The obsession with hard pities comes from Hoyo gachas with sub-1% rates where luck doesn't exist. The rates are so microscopically low that you're not really rolling on a gacha and relying on luck anymore, you are simply buying the character with the amount of rolls required for the guarantee. You will never get it early, you will never get it for cheap, and you also won't even get the consolation of filling up your roster with spooks, because every single character is limited. With just the monthly pass, you get around 1000 rolls a year (with free rolls on limited banners included). That's enough rolls to get nearly all new ops as they are released. All you have to do is ignore bait banners like kernel, standard, orienteering, and reruns.
