I give up guys, the only other side scroller ive played is the original game, they clearly made this game for long time platformer fans. it takes me multiple attempts just to get past rooms, tried fixing the broken bench in sinners road, i simply cant do it.
>>
I'm starting to question why boss run backs are even a thing in the first place
Even the easy ones you can do in 2 minutes without taking any damage is still just 2 minutes of my time being wasted when I just want to fight the boss again
>>
>>539001205
at least HK removed them with dreamgate
>>
I wish the interactive maps had act/movement filters, I can't figure out if certain map accesses are for act 2 or 3, or if I need another movement option

I genuinely hate the shard system. It sucks the fun out of the blob bosses. There's so many bosses that are just big blobs with 1999999999999 health and adds that you're meant to chuck tools at till they die. Well guess what faggot you've only got about 6 fucking attempts at that until you gotta go back to the fields and farm Mr Farmer Bob. Take a break so you don't get tilted Mr Gamer!!!!!! There were tons of blob bosses in HK that basically existed to be target practice for your spells, but in HK they were just mid instead of being actively anti fun. Whoever at Team Cherry looked at Sekiro and said "dude man those spirit emblems were dope bro" should be banned from making games for life, if only because it's willful ignorance to import that system wholesale in 2025 given the overwhelmingly negative feedback they had 6 years to study but ignored.

Or just install a mod
>>

Your parents having you was also completely unnecessary, yet here you are anyway shitposting like a retard.
>>
>>539002039
Feels good being a pure fundies needle and silk player. Tools are exclusively for throwing at assholes who won't fly into needle range.
Shard drops could be more generous.

Is Act III worth doing? I already beat Silkmom and am kinda not into doing all of these random side quests. From the looks of it, the only areas I haven't explored are apparently trash like Bilewater.
>>
>>539002571
Unthreaded. There is no secret technique: equip architect crest. Annihilate phase 1 with caltrops. Work through phases 2 and 3 with the sawblade and the digger. Finish him off with your needle because he'll still fucking be alive even with a max upgraded toolbag. Hopefully you win because this costs like 180 shards per attempt.

They're both punishment for not killing the boss and a good ways of collecting shards and building up silk for the fight.

>>539001116
I kind of liked it. I did not like the original at all and ended up dropping it pretty early on. With the bosses, it's really just a matter of learning their movement and experimenting with strategies until you find one that works. Lace 2 is a good example of this.

Hollow Knight runbacks were so much fucking worse. Mantis Lords, Nosk, Soul Master, Hive Knight, Traitor Lord....most of those you wouldnt have dream gate for. Feels like revionist history. Only Groal has a bad runback in Silksong.
>>
>>539002875
180 shards is nothing. Just buy shard packs, you can afford like 1 a minute in act 2.

That's a full third of your ammo pack before you have to go back and farm again. This cringe shit was not a problem in the first game nor in any metroidvania that released in the interim, for good reason. It was a failed experiment on Fromsoft's part when they debuted it in Sekiro and arrogance on Team Cherry's part here. They simply thought they were too cool for feedback.

Everything would just get immediately fixed if the game would refund the shard you've wasted on death.
>>
>>539002875
Did you mean unraveled? Alright. Let me clue you in on something, you shouldn't be using tools to blitz early stages of boss fights. Under NO circumstances should you ever be doing this. It's going to lead to you running out of shards like an idiot. Fight the boss without tools until you can consistently get it down to the later phases AND THEN, if you TRULY must, spam the tools to finish it. This is much more reliable AND much more efficient. If you are taking damage and dying in early phases, just suck it up and try again - if you don't spam your tools out like a retard, your shards won't mysteriously disappear. Good lord you are idiotic.
>>
>>539005840

>>
>>539006018
I do use tools, I just don't open with them because I realize that I'll be running a deficit using up my shards while I'm learning the boss. I've closed out most boss fights with poison throwing pins, including the unraveled. Get it down to second or third phase with your ammo saved and then you can unload on it. Just be more restrained in your use of tools and you won't have shard problems. If that means that you have to face challenges that you feel you aren't prepared for, isn't that at least a more interesting conundrum than spending the same amount of time farming for shards? Is my alternative really that unpalatable to you?

