>Tehran Armada
Saw a video earlier that suggests that Terran Armada might not actually be the 2nd story expansion DLC, which kind of makes sense when you consider the Starborn trademark. This might actually just be some base game expansion content.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm2giat5i7I
>>538335038It'll be old earth ship parts.
>>538335124Might see some old earth weapons, clothes and vehicles too.
>>538335268All ported from fallout
>>538335268>old earth weaponsI'm fine with that even though I liked their original weapons. I just hope Bethesda doesn't chicken out on licensing real guns.

Does Starfield have any Space Rape?
>>538342238With mods yes.https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/38336-naf-surrender-updated-040925/
>>538342653Mods don't count. Bethesda need to step up their game. Rape is good for worldbuilding.>"Murder and theft are okay! But no heckin' rape or racism!"Messes with believability.
>>538343170Grow up, you're pushing 60
>>538345192>Wanting mature themes in a (supposedly) mature game makes you immatureSuspension of disbelief is probably the most important thing in fiction (unless that fiction is faggy/redditor 4th wall breaking fiction.) Starfield feels too HR and corpo-safe to truly feel immersive. It's immersive, but doesn't "feel real" because it never "gets real." Handling mature themes respectfully and with nuance enhances art. Obviously, "respect" and "nuance" is hard to measure, but you know it when you see it.
>>538343170The most you're gonna get in regards to sex crimes is bounty targets pleasuring themselves with heatleeches, as well as the occasional npc implied to be a pedophile.https://starfieldwiki.net/wiki/Starfield:Bounty_Hunter_(Mission)
>>538346069>Wanting mature themes in a (supposedly) mature game makes you immatureYes, they call it Immature maturity.
>>538334228Safest assumption is Terran Armada being what Tim Lamb described as the space flight DLC which seems to enable interplanetary flight from the data mined code.
>>538349517>DLCUpdate I mean
>>538349517Maybe. Terran Armada translates to Earth Fleet, which could mean a lot of things-Could involve a new faction based on Earth, maybe enemies or people aiming to preserve old earth cultures-Could be something similar to ECS Constant involving a lost colony during Earth's evacuation which might have some old world goodies-Could just be Bethesda implementing their own Fleet Command system

>>538335038Maybe they just trademarked Starborn for future use/defensively since it's a core concept of the game's universe and not because it's the title of the next DLC.
>>538349517I'd bet a lot of the new features will be part of a free update and the dlc is just expanding on it. Probably not what they had originally planned for the 2nd dlc but they had to do it because of starfields reception.

>>538417114Bethesda's problem is they think bigger is better. No other metric is important to them. I think the biggest flub of SF was that you meet all the core companions right away all from the main faction as well. You should have met them as part of Constellation missions, and THEN they join up.
>>538421107>new game systems>new story dlc>improvements to space gameplay>"smaller delights"which is way bigger than anything the game has received so far.
>>538422124They also said they listened to the fans when they developed Shittered Spazz.
>>538421518Isn't that how that literally works in this game? You meet Barret on Vectera first, he sends you off to Jemison to join Constellation where he remains behind and gets kidnapped later, then you meat Sarah and run a few missions with her before you're tasked to go find Andreja and rescue Barrett. Don't remember if Sam was at the Lodge from the start or not.
>>538423092More like they made some minor adjustments to Shattered Space to accommodate land vehicles because of fan input, that DLC was likely already set in stone for the most part.

Starfield could use a bit of a spelunking adventure. Picture this: You approach Argos for some new work and they send you off to do some mining for a rare mineral in a cave on a distant planet. While you're looking around the cave, you spot one of the rare minerals and as you approach it, the ground below you gives way, dropping you far down beneath the planet's surface. Once you reach the bottom, you proceed to journey through a network of caves and fight unique alien creatures along the way, and after all that, you find yourself in a new underground civilization inhabited by an intelligent humanoid alien species who although speak another language, are able to properly communicate with you telepathically. As you continue to find ways to return to the planets surface, you gradually learn some things about this new species and come to find out that they're currently at war with a defector who attempted to overthrow it's leaders. Here, you have a two choices: You can either try to help out in the war or you can say no which will prevent further progress with a large questline for the rest of your playthough of the current universe you're in. If you choose to help, you will go through a series of quests, gaining some followers and unique weapons and armor along the way, and then you will come across the big bad of questline. At this point, the big bad will offer you the option of joining his cause, and if you do so, you will be tasked with storming the civilization to kill it's leaders, which will see some opposition along the way, and some areas in the civilization will get destroyed and be permanently in ruins. Going down this route will see you claim some unique weapons and armor from the leaders. If you don't accept his offer, you're gonna be in for a big boss fight, but after you defeat him, you'll earn yourself a new player home and a different unique set of weapons and armor. Goods from shops around the civilization will also be made cheaper.

