A question, since I need to some clarity about the Devil ending. If V decides to go back to Earth instead of being digitalized, or something like that, what proof do we have that he will die? From what I gather, the tests were just Arasaka using V a guinea pig, but obviously V is not dying anymore since a lot of time has passed. He "just" has nightmares and shit like that. So ok the ending is bad because Saburo is back from the dead, but V is not doomed anymore, right? Did I miss something ?