>>
>>539007269
No, because the reason why I use the caltrops to skip essentially the entirety of phase 1 is because I don't like the fight and don't want to spend every a second longer on it than necessary, and I strongly resent the game insisting I slog it out the long way with these fake fucking ammo constraints. I haven't fought the Bilewater frog yet but I already know from other anons that it's going to be the exact same situation. "For my own good," of course, can't make the game too fun or else it'd be too easy!! Faggot ass dev mentality. Anytime devs start thinking they're too good for their game to be fun, they need to apply corrective rape to their own assholes until those thoughts go away.
>>
>>539007561
That's a retarded way of designing hitboxes
>>

>>
>>539007807
If you transform hitboxes for backflips and other fluff you will run into the problem of enemies constantly getting stuck in shit and you'll have to redo them if you change animations.
>>
>Get clawhook
>Realize that Hornet is just shoving her needle into the grapple holes
>Realize there's nothing technically stopping her from grabbing any of the rings if you jump into them without using the clawhook, which is oftentimes possible
>The game just won't let you because she just can't, ok?
Artificial difficulty
>>
>>539007774
Seems like a self-defeating mindset. The boss is harder to hit with needle swings in its later phases because of the area denial, so wouldn't you want to save your tools anyway? If you just slowed down, you might end up taking less time overall on these fights.
>>
>>539008404
>Get sprint

>>
>>539008569
If Team Cherry didn't design the gameplay to be as cucked and obnoxious as possible, we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place.
>>
>>539008404
Wait until you realize that it's just a video game and none of it is real.
>>
>>539008851
At least the sprint description says she's somehow running at a supernatural speed when you get it. I know I've had a bunch of situations where I fuck up a platforming and miss the clawhook but horner still physically touches the grapple point, she just can't interact with it because she's fucking stupid.
>>
>>539008891
I really find it hard to justify the usage of hunter if you can have others or for fun.
The damage and pogo are worse than wanderer. Shaman and Architect are WAY easier to use and are also safer. Shaman, as well as Reaper, also has it completely beat in terms of range.
Like if you actually rank them up Hunter is about 4th best and that's pushing it.

I feel like that article I read a few days ago about Silksong getting easier in the later Acts had no fucking idea what they were talking about and didn't play Act 3

also if you are using your entire ammo pool of all your red tools on a boss and still not beating it you should, i don't know, fucking practice it a few times and whittle it down first or save tools for shit like adds or phases they're otherwise hard to land hits on exclusively like a normal player?

I could go for a Lace campaign, idk what she'd be up to, but she seems easy to build a fun moveset out of. Maybe they could embrace the fencer aspect and force you into engaging with parryslop mechanics, lol
>>
I give up. Groal is so fucking hard I just don't think I can do it. I've tried him for 100+ attempts and it just isn't happening. By far and away the hardest boss in a Soulslike I played. I don't get how people complained about PCR when this piece of shit exists. Impossible.

I feel like they should've split flurry attack into two parts so if you get hit at the end of a flurry attack you only get hit for one mask. I think it both makes sense and would've lessened the complaints about double damage.