>>538516895The Artifacts and the locations they're found in. You can get a pretty decent piece of lore from the location that Barrett first came into contact with an artifact on Ka'zaal.
>>538516895For a group billed as the “last true explorers of humanity,” their actual list of accomplishments in almost 60 years looks like this:>Founded (2275). Group of nerds with telescopes and good intentions.>Did almost nothing of note for decades. >>538518152Wait what? I thought they were the guys that went out and explored the settled systems when humanity left earth?
>>538518152 Does anyone who even still play Starfield like Constellation? I don't like em. I like Andreja and Walter but Constellation itself is really mediocre.
>>538518775I try. I wouldn't go as far to mod Star Trek fully into the game but I like the idea of explorers who just go around scanning things and getting into adventures. You have to do a lot of the leg work yourself though. A lot of mods. Just to be able to walk around a planet for a few minutes before the game crashes...
>>538518664Any further lore surrounding Constellation will probably have to involve meeting it's founding members, but you don't really get to meet any of them besides Aja provided you marry Sarah, plus it's main founder Sebastian Banks is dead. We might get some DLC on that in the future.
>>538519120I hope we get a massive expansion to Constellation. Literally and as a DLC. They should be an organization, not a bunch of nerds standing around in a library talking about nothing and doing nothing. You should run into Constellation explorer parties, Constellation ships doing surveys. As you go through the main quest, or an unrelated Constellation questline, you unlock new tools and gadgets that can control animals, or scan large areas, or whatever. Apart from scanning, there's just no fucking emphasis on exploration. I know its not for everyone, but fucking hell if Bethesda don't know how to commit to any fucking idea. No fucking integrity. No balls. Too scared of upsetting people.
>>538519120Starfield would benefit so much if it controlled like Death Stranding. Make the walking itself a game
>>538521760I've been trying to years to implement a Rockstar-style locomotion control system into Bethesda games. Skyrim was so much more enjoyable when you just walk from location to location. I want to be able to hold forward on my controller and my dude just walks. Hold A To run, tap to sprint. Or stick press I guess. But yeah. Bethesda should have leaned into the "Slower pace" gameplay by doing this.

There a new $5 quest creation from DownfallNemesis that also earns you a female companion. Do note that it has Pro-Crimson Fleet and Anti-UC sentiments and will cause SysDef to become hostile towards if you don't change some things in the options. DownfallNemesis did confirm that the female companion isn't romanceable, so I'll pretty much be skipping this one.https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/details/4dad80b8-13a4-4814-a427-ece1b79995a7/Shadow_of_the_Past

Another day with no updates... Just two more weeks, folks... Yay...
What if the 2.0 update actually does fix the game and everyone starts to love it like TES or Fallout?
>>538542887Idk, I like this general being slow and niche
>>538543237its certainly better than whatever the fuck is going on over in the cyberpunk general

>>538542425I assume we'll hear nothing until The Game Awards at the earliest. They ramped up the teases with the Tim Lamb video and the Terran Armada thing, now we'll probably get nothing for a few more months. Bethesda needs to hire better PR people and actually nail down a communication strategy. Whatever schizo flip-flopping bullshit they're doing now isn't working very well.

Absolutely the worst game in modern memory. Bethesda should be (and likely are) utterly ashamed.
>>538577680We know. Whats you're point?
>>538577680It's very clear to everyone in this thread that you haven't actually even played Starfield at all. "Your" opinion of Starfield has clearly been crafted for you from secondary sources, which these sources have an agenda to push ragebait for engagement for advertisement revenue, so they can continue to fund their evil lifestyles and keep on the grift.
>>538578464Nope, talking from personal experience. Quiz me on the game and I can tell you. Its stupid. The companions are shallow. The only "good" quest is Vanguard and only because the others are so bad. And Bethesda have no idea what ever made their games good in the first place.Don't think I forgot how Bethesda obscured their world maps to hide how small their cities were, and how close and copy-pasta all the POIs are. I say the game is shit cos I played it, for many hours, and know first hand.

Fuel isn't just a number you have to manage, it should affect ship building and account for ships weight. The bigger your ship the more fuel you need. That's how it worked before they disabled it anyway.
>>538611427shipbuilding in general is just underbaked and devoid of depththe way you build your ship means nothing, you can have fuel tanks and exposed components all over the place or everything protected and armored and it doesn't matter, all shots go to 0 0 0 on your ship and arbitrarily starts draining health from systems in the same order every single timeit's insulting how badly shipbuilding and ship to ship combat are dumbed down for the absolute dregs of players

Alright, it's been a good amount of time, I first played Starslop when it launched, had a bit of fun, but found it pretty lacking. How has the game improved? Has modding done what it does for other Bethesda games yet? Has anyone created a dynamic war mod or something along those lines?

