Quick rundown for anyone interested in the basil & doze lore and wondering about the origins of the shitposter

1. Basil was a regular namefag and survivormain on /assg/ years ago who would post webms and occasionally mock bad players, he had a high ego but was always on topic with the thread

2. Some other namefag named doze (insomniac_doze) was a killerfag and got tired of basils constant posting and spazzed out calling basil a tranny and started spamming the threads, with basil avatarfagging as Gojo Satoru from JJK in retaliation

3. Doze gets so pissed off that he then takes the name basil for himself and goes to other boards and generals posing as basil and making pro lgbt posts while also shitposting constantly in any thread he was in.

4. Doze then changed his name to Transil (a mix of basil and trans) and continued to imitate basil. Doze would then convince other anons that transil and basil were the same, when in reality the real basil stopped posting on assg/dbdg and went back to his original general for a game I wont name in respect

5. Transil/Doze will occasionally post a “doxxed” image of basil (most likely not even basil and just a random person) and samefag a bunch of times calling him insults. If you see this, please ignore and report.

To this day its unknown how many people exactly are imitating basil as some theorys suggest that bran and sissyfag also have a grudge against basil, but its better to forget about it. Some people will try to convince you they are the same person, but if you look up basils history in the archive, the evidence clearly shows their different people

Can I get a QRD on maps? I thought most maps were randomly generated in a set of tiles? Like how Warframe randomly selects different tiles of a planet so each area is not like the last time when you do a mission.

in a way, chases are pressure, so it ties together strongly
check out some how-to-run-tile guides and importantly watch good players play
some fundamentals:
0. hug loops tightly, no wasted movement. take the inner track.
1. clear filler loops efficiently. these are hard to mind-game until the pallet goes down, so get it down asap. whether or not you can actually play the post-pallet is contextual.
2. respect the pallet, but don't worship it. avoiding stuns is good. fearing the stun so much that when the survivor greeds it you lose all the distance you gained is bad. be ready for the greed.
3. don't vault the shack window, mostly. half-commit to force them to vault from the inside, then double back around the outside for a 50/50 or pallet.
4. moonwalking. if you come around a corner, moonwalk when you do it. forces survivors to react to your body rather than the extra warning of the red stain.
5. zoning. when kicking a pallet, try to do it from the side that gives the survivor the least options after the break.
force them to stay in the weak area, don't give them the freedom to run to strong stuff. kick it such that they'd have to run past you (and get hit) to go there.
6. understand and abuse checkspots. survivors tend to stand in specific spots in tiles that offer the most vision and deny info, where they wait to see what direction you're committing without you seeing them. these are the fundamental set-ups for a mindgame, where you show them something, and then make them doubt it.
these spots are generally corners. you have to commit in order to force a reaction, which gives you the space to make a 50/50. the most basic option is doubling back, with the other option being a delayed commit - you still do what you looked like you were about to do, but with a delay and a moonwalk to throw 'em off.
this is one of the areas where watching good players play helps tremendously. seeing how they set-up and execute various mindgames is very, very useful

7. prevent the fast vault. fast vaults are safe and fast, medium vaults slow and vulnerable. ensuring that survivors do not get fast vaults for free, typically done by running a given tile in a specific direction, prevents them from endlessly looping the tile and opens them up to potential punishment.
this is, in part, where the "don't vault shack window" bit comes from. it effectively gives them a free fast vault every time
8. if they have a beamer, look down once you're out of animation lock. prevents chain blinds.
9. avoid strong set-ups. certain main buildings are absurdly strong (hi dead dawg!!). RNG can spawn some incredibly disgusting set-ups. for the latter you can chip down the strength by clearing connected pallets but oftentimes it's better to avoid these altogether. this is something that takes experience to recognize though.
10. have fun haha. also be calm. lower your sens*, be patient, don't get spun and don't eat dead hards. be in control. they can't actually stop you from playing the game, only from winning. there's no timeout like CS.
there's probably other fundamentals i'm forgetting, most of this is internalized from years of play so i don't know what i might be missing

That's how some very basic triggerbots worked in CS, you'd have to manually aim at the head but when it detects you aiming at a head it automatically shoots for you.

I've rarely played him, but decided to give him a go earlier today. To be fair it was on Lery's so I was constantly having LoS broken, but I found that whenever the opportunity for a good shot was there, it just takes too long to lift the axe, and the opportunity is gone. So it seems you have to predict when there's going to be a good shot and raise the axe in advance. It feels like you're playing with 200 ping in a way. Similarly, when you recall the axe, there's this annoying period of inaction. Say you hook someone, then head to a door to travel or a downed pallet to break it, and recall your axe as you go. Well you have to stand in front of the door or the pallet for a second unable to do anything, and it feels like shit. Much worse still in chase if you recall your axe as you're approaching a vault and then can't vault it. Of course with play and practice this will all become what you work around, but coming from other killers who don't have these isssues, it makes me just not want to play him.