Doesn't work. His minions can hit me and he can jump out of the water. Also that way I can't damage him so what's the point. No I don't use tools, I don't have shards.
>>
>>539014479
His worst move is the soul vomit which you can learn, otherwise he's not really hard. PCR is just dogshit unenjoyable rollslop and they had to nerf him because he had a frametrap unless you were sticking to his right and even then he could reposition then do it which could screw you over and he would blind you (and still does) every 5 seconds. If I knew how to make Elden Ring mods I would overhaul him just to make him not dogshit to fight.
>>
>some of the late game hazards and enemies deal 4-5 masks of damage

>>
>>539015439
The water jump is literally the only thing that can hit you and the minions leave.
>>
>>539015439
In the water, under the platform. Smash your face into the wall. No, his minions can't hit you - I sat there for about 15 minutes. Yes, he can pop out of the water under you randomly, you can see the bubbles and splashing, just swim out of the way. Lodge yourself into the corner, wait for his suck attack, do a tiny jump out of the water, hit him after his suck finishes, back to the corner. It takes forever, but he will not hit you.

Some random stuff that's a bit hard to figure out:

>Little Pilgrim in bone bottom
There's a way to save them. First off talk to them enough to trigger talks and make them introduce themselves. Do not do the Tyrant quest until you enter act 2, or if you do, do not go to the left side of the bench at bone bottom or else you'll trigger the other's assault for revenge. Once on act 2, after you get double jump, they'll be at pilgrim's rest after you open the door to the right (do not let the stag beetle get out, kill it first), after that I'm unsure, but I read they move on act 3 and can be found somewhere at bile, past that they should move to Songclave at some point I believe

>Shakra
You can duel her by finishing up most of the map and getting her final quest. Once that's done, she can help you at the fight in the forum, and will place one of her tools east of bellhart at Greymoor. Hit it to duel her.

>Garmond
During act 2, before you get all of the songs, you can find Garmond fighting at different spots in the capital, after witnessing 3, he will perch himself on an area east of songclave, which you need to get through a vault's passage. If you meet him there, he'll ask for a duel, win it and he'll now offer to help you out during the forum fight.

Beating it unlocks being able to challenge the Pantheon of Hallownest (New Lord of Shades fight replaces Absolute Radiance) as Hornet and the ability to challenge the Pantheon of Pharloom as Ghost.

That's my sentiment too. I recognize that Wanderer is probably better if you get really good and can lay in the DPS, but...whatever, I like Reaper more. Reach good, hit and run. Plus Wanderer's just really boring to use and it's charm slots fucking suck.
I hate Beast and don't use it, but from what I've seen, anons put on the no knockback charm and just go ham on enemies, healing through their damage. I'm skeptical, but apparently they make it work, so more power to them.

Also yes, gauntlet enemies really should drop shards. There's no reason at all for them not to.

You can go back to act one areas to farm. If you get the thief insignia from Grindle, the three pilgrims to the right of halfway home drop 47 rosaries and some shards. Most bugs LOOK they have masks, but for a good number of them that's just how their face looks. Some bugs lack proper sapience and a sense of self, so they don masks in order to give themselves a sense of self.
I don't think we actually have any reason to think that Hornet is wearing a mask, and I'm pretty sure that's just how her face looks.

Because I can. But seriously environmental damage being nerfed is not important, once you lean the areas you never get hit by those. The only place where it matters is bilewater.
>>
>>539034353
The best run had you not fight any enemies and just dodge around them
The problem was if you messed up a jump then you were dropped right down back into them, and they'd take chunks out of you

>>
>>539034595
>>539034679
>But seriously environmental damage being nerfed is not important, once you lean the areas you never get hit by those.
That's not really the point imo. I believe that by making environmental damage more meaningful it more heavily encourages you to treat it with respect and properly learn your way around it, rather than face tanking the occasional mistake. It puts you in a place where you'd rather risk taking one damage from an enemy if it meant you'd avoid dropping into the worms, similar to Bilewater.
I'm just saying that they shouldn't have changed the default damage, and should have just added a "Reduce Environmental Damage" option in the settings for people that did want it changed.
>>
>>539035002
I see. Where do I get it from, and will this mean I can float any more if I get it?
>>
>>539035227
You can still float.
You will get it once you reach the highest area in the game. You will need clawline first.

