Kingmaker is a more classic adventure.
Wrath leans way more heavily into the power fantasy. It also has far more things to consider in character creation so it can be overwhelming if you don't have experience in the system which you can get form playing Kingmaker.

Another consideration is that it will be harder to go from WotR -> KM, due to the QoL things introduced in WotR. So, if you're confident you'll want to play both, I'd start with KM just for that reason.

>>538337739
Play on Normal, even customize the difficulty easier if you need to. You can adjust it at any time even in combat (same with TB vs RTwP)
Don't be overwhelmed with the options, just pick what you think seems cool. Decide what role you want to play and stick to a lane: ranged archer, blaster wizard, martial, whatever.

There's a few things that aren't necessarily clear to new players, just randomly a few:
- There's a -4 penalty for shooting (or casting ranged touch attack) into combat, this requires Precise Shot to get rid of, which itself requires Point Blank Shot. So, decide early if you want to be shooting into combat or not. A debuffing wizard won't need to, for instance. Ranged attack absolutely wants this of course, and wizards using ranged touch attack spells.
- There's AC, Touch AC, and Flat-Footed. Touch AC is for touch attacks of course, and is much lower than AC itself. Flat-Footed is for surprise rounds or if someone's held or whatever.
- Getting up from prone procs an Attack of Opportunity. Casting a spell in melee range *might* but there's a "defensive casting" roll.

Honestly there's tons of little tips and tricks and gotchas, but you can play on Normal and unless you're being a major dum-dum you don't need to think about it really, or you'll pick it up as you go.

tldr: Play on Normal, pick and do what you think is cool, but try to have characters pick a lane and stay in it for the most part.

and actually the biggest tip is to hover on the rolls in the status window to see what contributed, this will teach a lot about why something hit/missed.
Right-clicking the statusbar or the enemy info if you have Inspect on (you should) will make it a window you can look at a bit easier.

Eldar used to like Tau, because Tau were a secret uplift project of the Eldar, intended as a client race to use against the mon-keigh.
But then the Tau turned out to dislike the Eldar intensely, regarding them as a race of interfering nuisances who talked in riddles and acted arrogantly.
Offended, the Eldar turned away from the Tau and pretend they don't exist.

You're kind of just fucked. The pathfinder system has so much bullshit in it and as a new player you have no idea what items, permanent buffs, and enemies exist.

If I had to give one piece of advice though it's to stack as many buffs with unique adjectives as possible. You'll see shit like enhancement, morale, insight, etc. and as long as the adjective is unique it stacks. If two buffs have the same adjective then only the highest counts.

Have fun
there's some janky shit here and there but overall I have fond memories of playing it for the most part

The only tip I have off the top of my head is that everyone will basically need to have Blind Fight at some point, maybe by around level 6 or so.
That's not a "metastrategy" thing, more like you will just be completely fucked without it when the time comes due to the way they implemented a certain mechanic.
>>
>>538337739
I didn't read the other responses, but CC (Crowd Control) is your friend. The high damage spells may look appealing, but they're not that good. Spells that look kind of boring or simple, like Grease and Hold Person, are notoriously strong and you should be using them, even at high levels. Also, in general, casters are much stronger than martials (fighters, rogues, etc.). You still want martials (think auto-attackers), because they do most of the damage. But your casters will control the battlefield immensely, and amplify your martials through buffs, summons, CC, and debuffs on the enemy that act as very effective force multipliers. In general, buffs are VERY good too. Having +4 Strength may not seem very attractive or flashy, but often equates to a +10% chance to hit and +2 damage for your dudes, which is quite good.

Need some clarification with Rogue Trader and Cassia. Just started the game last week. I had the full intention of trying to romance Argenta, so I did not choose any flirty dialogue with Cassia. I come to find out that you cannot romance Argenta. Am I locked out of Cassia's romance permanently now?
>>
>>538350497
You get a couple of chances. Talking to her on the bridge and it's something like
>my feelings for your are more than mere admiration, Lady Cassia
or some shit like that. Try talking to her on the bridge and see what comes up.
How far have you proceeded in the game? If you've missed it, you could always mess around with toybox to manually activate her romance. You could just look up the etude (script) name for her romance and turn it on.

