Even on my 7870 in the mid 2010s I targeted 60fps no matter what. >>538701987I believe it's a bit of both. You can't use certain spells unless you have the correct requirement of magicka, and obviously the more magicka you have the more power you can output. Say a powerful mid tier spell costs 50 magicka, but you only have 50 yourself, that means you can output a lot of damage but you can only use it every 10 minutes or whatever. That gives you the option of either using it once or continuing to use lower level spells since you can use those more reliably. It's bit like magical stamina. In daggerfall is there a way to use destruction without resting constantly? I've been saving, blowing my entire mana bar on one enemy, then resting it back but it makes individual dungeons take like multiple in game weeks which is no good for quests. I haven't been able to find magicka potions or anything like that, and my damage even with 50% destruction usually seems to require casting like 9+ spells to kill anything. I'm guessing the Morrowind trick of getting 100% absorb and using AOEs on yourself still works, but I imagine absorbs out of my price range at level 3. I gave myself stereotypical wizard kind of stats so I have rather bad strength (like 35?) and no real weapon skills, but would fortifying strength or something be an option maybe? Should I just keep lightning stuff on fire til Destruction is higher?