>>538626027The irony in that statement is that like most of the white blondes walking around aren't natural blondes either. lol
>>538623230>>538623379@Grok summarize this
>>538627020Most usually just dye their dirty blonde hair into a blonder-blonde
>>538628343Still extremely rare to be or even come across a natural blonde in general unless you live in Nordic countries. Most people in the world either have black or brown hair, and natural blondes make up only 2% of the world's population. Natural redheads are even rarer.
>>538619459>The starborn are like angels!how?>Cuz uh... circles.okay? do they herald something? Do they have wings? do they see many things or anything?>... circles
>>538623379Okay so they just spawn some fucking ships in lol, was hoping for an actual war where factions take over systems, something that actually built out more of the sandbox. As always, if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.
>>538629806They're more so allegories to angels than actual angels.
>>538630345like what
Now that literally everyone hates niggers, do you think they'll tone it down a bit for the next expansion?
>>538631801The Hunter represents a darker side of Keeper Aquilus, a man who fell from the side of spirituality as he jumps from universe to universe to fulfill his lust for power, and doesn't mind killing others who gets in his way, making him pretty similar to the Fallen Angel Lucifer who rebelled against heaven and attempted to usurp power from God. He can also be seen as an allegory of Satan who attempts to seduce the player into going down that same road of gaining power, similar to how Satan convinced Adam and Eve to consume the forbidden fruit of knowledge.
>>538632862So Hunter is bad. That's not an allegory, thats just just having a villain. Watch:The Hunter represents a darker side of Anakin Skywalker, a man who fell from the side of spirituality as he joins the Sith to fulfill his lust for power, and doesn't mind killing others who gets in his way, making him pretty similar to the Fallen Angel Lucifer who rebelled against heaven and attempted to usurp power from God. He can also be seen as an allegory of Satan who attempts to seduce Luke Skywalker into going down that same road of gaining power, similar to how Satan convinced Adam and Eve to consume the forbidden fruit of knowledge.
>>538633145Anakin is also an allegory of Lucifer just as Sephiroth is. Only difference between the three is that The Hunter isn't a handsome man.
>>538633145>The Hunter represents a darker side of Tommy Pickles, a baby who fell from the side of spirituality as he steals cookies to fulfill his lust for power, and doesn't mind killing others who gets in his way, making him pretty similar to the Fallen Angel Lucifer who rebelled against heaven and attempted to usurp power from God. He can also be seen as an allegory of Satan who attempts to seduce Chucky into going down that same road of gaining power, similar to how Satan convinced Adam and Eve to consume the forbidden fruit of knowledge.
>>538633340You're conflating Allegory with Archetype. An allegory is a story. The hunter isn't a story, he's a character that adds nothing of value toward the overall themes of the actual story, as there are no themes, as the game is a poorly written pseudo-intellectual science fantasy teen novel.
The Hunter is evil yes but he's based too so it's justified when he kills everyone

