I feel like Genshin had the right idea about making all their big headliner characters - the Void Hunter equivalents - be supports instead of primary drivers*. Is there any logical explanation for the way S11 is treated? It's as if they forgot about her until they remembered her existed in the last few hours before the patch was released and added four dialogues. It makes no sense. I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of playable males is due to how relatively generous ZZZ is towards free pulls per patch compared to their other games.With how many pulls they give out, it's in their best interest to make sure absolutely no banner is an auto skip for people. If the majority of players are assumed to be straight male waifu pullers, most of their male characters might as well be designed as an easy auto skip. They'll save too many pulls to be tempted to spend money for the waifu characters.There's some ways around this, but something would have to give.Just accept people skipping husbando banners and saving.They could give out less free pulls so they don't lose as much from guys skipping male banners (Everyone would hate this).Forced synergies to make people pull for guys and girls, though that would make people hate characters that can't stand on their own.Design guys in a way that appeal to other guys, though type of design clashes heavily with husbando wanters, so those fans might not feel like they gained anything at all if they have to sacrifice Hugo/Lighter type designs for characters that appeal to guys like Dark Souls bosses or Doom Slayers.Design guys in a way that manage to appeal to everyone that fulfills both power fantasy/grimdark edgelord and husbando appeal. Been here for ZZZ since day 1, I remember being excited for the story, I remember loving the voices of Lycon, Koleda, Lucy, Shokaku, I remember doing quest, just to find out lore of the game. Now I just show up and do day by day quests because I've sunk so much money into this. If I had to pinpoint the exact fall of this game, my opinion is it started to fall off after Miyabi. Everyone was so excited for that character since she was teased way early in the game's lifespan, but after that, hardly anything has come close.