>>538350497

>>
>>538350497
time to settle for Jae you're both fuck-ups it will all work out
>>
>>538350497
If you're pretty early on you'll get a second chance
If not, open toybox (default is control-f10) and go Search 'n Pick -> Etdues -> All and search for Cassia Romance Active
Then hit Start, and remember to press Save, then Close in the bottom left.
I haven't tried this for Cassia's romance specifically, but this is generally how you use toybox and it should work.
If you haven't installed Toybox, I highly recommend it

I was reading about T'au lore and didn't know that they only live for 40 years. If you did have a T'au wife, it'd only be for a decade at most. And she probably wouldn't even live to see her children graduate high school. The even weirder thing is that there's a sizable portion of the Human Allies in the T'au Empire that are older than every living T'au(especially when the humans aren't dying young because of poor living conditions in the Imperium).

Holly shitte dudes, multimillion dollar CRPG idea.
WotR/Kingmaker style crpg with a home base but you send out multiple separate parties of characters + mercs to go out in the open world rather than just taking 5 out of your 25 possible companions with you, or using shitty "cards" and "armies" to solve problems. Obviously story-dependant acts like WotR Act 4 and story/companion-relevant locations like Ivory Sanctum stay the same.

I was going for the "It Itches" achievement, but the rash was actually cured like any other injury when I returned to the bridge lol. I think that's a bug because other playthroughs I've had to go to the chapel and pray to remove it. But when I'm actually trying to keep it, it is cured by accident/a bug. Classic owlcat.

I also don't have the "kill 3 people with rend vision" achievement despite doing that several times this playthrough and my previous playthrough, with both the player character and Cassia, so that one is also bugged.

I also don't have the "be self sufficient in the blood investigation" despite doing every stage myself and never skipping any of the stages by delegating it to Jocasta. I've done the dlc three times now without delegating anything and not getting the achievement, which leads me to believe you can't let any one do literally anything. So you can't let Pasqal convince the tech priest to give you access to the computer, you can't let the enforcer conduct the autopsy, you can't let Jocasta kill the cultist, etc. I think you have to do literally everything, even dialogue, yourself.

One other achievement that has been elusive is to visit every optional location. I've played the game 4 times and I've gone to all the secret locations I know of like Incendia's stasis pod and the drukhari stash on the ice turret planet and the halo device noble and a ton of others. I really am at a loss for what I'm missing, I suppose I'll have to look that up online.

I really don't want to get the two chaos achievements. There's one for beating the game as conviction chaos and one for surrendering Euphrates to chaos. A whole playthrough of being a retard just for some achievements.

Biting 7 people in one turn with the mastiff will also take some figuring out. I've only bit like 4 people before running out of ap so there must be a trick to it.

I'm so close, I'm excited to 100% this game.

He could do that because of the fantasy of the siegfriedian faustian nietzschean overman warrior who defies the gods and stands victorious.

Dunmer because they're pretty much the only race that was ever given an interesting backstory (Chimer, War of the First Council), interesting politics (Great Houses inspired by Israeli tribes, settler/nomadic Ashlander split), interesting religion (Daedra/Tribunal), interesting culture/customs (slavery, Morag Tong), a distinct voice (until it was retconned) and aren't manlets. They're the closest any RPG race ever got from breaking with Tolkeinesque tropes and archetypes without being outright silly (like the Argonians & Khajiit).

You shouldn't take any of these combat systems so literally. Just like how AC can be anything from a dodge to a glancing blow HP damage doesn't actually have to represent you taking serious damage unless the game has an actual wounds system.
>>
>>538374937
>Remember the flower of French nobility were slain in their armour by longbowmen at Agincourt.
This stupid myth again
People confuse the fictional Agincourt from Shakespeare's Henry V with the irl Agincourt.
The longbowmen forced the knights to dismount and struggle through mud, under constant physical impact from arrow strikes. This caused them to tire and fall easily to pikemen. Few knights were killed directly by an arrow penetrating their armor.
>>538374524
>It would hurt like a bitch regardless.
Yes and that's why the French knights at Agincourt lost, getting beaten up by arrow strikes.
>>
>>538375223
Okay, let's play that game. Fall damage in Pathfinder caps out at 20d6. If you have more than 60 hit points (average for an 8th level fighter with 14 CON), you will survive a fall at terminal velocity so long as the damage roll is average.
If your GM lets you take the max HP roll at every level, then at 10th level that fighter with 14 CON has 120 HP, meaning that he cannot die from fall damage, unless the GM rules that the ground rolled 20 sixes in a row. Even then, he'd only be unconscious at 0 hit points
So what literal situation is the combat system representing here? Is the fighter actually dodging the ground? Was it only a glancing fall?