>>538677983>Then why the fuck are they the main antagonists? On a less faggy note, what happens if the Starborn/hunter/emmisary go through the Unity and you don't? Does it stop you going through? Are you and the other Starborn trapped in that one universe? Or could you just keep collecting them? How do they end up in space in the first place? What exactly is the "bad ending" if you were to 'fail' the main quest?
I wish they would make the onfoot zero g sections true 6dof like ship combat is
>>538678221>On a less faggy note, what happens if the Starborn/hunter/emmisary go through the Unity and you don't? Does it stop you going through? Are you and the other Starborn trapped in that one universe?Your essence exists in every universe. The key difference is the version you play as is the chad version that survives every universe they step through unlike the many other versions of you that always get killed by The Hunter as seen in Vlad's flashbacks and The Hunter himself telling you that. If you didn't step into another universe, The Hunter and The Emissary would fight as always with The Hunter killing your weak version in that universe. >Are you and the other Starborn trapped in that one universe? It depends on who has the artifacts. The moment you activate them, the artifacts will scatter around in the respective universe just like the beginning of the game.>What exactly is the "bad ending" if you were to 'fail' the main quest?(You) dying but that doesn't happen when you're in control of your character
>>538678221If you romanced anyone, it's implied in the Unity epilogue that they go through the Unity at a later time, so the artifacts likely just stays behind nestled in your ship if they don't just scatter around the universe like Dragon Balls.
>>538679248It is also implied that your involvement caused a bit of disturbance in some universes with you being able to meet different versions of you which shouldn't happen. What should happen is when you teleport to another universe, (You) should completely replace other you causing their body and soul to fade out of existence.
>>538679482so something we did messed with the way the Unity works? Or are we just sUpEr SpeShUL snowflake tier
>>538679376>they don't just scatter around the universe like Dragon Balls.>>538679248>the artifacts will scatter around in the respective universe just like the beginning of the game.Uhh so which is it
>>538679625A bit of both. This is where we don't have any info until further DLC but it's worth mentioning that those who touch the artifacts are able to hear trapped souls like Anasko implying they have snowflake powers.
>>538679749Feasible to be both depending on if everyone chose to be reborn or not. I mean they remain on your ship if you choose to go back yourself
>>538679749>the artifacts will scatter around in the respective universe just like the beginning of the game.I posted this and in my defense: The Emissary ending says the people in the universe you're leaving behind are inspired to hunt and search for the artifacts knowing there are bigger mysteries out there.
Holy fuck the Aceles vs Microbe thing is bad. I know it's been discussed to death about how all 4 of your companions get pissy for "not trusting the science", but they even get mad at you if you do pick the microbe but still voice doubts about it.
>>538679818Of course.. why the fuck would it be anything more than "chosen one" syndrome. Honestly Bethesda's "writing" team are an utter joke. How long have they thought they could get away with this? At some point people were going to notice they were utter dogshit.
>>538679970>the people in the universe you're leaving behind are inspired to hunt and search for the artifacts knowing there are bigger mysteries out there. That doesn't mean the artefacts are out there. That doesn't mean anything.
>>538680125Interpret it how you will, it's one of the few evidences.
>>538679482>(You) should completely replace other you causing their body and soul to fade out of existence. That sounds like some scary and pretty depressing shit. I would hope at least that either the Other You got sent to a parallel universe when you arrived, or you ended up merging body and consciousness.
>>538680260I shall interpet that Bethesda writers are fucking children.
>>538679972Barrett and Sarah will support the micorbe and gain + affinity Sam and Andrjea will support Aceles and gain + affinity Vice versa.
>>538680306It is scary. Everything that surrounds the artifacts feels wrong yet these two fuckers are bent on speedrunning every universe and to what end?>just for the lulz broIs what The Hunter would say
>>538680403>Sam and Andrjea will support Aceles and gain + affinityThey're neutral I guess, since they didn't chew me out for picking the microbe. Andreja at least agreed that the microbe isn't a 100% safe guarantee.
>>538679972The quest pretty much teaches you that popular opinions and groupthink isn't always the right one. Look at where that got all those people at Jonestown
>>538680735Yeah their tone is neutral for both. This is where the writers couldn't hide their biases and some anon theorized that Covid had something to do with it.
>>538679996It's more nuanced this time around. Yes you're a chosen one but there are so many people who have the same powers as you or even stronger like The Hunter who can teleport everywhere or The Emissary who knows more about this universe than you'll ever be able to in-game.
>>538681106>some anon theorized that Covid had something to do with it.No shit. Any possible guesses what mod is causing my game to sometimes randomly crash on load? Whenever I go through a loading screen its a 50/50 that the game doesn't CTD with no error message or anything.
>>538733027to be honest that could be the fuckin base game lmao
>>538733027Time to disable each mod to identity the issue
>>538733027I have random crashes myself at the main menu and when trying to load saves, though I don't remember exactly whens the last time that occurred, seems more likely to be an issue with the base game like the other anon said. That being said, do you have vmroche's Bunker or Village mod installed? Had to remove that mod some time ago because it was causing some issues in my game. Didn't play nice with Stroud Premium Edition and Positively New Atlantis as having all three of those mods in my game together would cause my game to hang when trying to exit The Well, though from what I've seen through xEdit, Positively New Atlantis needs some clean up itself. I also noticed that the Village mod in particular was causing some grass to show up on the beaches of Paradiso.
>>538734086Out of those, I have only Stroud Premium. I've reinstalled Starfield so many times because I got sick of my game getting buggier and buggier. >>538736207>>538736328Other anon with crashes here, aside form the official Bethesda stuff, the only mods I've noticed that I have in common with you are:-Astrogate-Owltech Pathfinder-Usable Animation Markers (Earlier versions of this one caused framerate issues with ships that took off)-Horizon-Choose Your Chunks-Doctor Rosie-Modular Explosive Delivery System-Some of DownfallNemesis mods-Some of zone79's mods-Some of Kinggath's mods-Neon House Boat-New Atlantis Subway-Stroud Premium Edition-Falkland System-The Eye Revised
>>538737501I've disabled Pathfinder, Usable Animation Markers, Horizon, and the Neon House Boat. I'll let you know how it goes. If it does work, I'm sure it'll be UAM that affects every world space, so it kinda makes sense it might cause crashes when passing through load screens?
>>538739417I doubt, all that mod does is enable the use of NPC makers. Crashes like these are more likely a stability issue which can be caused by a number of things, such as bugged scripts, having too many mods installed which is a known issue with Starfield, or simply the result of a long running save with all those places you've explore and all those items you've collected.
>>538740050Its a brand new save. After a crash, I load the autosave and it loads to the place I was trying to load into, as if it did load, made an autosave, and then crashed. But only sometimes. Its weird.
>>538740240Yeah you definitely don't want to rely on quick and autosaves too much either as things often tends to start bugging out over time as you load into them since those kind of save methods can occur in the middle of a script execution, this kind of issue has been plaguing older games as well. You'll occasionally want to make a full save and reload it after restarting the application. It's also a good idea to restart your computer from time to time too as Starfield may store some bugged entries into your memory that won't be cleared out until the next time you restart.
>>538740823It occurs pretty much straight away. I start up my PC, go to play for about twenty minutes, and I'll get my first crash. So I'm on a brand new save (well, a ng+1) and its happening as much as it ever did.
>>538740987Yeah that definitely sounds like a bugged mod issue, no telling which one(s) is causing that though
>>538739417kek well i played for a little longer before getting a CTD in the middle of Akila while just going for a walk. No load screens.
>>538736328Kinggath's mods tend to be script heavy. Try disabling them.
>mods will fix itthe mods will in fact make it worselmao
>>538762043All the more reason to make save back ups and be wary of what you download. God know how many times I've had to troubleshoot Skyrim with the 2000+ mods I have installed right now. Starfield doesn't even have ReSaver support right now, so you know you have to be extra careful when uninstalling shit mid game too.

