If you've never done a sprint/mile race and faced opponents who were so far ahead that there existed no time to catch up with them, then there isn't much else to say to you. This isn't like medium or longs where you'll have plenty of time to fuck around getting squirted on by NN and super creek halfway through the race as everyone tries to decide if they are blocked or not. They are just going to be gone, and if you're not with them when it happens its going to be over.

My gold ship doesn't have spurt and she has a 45% win rate. My Taishin only has 1 gold recovery and also has a 45% win rate. Their stats are crazy good though so it's not as impressive as it sounds, but from the way people talk even with those crazy stats I should have been losing all the time.