Not according to the rules he doesn't. He's prone after the fall, but not in any way incapacitated. He spends one move action getting up and then walks away on his own two feet.
And then he stubs his toe and instantly dies, because he only had one hitpoint left.
>>
>>538376241
>The better way is to make wounds incredibly dangerous, but also make characters easy to replace.
That's more-or-less XCOM. I enjoy XCOM a lot but it's not a roleplaying game. You can't roleplay in a satisfying way if you're constantly churning through characters. There needs to be a credible threat of death but a decent average life expectancy for party members. This goes doubly so for CRPGs because without a player roleplaying a party member, you have to write the character ahead of time. How many extra characters are you going to write to serve as replacements in your incredibly lethal system?

It's not about realism, it's about fun. Permadeath makes combat fun by raising the stakes, but it's unsatisfying in general due to the way these games are written - unless you don't care at all about the story companions and are happy to play with interchangeable mercenaries/hirelings/etc.

I don't think there's a happy medium between the traditional CRPG approach, in which death is just another temporary status effect and anything less than a total party wipe is just an inconvenience, and the XCOM approach where you're expected to lose significant numbers of characters throughout the game and permadeath is a core part of the design.

Age of Decadence felt more like a puzzle than a crpg.
There was one optimal path of skill allocation and dialogue choice that allowed you to reach the necessary skills required to pass the meaningful checks.
You spam new runs until you figure it out and then you're able to progress.

Even if you go full combat-tard the only thing you're really changing is what weapon you're using. You still need to know when to upgrade secondary skills and at what time in order to branch off of the default storylines into the higher tier ones.

It's not all on Owlcat's shoulders, it feels more like all RPG devs feel the need to fill the party with quirky or snowflake characters as if they think people can't connect to them if they were Joe the human fighter or Dave the alcoholic dwarf. It's been going on since Baldur's Gate 2, at least. And then there are devs who I think aim for the maximum fan engagement and go overboard with the cast of snowflakes (looking at Baldur's Gate 3 here) or intentionally want to go against the grain... and go overboard with the cast of snowflakes (KOTOR 2, Pillars of Eternity, Mask of the Betrayer, etc.)
>>
Did people also seethe about BG2 making rpgs more accessible
>>
>>538387283
Not really, they just enjoyed how much more personality the characters had
>>
>>538376241
At that point, why not just play proper wargames?
>>
>>538386479
I do see there's annoying quirkiness in BG2's cast, but it isn't just quirkiness that I'm getting at, I think, since I still find Minsc tolerable.

It isn't really that they're snowflakes either. Its that they seem to be written obnoxiously. I just got to encountering Jubilost for instance and he's incredibly offputting. I know these games lately let you attack some of these party members outright at least, and I could remove Jubilost from the party after recruiting him, but I feel as though the game would've been better without the character in the first place as it doesn't fit my character's roleplay to just attack everything written obnoxiously.

>KOTOR 2...Mask of the Betrayer
I don't remember feeling that way about KotOR 2 and Mask though its been some time since I played them, I might have to go through them again to see if its my tastes that changed.

In Pillars however I didn't feel this way but I did feel bored by the characters outside of Aloth, Eder and Grieving Mother, instead of completely put off or irritated like I do with later crpgs.

>>

>>
>>538386479

>>
>>538389897
Replacing the party with mercenaries is to do with still getting some fun out of building my own party ala IWD because the default game companions were too unlikeable to enjoy the experience with.

Its not ideal because it loses a lot of companion quests and companion commentary but if the companions are irritating then I'd rather not have those things than have them and be annoyed. But I do like those things, were they done well.
>>
>>538389190
I don't have a problem with Minsc either, since he's the comedic relief character, but comparing the recruitable people in BG1 and BG2, the cast turning quirkier is easy to spot. How many people remember people like Ajantis, Kivan, Branwen or Yeslick (ISO standard paladin, angry ranger, cleric you had to know how to recruit in the first place, the most milquetoast dwarf priest in Faerun), for example? In 2, it seems that everyone has a personality quirk that's blown out of proportions. The druid is a werewolf, Jan is a gnome who keeps banging on about turnips and his family, Aerie is the rarest sort of elf from across the world and is all about her wings, Haer'dalis is an urban fantasy stereotype from another plane, etc. Even the characters I like have this laser-like fixation on something and they won't stop: Keldorn and his duty, Nalia and her CG ways of trying to make things better, Mazzy and her dead fiancee (all right I can give her that because that sort of shit would suck).