Which would you rather have for Starfield:A. Hunting Gear Set-New Crossbow weapon-Camo Outfit (Several camouflage skins, increases stealth)-Deployable bedroll to sleep anywhere-Water canteen with up to five uses that can be refilled at any cooking station (provided you have a water items)-Camo skins for all knives and sniper rifle weapon types-Backpack that increases carry weightB. Special Forces Set-New Taser weapon that can deal gradual EM damage on continued usage as well as be able to set npcs on fire (Inspired by Syphon Filter)-Customizable Bulletproof Vest that functions as an accessory that can be placed over any clothing item, increases protection against all incoming damage-Gas Mask that increases protection against hazards-Tear Gas grenades that can stun and disarm enemies-Beanbag Shotgun that can stun and deal EM damage
>>538802189all of those things are either mods already or are gay
>>538802189A hunting gear. Bonus if it's Freestar Collective themed
>>538802189What is the point in camo when stealth doesn't work?
>>538804443Did you install the Gravitic Composites on your Spacesuit and Helmet? Bethesda basically decided to go the realistic route to fuck with players by making wearing those bulky and loud spacesuits actually render stealth worthless unless you install the Gravitic Composites on them or un-equip the spacesuit altogether.

It really does feel nice to just wander around some areas on foot (particularly forest biomes) after you've been using the land rovers to skip the tedium of getting from Point A to Point B for so long.
>>538840950I fully surveyed so many planets before they ever added the rover. No regrets Except combing the coastline for 20 fucking minutes waiting for the right fish to spawn

Ah yes, the decorative blood
>>538841128Same. The land rovers are a breath of fresh air to use when you want to get around faster or if you like the idea of going on scenic road trips with your companions, but it's also nice to just hoof it and get a slower paced look at the environment, from the plant life to the alien creatures that function like irl animals with how they graze or hunt each other down from time to time.

What does the rumored "cruise mode" imply? I'm not really interested in anything less than being able to manually land on planets and fly in atmosphere.
>>538874337Do you associate "cruising" with landing? It means exactly what it says it means. Crusing.
>>538874450How is that different from what we already have? Also if it's just cruising why is the dev team referring to it as "improving space combat"?
>>538874807Its Bethesda. They lie.
>>538874337basically you hit the turbo and go really, really fast instead of fast travellingthere may or may not also be new POIs and encounters you can exit out of supercruise to go explore or deal with>>538874807My main hopes for a space combat overhaul would be >component/module placement actually matters, exposed reactors/fuel tanks are more likely to be damaged if not covered by hull/habs or decorative pieces>expanded/improved weapon powering/weapon groups allowing for Mechwarrior-style weapon grouping so you can more granularly control what weapons are firing/active, also allowing more than 3 unique weapon parts and opens the path for 'utility' weapons/equipment like mine layers (cut content), active ECM, mining tools like drills or cutters, etc.
>>538874337It implies manual traveling through space (interplanetary travel) instead of fast traveling, similar to how Astrogate's Supercruise mode works. We can probably also expect some encounters in between to break up what would most likely be a monotonous experience. We might get a hidden loading screen landing animation similar to how it works in Star Wars Outlaws, but I highly doubt flying within a planet's atmosphere will be a thing.
>>538874337You set a course to a predetermined area and the game loads a bunch of stuff while faking the actual travel. Astrogate gives you actual travel within the system but it had to be removed from xbox because consoles couldn't handlt it.

Speaking of Starborn, would the game be improved without their inclusion or would it have been better if they went all in and incorporated it into every aspect of the story inlcuding faction quests?
How do fags have more than 50 mods installed? There aren't that many interesting/good mods.
>>538905534Call me a retard but I think they are fine in their current place with DLC expanding on their story. Main game has enough content to keep those who want a grounded space game while the main story and SS is made for those who want fantastical elements. Now if the whole game centered around them then yeah becoming a Starborn would unlock more skips in every questline but I get the feeling the quest designers themselves were against the idea of becoming a Starborn with Emil's own questline having the least amount of Starborn options believe it or not.
>>538905534The game would arguably be even more boring if the Starborn weren't a thing. People love fantasy elements which is why Star Wars is more popular than Star Trek, and Bethesda probably should have leaned more into that with this game. I'm talking tons more jedi rip off powers, intelligent aliens that also have powers, scifi medieval kingdoms probably floating on islands and shit, etc.

Might be a good time as any to list some of the mods we have so far that adds more Starborn NPC presence to the game (won't list mods that give existing companions Starborn powers)1. Friendly-Starborn Suit Legendary Effect Reroll -Audrey - Starborn Companion2. Enemy-Project Viper - Covenant-Bedlam - Dungeon Randomizer-Ramses II Boss-Samael - Unique New Boss Enemy3. >>538918798What about Starborn among us? it had a lot of options to choose from
>>538922532Seems that can randomly convert existing NPCs into Starborn, including friendlies. Might be neat to use, but might not be ideal for those who want more interactions that alludes to those npcs being Starborn

>>538931951It's very overdone in Skyrim. Fallout 4 was more reserved with it and it made for funny scenes due to the zany gore. If Starfield was to bring back then they should make it exclusive to the bosses and big named NPCs like Ron Hope for example.

