For example, Reinhardt in season one got away with avoiding survival almost altogether. as flawed as hero rank is, it feels better than the current system that still considers losses as a result of a leaver a legit loss or these seemingly random modifiers that barely mean anything. its probably designed specifically to counter people who doom queue and go on losing streaks getting progressively more toxic when its due to stuff out of their hands, since they at least have the chance to see a number go up if they tried their hardest but still lost.
