks just don't care, they want to play their heroes and get some healing. If their backline gets executed every 20 seconds, they couldn't care less, and divers rarely target tanks and duellist.

This is entirely a player drive issue. 3 DPS should be dealing more damage, if they're not getting kills or making up for the lack of a second tank with damage then they're shit.