I last played the game when the expansion release and recently I felt like giving it another chance, but I have two major issues that puts me off the game and I hope after two years mods have fixed it.One is the repeating content, do we have mods that expand the POI amount? The base game had identical POIs right next to each other sometimes and it fucking sucked, I like the flow of hoping POIs but I need variety. Two is the levelling, the skill trees are really boring, plus 10% damage increases or unlocking stuff that shouldn't be locked at all like the stealth meter and ship targeting. Is there a skill overhaul mod being worked? I looked up and found nothing of interest.

Skyrim and Fallout 4 by themselves are a rather unremarkable experience once everything is said and done, but through story and lore established by past games, modding, and engaging with the communities surrounding them, they're basically like living a second life. The potential is there for Starfield as well, but it doesn't fully realize it yet because it's the first of a new IP, and we're still pretty early into this game's life. There's some sense of community in a few places for it right now, but not as much. And there aren't anywhere near as many mods out for it right now that could really make you feel like you're living in it, at least not yet.
>>539099230Further proof that the only fault of Starfield is its fucking writing and worldbuilding. Emil is the fucking problem.
>>539099305Nah. It's also a space game without the space. The only time you spend in your ship is the few seconds it takes to approach a planet after you quick travel through some menus.
Starfield needs more gooner shit. Women are natural whores. There's no way the future would be that modest.
>>539099789You're pretty much gonna have to stop trying to fast travel everywhere and actually force yourself to fly around to the next planet at a snails pace or sit around and stare at nothing but the stars and nebulas to really experience space, because that's literally how it works irl. Not like some colossal cosmic eldritch cockroach horror is just going to pop up out of nowhere and rape your ship, inseminating it with live hungry babies that you have to exterminate
>>539100507It's got plenty of that through mods now, it's just more modest compared to the total bouncy half naked bimbofication we do to Skyrim's npcs.
>>539100880Yeah, but I want Bethesda to make gooner shit integrated into lore. Feels like fanfication otherwise.
>>539100640They just have to do what no mans sky does. The only time you travel via menu is going to a different system. While flying between planets you could come across POIs, run in to pirates or engage in some piracy yourself.
Starfield is for smart people with big dicks and small dicks.
>>539101293Bethesda for the record was never really blatant about gooner stuff even in past games, except for maybe Daggerfall since you could see naughty bits in that game when you undress, and New Vegas probably doesn't count because that was written by Obsidian. Anything else that could be interpreted as sexual leaned more into the PG-13 realm of suggestive themes, largely being hinted at through innuendos rather than being explicit. And it's the same case with Starfield, especially if you're romancing Sarah.
>>539101348Interplanetary Travel will likely be a thing in a later update judging by the CK datamining.
>>539103025>Bethesda for the record was never really blatant about gooner stuffBlatantly false. Woke liberals made them into prudes.
>>539103589Your post feels semi-serious, however I do agree that companies have shifted culturally. And, in my opinion, it's not for the better. The dogmatic (and often hypocritical) political correctness has been a disaster for art and media. Most popular IPs have been (essentially) killed by it.
>>539103589Safe horny quest
The only games where they have explicit sexual themes are Morrowind, Daggerfall and Fallout 3. The rest, especially Oblivion, are as sexless as they come.
>>539105198>The rest, especially Oblivion, are as sexless as they come.Wrong again you dirty animal
>>539105643Is that supposed to disagree with what I said? this is like /tesg/ posting the fur skyrim armor as a way to justify wearing "lore friendly" Victoria's Secret bikini with giant boobs and asses courtesy of [insert body mod here]
>>539105198I wouldn't call them sexless, the sex is just hidden in the details. Take Skyrim for example, several NPCs are engaged in secret relationships and affairs, like Olfina with Jon, Ahlam with Jenssen, Bolli with Haelga, Olda and her brother in law Lodvar, and some possible incest between Maven and Hemming. Then you got Dibella practitioners like Haelga prostituting themselves.
Trying to be as sexless as possible clears their name from unforeseen consequences in the future. What if someone took some of their writing and decided to make a controversial sex mod around them?
I wouldn't be surprised if they made Starfield as sexless as possible on purpose to make sex mods completely unreconcilable with the setting so as to make it offputting. Like the Astral Lounge is basically the opposite of sex. Its anti-sex. Being there makes me sober up.
Romance ans sex in games like these are a huge waste of time and resources which can be used for something elseAnd even if they did include direct sex references and even more romance people would still complain it is not detailed enough or that is doesn't cater to their specific preference or some other bullshit. Funnily enough Starfield even allows polyamory with Sarah and Adreja, but people don't even admit this. So why even bother this feature>in4 gay, woke tranny, sjw...
>>539112029Clearly that didn't work since we already have like 4 different sex frameworks right now
