Archie would have become a romance drama series with or without Sally's continued presence in the comic. The only thing that would have improved is SALLY's reputation as a character being saved from the insane mischaracterization she suffered later. Sonic would still become controversial for being so involved with romance. The rest of the girls would still be all over him if not moreso. Amy would still be blocked from dating him due to her age which would remain a sore spot for Amy fans and a large reason why they don't like Archie.Furthermore, I'm pretty sure the reason she was brought back wasn't out of any particular love but because Penders didn't have the authority to permanently kill off a Sega owned character onscreen in a comic aimed at children.

Already looks like a smug jerk from design as well as being one of the only true shittalkers in this game instead of the safe smacktalk everyone else gets. Smug, shittalking rival. Easy and Simple.What does Cream have over them? She's cute. It's really simple, but exposes a larger issue wit Amy. Amy is not interesting or cute from a glance for a girl character. Cream on the other hand is ultra cute by default of being a bunny girl and her ears emulate long hair (something you see females always giving amy in fanart because they know it looks cuter). Knuckles is a weird niche creature on the other hand, his whole thing is guarding a rock and him being rival to Sonic got eclipsed by Shadow ages ago. Its also why the movie boost did nothing for him since Shadow usurps his role and beats him down in movie 3. Amy is a hedgehog that has none of the cool factor all the other hedgehogs have and as a girl character, has nothing (anymore) that makes her appealing to girls from a glance. She's the pink girl character, but she's nowhere near as cute as Cream.Amy and Knuckles are just too diluted to be popular with many these days.