When it comes to KOTOR 2, I mean that every party member was so completely aimed at turning the normal, KOTOR 1 style party (your Han, Chewie, R2, etc.) on its head. There's Kreia - basically a mouthpiece for Avellon to voice what he think sucks in SW - for a first, the galaxy's worst Sith ever (Visas), the Han is now an edgy ex-assassin, a droid crime boss, etc.
>>
Imagine relying on companions that are already premade for you. Grow a spine and build your own party.
>>
>>538386479
crpg devs realized that giving you a variety of different companions that represent different parts of the lore or have some connection to the plot is a better way to do exposition and get you invested in the story than dry info dumps

It's why I loved Solasta's "you can't believe the bullshit that happened to me on the way here" opening, current tech actually can give yourdudes some more personality instead of having to hunt for Elmore or Caldwell art for the next Icewind Dale party.
>>

I can see your point, Haer'dalis and Aerie especially, as well as the trope subversion in KotOR 2.

I think it just didn't cross my threshold for irritation so I still liked those even though it was creeping in since then, as you point out. Until we get to present day where it feels every new character is blown out like the writers got all their material from literal RP chatrooms and VTT campaigns instead of fleshing things out more professionally, at least with Owlcat.

>Biting 7 people in one turn with the mastiff will also take some figuring out.
I did this one on that planet with the infinitely respawning Necrons. Basically what I did was have Biomancer Idira give an extra turn with metabolic overcharge to Solomorne, since her psy rating was in the 20's he got 20 something AP, in order to avoid the self damage I had Solomorne end his turn by using Entrench, this stores your current AP until you use Run N' Gun. Finally when Solomorne's actual turn came I used Run N' Gun and had like 30 AP to order the dog around. The it was just a matter of biting 7 Necrons and that was it.

I saved Marazhai this playthrough and he's surprisingly dull. Doesn't react too much to things that should interest him like meeting Tervantias again or that frozen planet with the deldar
>>
>>538392019
On the contrary, I found Jae, Idira, and Marazhai completely offputting as well as a many of the non-companion/lesser-NPC writing in various scenes.
Ulfar almost crossed the threshold for me too. I found Pasqal boring though felt he had potential. I didn't like that genestealer engineer either. The late chapter optional companions I felt should've been fleshed out better but that's maybe a different topic.

I would say they did better with Rogue Trader by comparison to their pathfinder games but its still present, its more half and half there. I haven't tried the new arbites dlc though I'm not too into arbites as a faction so I'm not very inclined to get it.
>>

It honestly annoys me how Skald is just a better bard 99% of the time. Bard has only 2 advantages: competence bonus for ranged attackers and fascinate. Both are much better in Kingmaker than they are in Wrath, too. Especially with Best Jokes now working. Skald even has a better character model.

Ulfar was fucked by nu-40k Space Wolves fluff. Unfortunately they're about the only chapter you could have him belong to and also be part of a Rogue Trader's retinue for any length of time. So Owlcat's hands were tied there and I don't blame them for leaning fully into the characterisation that was essentially dictated to them. What's particularly stupid is that Dark Heresy includes rules for a Grey Knight, so they could have ditched the Space Marine for RT and included another heretical/xenos character.

Jae is a nothingburger and a disappointment considering all the possibilities the setting offers. Keeping Idira around is realistically unconscionable after the first warp event. Marazhai is highly optional and if we were in a pre-internet age I bet most players would still kill him at the first opportunity without even realising he can be recruited.

>Keeping Idira around is realistically unconscionable after the first warp event.
You get fucking demonic summonings within your ship every 3 warp jumps, and the Void Shadows dlc includes you willingly ripping open the barrier between the warp and real space within one of the most critical chambers in your ship.
>>
>>538399195
>What sort of person would keep him around?
A Rogue Trader who cares about nothing but showing off to others that they've got a xenos pet.
Rogue Traders are supposed to be vain like that.
>>
>>538399173
>these problems can be rectified, of course, but to do that, we will nee to drive the blacks
Was that really necessary Paralictor?
>>
And also, while this is metagaming, RP is the only reason to recruit him, as Marazhai is the only character that is legitimately useless. His entire build philosophy does not work in the game's combat system. He does nothing.
>>
>>538399173
Any time you start to feel Regill has a point and maybe he knows how to run things better, remember the Hellknights were and still are during the game the most ineffective of all the forces fighting in the Crusades, that need your help not just to get anything done but even to survive, and that his entire questline AND Sosiel's questline is exclusively about the Hellknights inconveniencing you or failing to pull their weight.