>>539114131This. Sex is always better in my head so don't bother putting janky animations because my mind has already made a 2 hours sex tape of me fucking Sarah.
>>539114321Starfield players are an autistic force unto themselves. On a separate note, which characters are driving players to want to fuck them? None of the characters have enough personality to make them even remotely attractive. I don't get it.
>>539114131>Romance ans sex in games like these are a huge waste of time and resources which can be used for something else
Starfield is a disaster
>>539115252U mad bro?
>>539116312I agree.
>>539114537>None of the characters have enough personality to make them even remotely attractive. I don't get it.To the average man, physical attraction matters to us more than personality does when it comes to choosing someone to have sex with, especially if it's a casual fling. A lot of dudes out there will outright pretend to listen to what a woman has to say if it means he can get her in bed faster, not knowing shit about her personality until he's in the refractory period.
>>539114131I personally don't care about romance and sex in games, but I do like gooner shit, like slutty (even subtle shit, like Fallout 4's vault suit) attire. Also, I only like the gooner shit if it feels real. Those crazy balloon tits mods don't feel real, and just feel tacky. I like immersive gooner shit.
>>539114131>Funnily enough Starfield even allows polyamory with Sarah and Adreja, but people don't even admit thisPolyamory is typical of progressive/LGBTQ+ culture, which Bethesda is definitely on the side of progressivism. So it's not surprising it being there.
>>539118517>giving the (mostly straight male) players two beautiful women >progressive/LGBTQ+ culture>In4 Sarah and Adreja aren't pretty
Like I said Todd game players don't appreciate the stuff they are given They tried to meme interacial fetish /pol/ memes into TES and Skyrim, but most in-game couples favor male Nords and Imperials. They also tried to accuse Fallout 4 even tough you started as two default European ethnic people in straight relationship. the actual LGBTQ+ faggots complained back then and modded that out.
>>539118517Only counts if you're a woman seeing multiple men.
StarLGBTQfield
>>539127445She cute thoughLGBTQ whatever usually make mullato/black women ugly
>>539117065>Average man>Starfield playersThat venn diagram is just two circles, bro.
>>539119975what?
>>539129289>She cute thoughno
Pretty cool mod Richard brought up in today's video if you want to spawn armies to help you assault enemy POIs, or create big faction wars. Though it's unfinished and you're shit out of luck if you wanted to get the Freestar Rangers to roll with you as the only major factions you can spawn through it right now is the UC and Crimson Fleet.https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/9879
>>539137209Why do people do this? I remmeber trying to set up epic battles in the Far Cry Map Editor and it was shit. And that had half-way competant AI. Watching Bethesda NPCs chaotically dodging nothing and hiding behind cover only to pop out WHEN the enemy is firing. Its so surface level and stupid. There's nothing to watch. The NPCs will just frantically run around shooting and die. Thats it. And don't think "Oh but its going to be on a huge scale though" because your computer will just slideshow the whole thing and it'll still be shit.
>>539137150
>>539137475It's the sensation of being part of a grand scale battle and the feeling of glory when you win it that people like, exactly why Mount and Blade, Total War, Musou and Call of Duty games are so popular. That being said, I tried that mod out for a bit, it is decent imo, though not really necessary if you're already a powerhouse. You can also set the NPCs as essential if you don't want them dying.>because your computer will just slideshow the whole thing and it'll still be shitThat's pretty much going to be a (You) problem.
They more or less function like actual followers, so they'll also fast travel with you, board ships, and you can manage their inventory
First time I've come across a helmeted variant
>>539127445Me on the left
Is your ship's design and name cool enough to be known throughout the cosmos?
>>539155020No my ship is a dumpster fire. Shipbuilding is a creative process and seeing all these good ships makes me insecure.
Got the patience to wait 99 days?https://x.com/BethesdaBeyond/status/1967324238991560739
>>539163019Eh, I waited for more than that
>>539127445the future must be bleak if people's tastes have devolved to the point where they made 4 of what I can only assume is a one-trick romcom
>>539137475>because your computer will just slideshow the whole thing and it'll still be shit.that hasn't been nearly as much of a problem for a few beth games now, the engine handles large amounts of actors far more gracefully these days than it did in the days of Oblivion or Morrowind
>>539164603Why look at the future? we got Fast And Furious and Marvel movies polluting the theaters
>>539137209Members of the Rangers are all named NPCs now that I think about it, it sort of makes sense for them to not be one of the spawnable factions.
Fancy Ass Gun
>>539166624You killed Kibwe Ikande.. you monster
>>539166764lol no I didn't, and you get that gun from the Freestar Rangers questline anyway
>>539166874You can get a revolver with fanning the hammer mod if you killed Ikande
>>539166764that's the ranger sidearm, sucks if you get it early
>>539167334Eh, maybe if I decide to side with the CF in one of the next universes.
The female floor cleaning animations are top notch
Emil is a good writer and I'm tired of hearing the opposite
Starfield is a good game. I'm tired of reality not reflecting the opposite.

