They essentially take the already prevalent crisis/conditional/buff-stacking meta and exaggerate it to the level of ZADS-ing everything in the game to death with a single attack with barely if any setup being required.To put things into perspective Mitsuko (and Awawa) was generally considered one of if not the strongest damage-dealer for years due to having access to a combination of buffs that would enable her to have six turns, with nine normal attacks per turn, with access to buffs for those attacks on top of it.While skills have drastically powercrept the normal attack strategies, it's also very easy to give multiple characters each multiple turns, and not only can everybody reliably get multiple turns, but with the absurd boosts from proofs and all the free AP they can equip every ability they need to turn into omnipotent blobs, and with Chains, each of those turns will consist of even MORE turns, each of which can be their own sequence of multi-hitting skills without requiring outside set-up like EX-Tentacle, letting you do things like have functionally twelve or eighteen turns on a SINGLE individual due to how the multi-activations, chains, and such will exacerbate in their effectiveness with additional turns. And the intended off-set for such absurd strategies, the ridiculous HP/MP/SP costs that are intended to rack up from all those abilities, have become completely nullified, because you can either reduce costs to 1% or negate them outright.Meaning you can do all of this, for free.Before the enemy even gets ONE turn.There is no way he playtested this shit.

You could not obtain that item until either very late in the game or the LOC itself iirc. But needless to say it was patched.The OG Meta was Evasion and Deflectors. Deflectors originally stacked indefinitely, and were later nerfed to cap at two. Evasion's formula now has diminishing returns as well solely because Evasion used to be so good at helping to mitigate damage, especially when combined with Deflectors. The combination of these two was one of the core strategies for challenging some of the Superbosses, evading all of their attacks with deflectors soaking up what was auto-hit, with everyone needing to be careful not to forget how many deflectors they had left so they didn't get caught without one and OHKO'd.Trtr's initial response to Evasion was to break it's fucking kneecaps in Part 2 by not only changing the formula but giving every enemy a natural accuracy buff. I only learned much later after coming back to this general during the extended delay that he had thankfully reverted this horrendous choice, and later versions removed the accuracy buff but kept the modified formula, which has left it perfectly balanced. Even now in Part 3, it's still very strong, but not overwhelmingly so. Unfortunately, I'm certain this kind of over-correction is undoubtedly the reason he nerfed defensive buffs so hard.And yes OG Harpies were fucking PEAK. Sky Dance in Part 1 was absolutely glorious. Reina did not even have priority in the original Part 1, by the way. What a power-up she received! I am truly thankful for My Wife's blessing.Insects were also Meta originally, and so were Popes. Also originally Holy Martyr revived the user and could reactivate. I can recall at least two anons who's LOC teams were nothing but Insect Popes.

And for those curious, from my memory the one who was considered to be the original strongest Harpy in the game was none other than Pyhar, because due to the original formula combined with her huge innate evasion rates it was actually pretty easy for her to hit the evasion cap, and her natural tendency to be less likely targeted meant she almost never went down, at least when I used her. Pyhar and Reina (plus one of the insects, iirc it was Vanessa) were how I managed to beat the Armored Berserker back in the day.It's a pretty far cry from how she is now, but at least she had her time in the sun.

More or less I just recall what was generally very good and commonly used on teams. Harpies, Insects, Apoptosis, etc. I have my old save file of Part 1, but my archive ended up being one of the initial versions of Part 2 that was mid-translation, and the computer I have Part 1 on has battery problems. I've been meaning to fix it though, I'd like to go back to it. My favorite version of the LOC has always been the original Part 1 version, and I think the enjoyment I had from spending an hour or more to finally whittle down and kill the superbosses was part of why I really enjoyed the longer fights in Part 3. The battles against Chaos honestly felt almost exactly like those original Superboss fights even, a really long contest of attrition where any mistake would equal a loss. Granted I did kick Luka out of my party (and fought her with only Reina) so I lacked the FOC's comically huge stat buff for it, but I'm kind of glad for that, it did make it a lot more fun for me. It was very nostalgic in a way, and reminded me of what I loved about the battles in the first place.Reina going from start to end over the course of ten years was great too though.I do believe both Shesta and Lippy were very very strong however, Shesta especially, as Time Magic as always was extremely powerful. This was also prior to Apoptosis being turned into part of the doll race chain however, so Shesta did not have any access to doll race stuff. I don't think the original Part 2 had chaos elements. Galactic was just percentage based damage and I think Time Magic used to just be Untyped, and iirc Galactic was renamed Gravity, and then some Untyped attacks were changed to a new Galactic element. But 2.23 didn't have any of the really, really crazy stuff at all either. No Sorceries, no Collab or Collab-Jobs like Shield Captain or Psychic, and above all 2.23 did not have Gravity Pleasure (i.e; basically the Part 2 equivalent of the Auto-Daystar "I win" button).So whatever snowball happened to cause the serial escalation in Part 3, it probably came around the time of the Collab.

There would be no 7% DR because THS, HS, and Defense/Willpower Up no longer stack with each other, and as a result the DR they each have wouldn't stack either. Is carnage LoC even a challenge currently? Since it's not balanced for part 3 yet so you can run around with complete quantization on everyone and just hit the super bosses with defense ignoring attacks after being able to set up for free. Ignoring how LoC was free in part 2 with gravity pleasure.

I think it's finally setting in for me now that I'm never going to enjoy this quite the same again. I'll never have as much fun as our first adventure, those many quests and journeys that all eventually lapped into the Final Run. We already fought and accomplished all those things. I loved Part 3, and we had a great time, but it's impossible to go back in blind again. Maybe that's why I've struggled to commit to another playthrough. We'll most likely end up doing the same thing again, defeating the bosses with Reina and Co, dancing and flapping and all, but the discovery is gone. Until Part Three I felt like I could do it forever, and I did many different playthroughs, but now it's almost like the loop has closed. I can't turn back time. There's no more mystery because I know how it ends. And trying to go back feels like I'm trying to change that end. The Harpies have their happy ending, and it's wrong to take it away from them. So we just go all over the map and revisit old towns and stuff like that.And it's nice and comfy. Back in the Singularity world, it's the peace I always wanted for this place.And yet...........................it's almost like, like something is missing.As if something integral has been taken away from me.a-anons im getting worried
