So I'm a little confused by the "Craft and Convert Cores" workbench. I initially thought it was just paying to combine lower tier cores into higher tier cores, but I have a bunch of 1-9 cores and don't have the option to craft a 10. Is it more complicated than that?

Luna weaknesses I've noticed so far
>she gets cockblocked by really dense waves of mobs, esp. if they're tanky like in axion
>this makes her really hard to use in small areas
>shielded mobs force you to constantly circle around since you can't damage them
>she can't damage yellow barriers without having to awkwardly stop her dance and pull out a gun
>compared to other descendants who can use their gun and their skills at the same time
>her beams only shoot in a line, so she can only hit 1 mob per beam and she can't hit enemies behind walls or cover, making her mobbing performance really slow compared to actual aoe nukers
Despite her being the latest dps goddess this makes her fairly balanced all things considered.

So like, imagine a power strength mod, a HP mod, and an armour mod, but they are better than the base mods by about 1.4x, but with each one you put on you they get even better up to like 2.3x. Also they have a another set effect where they make you resistant to one specific faction that's basically never relevant.
That's Umbra mods.
The drawback is that they use a special Umbra polarity which is a limited time resource you can only get once or twice a month and you'll need 2 or 3 to fit a full build in each frame, otherwise you'll have to trade off a mod or two.

Yellow shields seem to have some sort of timer. If the mob strays too far from the one creating the shield, it disappears for them and the shield transfers to another mob. Only noticed this for luna because you move a lot with mobs chasing you all the time.

Oh shields in void vessel are different. Those are just elemental shields. You can brute force and break them. Blue and yellow shields in void vessel and spec op need to be broken by either by guns or arche.

The only thing I can think is that they are ticking damage before the shield effect activates as they spawn. Yellow shields can only be damaged by guns, while blue shields can be damaged by skills, the Voltia, or guns with the Veil Analyzer module.

Am I tripping or does Luna/Ultimate Luna kinda suck?

Like yeah she can put out good damage and the buffs/debuffs are kinda nice but she feels mostly just like a turret with no CC or good mobility/evasion.

Also having to actually perfectly time things feels like it should be more rewarding than it actually is.

That and I think she should be able to do custom music.

Ult Luna with battlefield concert is a very low ceiling, high reward character that is probably one of the cheapest character to build right now.
She can shit out a ton of damage from across the room but handles poorly from enemies with a ton of knockbacks or shields. She also can only shoot in front of her so she's not as good in mobbing compared to characters who can do aoe in a wide circle. She's basically high voltage bunny with insane damage but not as much mobility, but she is still fast enough to strafe around most enemies in the game. Storm Hanger's orbs literally can't catch up to her if you just move in a circle while shooting him.

I figured she might feel worse than Serena but I was surprised that she felt worse than Valby too. I thought she would be more involved with a rhythm game and so on. I guess it just feels kinda lame to only be a turret with no depth and all your guns are pointless because you can't even use them while in the turret mode which you want to be in all the time. It's like playing a character with 1 button. I wish there was a way to make her more invovled and with better feeling mobility. Jumping and grappling in Battlefield Concert feels weird and dumb looking. It's frustrating because I love how I made my Ult Luna look and I want to play her more but she feels like a letdown. I'd never touched regular Luna before but I can't imagine how bad that must've been before she got the new mods with her Ultimate.

If you want a more involved Luna then don't play Battlefield Concert, you can try Noise Surge as an alternative instead. People's issue with regular Luna was how involved she was to the detriment of the game's core gameplay. It had you play an annoying rhythmn game while having to avoid monsters and shooting them.
BC is a direct response to make Luna easier to play.

Also as you can see in the webm, just mindlessly shooting off key was an easy way to run through your mp and you're left defenseless. There's a reason why she's easily the least popular character to play. She was a complete chore to use and wasn't very useful either since her buffs were negligible when everyone was using broken copypaste builds while noise surge was discount Bunny with extra steps while not being able to shoot your gun.
Honestly come to think of it, Luna always felt like discount Bunny.
