I have played FFIV more recently (PR) and it is a lot more "explosive" I guess you could say. Fights are generally more deadly but are also over quickly. Like, most bosses die in like 4 or 5 "rounds" of nukes, but they can also kill you pretty quickly as well.

FFXIV ruined FFV for me. I literally cannot imagine a party that doesn't have a warrior or a paladin, two black mage, and a white mage.I try to faff around with time mages and dancers, but I always return to these four.

I haven't written a post about XVI yet, but I will now.It really stinks. It's 7/10 ish overall for having the massive bombastic setpieces that are genuinely impressive. But it has the lowest lows of any FF game ever made and the combat is not up to snuff for its 50 hours of movies and side quests. Rebirth is a much, much better video game.

One of the dumbest design decisions in XVI.To put it briefly:FF mode does not significantly improve anything, in my experience.Ultimaniac is a mode worth checking out, but to fully unlock it you need to complete FF mode. Download some save, if you want to try it. Ultimaniac is a list of story missions where potions are not scattered around the map and the equipment is selected by the game itself, so you can't come overpowered.