Trailer at the game awards.
>>539176671this time for sureignore all the other times you've said it in 2025
>>539163019New patch will be announced with the ps5 launch to build hype. I doubt the shitch2 will be getting it or maybe they'll get a severely gimped version with no mod support
>>539177040no third person, no mod kit, no second expansion for you. :)meanwhile starfield chads will be taking on the terran armada :)
>>539168149No one cleans like that. this is just an excuse for Andreja to show her ass.
u-up
>>539168149>something something bethesda games are sexless
How do I find the in-game date?
>>539198193They are hiding it because you can sleep for months on certain planets. The only way you can access it is through mods
>>539198845But this wasn't a problem in the Elder Scrolls games? What the fuck?
>>539200130Elder scrolls time jumps aren't as egregious
>>539198845I guarantee nobody thought of that. Its not to obfoscate the fact that you can sleep for months. Its because they never thought to include the date, despite establishing the day Starfield's story begins. Its far more likely an oversight than a deliberate choice, knowing this game.
>>539200336>No one thought of including the date when they deliberately removed it from their wait menu
>>539200891It was probably removed while they pinned down the date and then they forgot to reimplement it
>>539201207You worked with them?
>>539202594Yes.
>>539169586He's a bit *too* simplistic for my tastes. His games always feel like they lack enough intellectual satisfaction. For example, I think New Vegas strikes a nice balance. I'm not saying New Vegas is a "smart game," but rather the characters and the events they're a part of feel more fleshed out.
>>539163019Is this even legit?
>>539206471The 2012 Mayan boogaloo calculations were better substantiated than this dude's tweet.
>>539200336>>539198845It's not just sleep though, right? Traveling between planets with no grav drive will also eat up days/weeks. Won't it?Also, why isn't sleep selected in UT time? Makes no sense to select local hours
>>539207950>Traveling between planets with no grav drive will also eat up days/weeks. Won't it?You tell me. Does time pass when you jump?
>>539203759This game does a lot of telling you stuff (Barett is played up as this swashcukling adventurer always getting into scraps) but doesn't ever actually show you this. Even your character talks about him like that's what he's like when you talk to Lin and Heller in his recruitment quest when, at that point, you will only have met him in the intro for one conversation and a gunfight in which miners die.
>>539211301>swashcuklingkek I didn't mean to type that but okay
Quick on the draw, but not really quick enoughhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtP7yH7l87w
That Terrormorph really fucked these people up
>>539207950It didn't use to but they fixed it and update
I.... catastrophic damage...
Sigh.. What a mess is Starfield...
What is THE best SINGLE quest in this game? Discounting the four main factions, Shittered Spazz and creations. Anything no smaller than one single quest to no bigger than Groundpounder.
>>539220510That one where you hang up posters to save the failing mining business of that black Japanese guy in Neon
That one where you hang up posters of Vae Victis
If any of you have been having a weird issue where objects kept randomly spawning near youfor some reason, looks like it's a known issue with Forgotten Frontier 2 according to it's author
>>539225358And he hasn't fixed it?
>>539226089Nope, probably unable to isolate the issue since the Reddit posts I read on it were made about 3 months ago
So I gotta get up early in the morning
>>539236712Okay?
>>539239191https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aobIboK_z34
>>539239502Fuck off?
>>539240162Nah
>>539226182Wow, he just stole our money like that
>>539245210You can try to refund the mod if you want to. Do note that Bethesda will only refund your Todd Bucks, not your actual money.
>>539245210I got it for free btw
Is Starfield good now?
>>539252765You know it fucking isn't, troll.
>>539225358So that's what has been happening. I know my game is completely fucked when the NPC's that run the stores in Jemison don't talk to me. I have to uninstall and reinstall everything.
>Marika and Autumn are clearly into you even though you can't romance them (yet)>by default they have the thiccest looking body types among female crew members >they look great when combined with ZoNEs Beautiful Body and CRT – SKINSI simply lucked out
So what was the point of only having four romanceable companions anyway?
>>539257016It was to show that even with a thousand planets to explore, your chances of finding love are still pretty slim.
>>539257016One or more of the following1. Likely to sell you more down the road2. Too lazy to add more characters to the Unity epilogue3. Wasn't in the budget to pay more actors to record lines for romance
Besides Walter and Issa, how many confirmed couples are there (presently) living in the Settled Systems?
>>539257484Off the top of my head:1. Donna Rain and her boyfriend whose name I forgot2. The couple who runs the shop at the Neon Core3. That red head working at CeltCorp and the black guy who runs that mining store on Neon4. The lesbians that owns that farm a ways out from Dazra5. Those gay guys who run a shop in the Lower Ebbside area6. That woman and the fat black guy who run the Chunks on Titan7. Several couples on the ECS Constant8. Naeva and Jazz9. Bobby Katz parents10. Your parents11. Those gay guys from a ship encounter12. The woman on Akila who wants you to sabotage her husband's beer13. That poor couple living in The Stretch with their daughter14. Myka who runs Euphorika and her lesbian girlfriend who you can get arrested during the SysDef/CF questline15. Alternate universe Barrett and Ervin

The UC lost because of the homoeroticism of paying taxes and getting told what to do. They submitted because of their inherited submissiveness.
>>539305405"It's a clash of civilizations, you see - one of the homoerotic submissive - the so-called bottom, if you will - the UC is just one big pit of unfulfilled desires, seeing as how there isn't a single drop of the dominant will found on any settlement, any planet, enough to satisfy anyone! And then there's those Freestar Cowboys - I mean, my god, that top energy so lacking in the US is built-in to their aesthetic sensibility, their symbolism, their iconography! The prototypical frontiersman! I say again, the Colony War wasn't metal against metal, or, perhaps I should say, metal rubbing up against Terrormorphic musculature and appendagery - it was the UC getting want it wanted by pseudo-reluctantly - by roleplaying someone who feigned reluctance while willingly taking Freestar cock up their own deprived ass!"
