You can enjoy Deltarune as a standard conflict of character vs character/situation or whatever too, I just think it's fun to enjoy another layer of conflict in addition to defeating evil, saving the world, and getting laid. And I hope at the end we get to defeat Kris, who is also evil. The Homestuck reader would recognize the multiple types of conflict and meta present in Deltarune between reader/player, author, and characters...

I do appreciate Toby using Noelle and Susie talking about Dragon Blazers to say he doesn't think anybody who did genocide was a "bad person" and used Asriel and Alvin to point how video games arent "real" and your moral character shouldn't be judged for them. I think the issue with Undertale is its super fucking meta and wants you to treat the characters a bit counterintuitively because Tobias "subverting le rpg mechanics" Foxington though Moon was clever even if he never played the game. Even if it isnt finished a pattern is emerging in Deltarune that I think the theme is "even if fiction isnt real your feelings and experiences thorugh it are" with the dark world representing a fictional altered state of fantasy and wonder while hometown is a shitty sleepy place that barely exists.