>>
>>538401648
I'm trying to think in-character here, not what happens in-game. You're trapped in hostile territory with no outside help. A local who previously held a very high position of power finds himself trapped in a very similar situation to your own and is willing to form a temporary alliance. Having a local on your side is a great asset because they can help you understand the territory and the culture, you could also have them act as a diplomat of sorts, should the need arise.

Curb your dogmatard tendencies for a second. I'm not even saying you should *always* recruit Marazhai if you're all about purging the xenos for the emprah 100% of the time. But rather that a temporary alliance until you escape Commoragh makes sense in-character if you're playing a pragmatist or an Iconoclast. Beyond that I agree with you and there is almost no reason to keep Marazhai alive beyond just wanting to see all his content.

'Precarious co-operation' between Eldar and humanity is an old trope of 40k, so Yrliet make sense. Eldar are supposed to have mysterious and enigmatic aims which may occasionally align with the Imperium's, particularly against Chaos.

But a Dark Eldar is a step too far, unless GW have nuked the fluff again since I wasn't looking. It was a dumb choice. They should have had the Dark Heresy Kroot, or a Tau, or a Lacrymole or some other underused non-faction Xenos race. They should haveg given RT all the Xenos companions and saved the SoB and the Space Marine for Dark Heresy.

The game kind of presents a bad picture of what a Rogue Trader's crew is like by throwing a bunch of loyalists at you in act 1 so a criminal that helps you make trade deals with the different factions feels like the outlier. Also her situation when you recruit her should be made more clear to the player so you know it's just dick measuring within a gang on Footfall and everyone is a criminal including the guards that come to arrest her at the end.

Shoulda had something like Octavia let you ask about the situation from a third party's perspective and flatly spell out that everyone is in the same criminal org and after Jae lost support from her last patron (Mercy) one of her rivals (Falco) got the go ahead from Vlad to steal all her shit.

But returning to the vidya context, Solasta will not have companions to get bear sex on with, so that is another thing that will not attract casuals.
I have seriously not seen any indication that BG3 has led to a resurgence of people appreciating DnD ruleset for vidya and wanting more of that specifically, instead of nearly everything else BG3 actually offers

Is Dark Heresy Radical alignment gonna be "path to hell is paved with good intentions" or delusional chaos worshiper ?
>>
>>538426643
Wait for the game to come out.
>>
>>538426643
Spectrum of Radical/Puritan.

As for game implementation, reactivity to specific choices, and how far you lean into either or don't, determines reactions , is my guess
>>
Iconoclast for most choices and Dogmatic for a few big choices.
>>
>>538426132
Oh, I see what you are saying. The hit penalty is worth taking in order to have a high crit range waepons that both benefit from your feat improvements. It is only -2 with the mythic. Though actually using two weapons before getting mythic two weapon fighting may not be a great idea on hard. Dual scimitars or rapiers is the way to go.
>>
>>538426643
The idea of a Radical inquisitor is just a fleshing out of the old Buckminster Fuller quote: "Those who play with the Devil's toys will be brought by degrees to wield his sword." There's endless ways to make a corruption story compelling, if the writers are up to the task. The presence of Black Science Lady and yet-another-fucking-Eldar unfortunately indicates that they are, however, not.

