I tested the new archfiends to maybe help in regenesis and it quickly turned out that the only way I could possibly see them being useful is if you only run 3 royal and 1 highness without the bricktual, very underwhelming because I envisioned more points of synergy that in practice never come up (like the ritual being a 2.5ker or a regenesis bridge into archfiend through dracossack -> cherubini -> rhino -> heiress)my last cope is that at the very least this minimal royal+highness package is nice: it's very compact, highness isn't really a garnet if you drew enough regenesis to play, and you get simul/ghastly glitch for free if you're not in the worst case scenario where you need to tutor a second regenesis archfiend so that one can reveal the other.I imagine that everything I said above also translates to RDA if applicable, in the sense that the ritual is a meme but royal+highness could maybe improve the deck, the only difference being that the extra deck lock is harsher for RDA

Speaking of CloudianNew cards when? It's been 6 years. It's a charming little archetype and it's an anime original used by a somewhat prominent character. That being said, it does pretty much nothing nowadays. I remember building it a few years ago and all it amounted to was bad Toadspam. I am willing to tolerate a lot of shitdeck shenanigans, but when a deck just becomes spam that doesn't even use its own gimmick and relies more on generics then it all just becomes pointless.The already present cards are miserable too, out of the 19 cards available only a handful are semi decent>Altus is a non-opt handrip and probably the reason why they aren't giving the deck any easier ways to spread counters>Turbulence can non opt SS your Smoke Balls from the deck or GY but it requires a counter on the field>Storm Dragon is an extender that needs a GY banish but it does place counters at no cost at least and its soft opt>Aerosol's 2nd effect specials anything from the deck but it also needs a GY banish and there's the issue of consistently getting the card in the grave>Rain Storm is a decent trap but it's unsearchable and it's not like you're ending with a 2000+ atk Cloudian on field nowadaysAll of the other cards are something you would never even consider running in 2025. Its decent support. I can't go as far as saying 'solid', but definitely goes ways to improving the deck. Right now, the only maindeck darklords worth a damn are Ixchel, Superbia and the single Morningstar as a name for fusing. The others are essentially bricks or heavily outclassed, so having two good, usable options is great. Being able to finally search droplet in-theme is a solid addition, because going second is harder for the deck. New fusion is okay, but really needed to be treated as Morningstar on the field. The '6 or higher' requirement is also a kick in the balls, because it means you're not making it with aluber, tragedy or even the new jehuty. Unnecessary condition. Gulgalta should be fetching from GY too, would help cut down card count and give more recursion.Pleasure is ass. Simple as. Banishing your darklords when there is zero banish recursion? Zero GY effect? Can't add itself back to hand? A worse Invocation that you can't even use more than once per turn? The fuck? We Witchcrafters now?Really feels like another "why did konami bother?" wave of support.