Alternatively you could write a compelling path in which a radical does in fact resist the temptations of Chaos effectively and achieves some great deed his puritan counterparts could not, albeit making some enormous personal sacrifice in the process perhaps.
>>
>>538426643
If it's anything like the tabletop game, there's going to be a spectrum on how mad you are ranging from "slightly" to "Oblationist".
>>
>>538427016
>It is only -2 with the mythic.
Yeah but idk a character wouldn't wield an off-hand one-handed weapon if he didn't know how to do it properly, in universe
>>
>>538427414
>the presence of Black Science Lady
How does the presence of a tech human in the retinue affect that?
>>
>get to ship combat
>quit game
Why has every fucking side mechanic they've added gotten worse? I don't want to play your shitty get chased around simulator whilst being unable to attack.
>>
How do people build characters around the exotic weapons in WotR? I'm most of the way through the game now and I swear I have never seen some of the weapon types.
>>
>>538427650
Ship combat is the best though
>>
>>538427650
Naval combat is better than crusade mode
>>
>>538427669
Well, as the only mundane characteristic that matters is critical range, this means that you either take Exotic Weapon Proficiency Kukri or Fauchard at level 1 or 2 depending on how you are getting it. Then you play your dual wield or two handed character as normal.
>>
>>538427669
Dueling Sword (Drezen Paladin) + Estoc (Arueshalae Quest Hag) dual wield faggots represent
>>
>>538427763
>>538427854
You could just use Setsuna and ignore the entire mechanic. This is way worse since you're forced to engage with it.
>>
>>538427872
What I mean is there are so many different weapon types you can pick feats for, but half of those weapons don't actually seem appear in the game.
>>
>>538427669
Drezen merchants alone cover a fuck lot.
I just made a mental note first run over a few cool items, like some monk sais/quartestaffs, cuved elven blade, fauchard etc.
Plus finnean is always there
>>
Why didn't they make the crusade mini game a heros of might and magic clone? Aren't they slavs they should be able to do that in their sleep.
>>
>>538427650
Agree ship combat is terrible. I wouldn't mind it if they would just give us the ability to skip it like they do with the Pathfinder minigames.
>>
>>538427990
Even with a mage general, you need to bother with stacks for some bigger armies especially if you do not ywant to waste months trung to rest to restore MP plus covering the capital from invading army. It's still a hassle.

And ship combat is actually good, not just discount HoMM 5 against 95% inferno enemeis with your progress resseting.
>>
>>538428028
Finnean can only be transformed into a minority of the weapon types
>>
>>538428109
The people at owlcat are fake slavs.
>>
Why not rename this general into /ocg/ since 90% of the discussion is about WotR+RT? honest question
>>
>>538428210
He transforms into whatever profs the wielder has, IIRC
>>
I liked the ship combat and some of the battles are actually challenging. What's worthless is the silly colony management system which effectively plays itself.
>>
>>538428320
So if you want to talk about other games instead of just whinging or shitposting, you are free to do so
>>
>>538428356
Colony was a bit more interesting when you had limited slots for projects (aka, you could not them all barring ones that exclude otehrs) and keeping up stats was harder to qualify.
Now, it's just a waiting game and choosing your universal bonuses/rewards

Because once solasta 2 comes out it will be 90% solasta discussion and when the next iron tower game that they have been teasing comes out 90% of the general will be talking about that, also I've seen a few anons metion secret of the weepstone and it seems like it will be similar to skald (small inde using retro mechanics with a cool looking aesthetic) so I imagine it will get a decent buzz when it comes out.
>>
nobody gives a shit about solasta dude
>>

>>
>>538429047
I do. For the user campaigns, 1 had a few cool ones
>>
>>538429047
Solasta is in the op for a reason, its probably the second best combat fag crpg right after knights of the chalice.
>>
There's no one here excited for a new iron tower game. Nobody played colony ship and nobody is going to play whatever their new game is.
>>
>>538428915
Speaking of Skald, I absolutely loved it. Made me think of the days of playing Nahlakh.
>>
>>538428915
>Because once solasta 2 comes out it will be 90% solasta discussion
It won't. You'll get like three people talking about it and one posting about their progress.
>Iron Tower
Same thing. You overestimate what games people here play.
>>
>>538429297
We have even had blogposting about Colony ship runs though
>>

>>538429942
You give up casts, smites and mercies IIRC.
I guess it's not so bad since there are fewer evil enemies in Kingmaker and pets are obviously potent
>>
>>538429297
>>538429530
I think both of them had the same issue.
The only way to play optimally is to know in advance what skill checks you need and what order to do quests so that you can get the xp to pass those skill checks.

Playing blind always boiled down to the same thing.
>oh wow a new quest
>oh I don't have X in Y skill
>I guess I can't do that quest
>oh I guess that quest is unavailable now because I progressed too far
>oh I over leveled Z skill, I guess I'll remember that for next time

I think the point is to encourage replayability, but as a consequence it makes the first run really unsatisfying and subsequent runs like going through the paces for the optimal outcome.
>>
>>538430061
click the enemy and damage happens is peak combat and the only thing you should care about
>>
>>538430186
I went through both games blind on my first playthrough I just got one of the mid tier endings both times.