Bilewater is one of the hardest area if not the hardest though.
>>
>>539034417
I don't really think that makes sense either considering we get to see this >>539017387 as well as the fact that Ghost, the Hollow Knight, and the other Vessels all have incredibly similar faces to Hornet, and there's no way they all were given fake masks right after they were born.
I find it more likely that he was implying that the Weavers all wore masks, and that Hornet is aware of it.

>>
>>539035942
>I would prefer to get hit for double damage

You jump, then double jump, then float. Part of me thought there wouldn't be a double jump at all since it would have felt weird to have a hover and a double jump, but they managed to make it work.
>>
>>539035990
You only experienced the "easy" part.
After last patch, you can only float after double jump. There was a tech before the patch where by doing down + jump will make you float instead of double but that has been removed.

the option is objectively bad, and the environment already has a massive punishment, which is the blackout fade
regarding the option, it means you can't decide on what your game should be, is clunky, and is way too specific for both a normal user to care and a challenge-seeking user to bother with
and although it's hard to do with just text, there's a difference between being passive aggressive and writing a joke

If you preclear it doesn't really make a difference, but I prefer going up the elevator shaft and through Widow's boss room and runback at the start, because the only enemies you can't simply outrun the spawning animation for on that part of the route are a face flower you kill from behind and that one floaty boy right before the Shellwood stag station. And in Choral Chambers I usually go left through the tube station and through the spa because it also has fewer enemies (and I can run by Green Prince since I haven't progressed his quest past there).

Most of my mistakes have come from running into walls rather than enemies or hazards, with the one exception being the pin-weilding pilgrim in Wasted Steps. But I do have double jump.

Reaper. I’d be using architect more, but the down attack is horrible, especially for platforming. Same for Witch, but the burst-heal feels just incompatible with some encounters.

I beat half of the game with a reaper it's amazing in rooms with waves of enemies (huge silk gain), hard jumping sections (cause pogo is very wide, it's hard to miss a target), some long boss fight, it allows more silk magic usage and more reliable pogo.
When I am stuck, I grab hunter, and play very carefully so I focus on dodging to learn a pattern and gather bonus damage.
Then I can grab wanderer/beast and just yolo
And if everything failed I grab architect and just shit out poison tools. On top of that, Architect has the best charged attack in a game. As you don't need so much silk (charged don't give silk) it's perfect, but imho too op.

>>
>>539040085
They're different. I like them both as 10/10. Silksong is WAY more nonlinear, and for how big the map is with the citadel lacking stag stations, it just feels like a drag and difficult to backtrack to collect all the masks. The nonlinearity makes it feel like it's too easy to miss things.

I'd like to know the logic behind Silk Skills not being usable while sprinting, nor can they be buffered.
If you attack and press Dash before the attack finishes, the dash still comes out once the attack ends. You can't do that with Skills, and my muscle memory is making me think you could do that with spells in HK.

Even with the longer windup, I'll press the button in the heat of battle and Hornet just stands there. I favor the Sharpdart for being an invulnerable dash, wanted to possibly use it as a slower shade cloak. I have to make the conscious choice to use Skills because of this, since my playstyle is fairly hit-and-run with a lot of sprinting, dashing, and jumping.

WHY DO I NEVER SEE ANYONE TALK ABOUT KARMELITA?
Easily the hardest boss once her phase 2 starts. By phase 3 she becomes simultaneously the most aggressive and defensive boss in the whole game with only The First Sinner being more evasive.

Only thing saving Putrified Ducts from being a worse area than Bilewater is it being a relatively small area that you only have to visit like twice. Those burst spit flies are the most annoying enemies in the game by far.
>>
>>539052069
The key to almost every fight in this game is to just not move as much. Lace 2 is a great example. Stand there like a tank, let her dance around you, only move the barest amount to be out of range of her shit, and slap her ass in retaliation. Easiest shit ever. Sentinel 2 is like that, Phantom is like that, a lot of bosses are like that.
>>
>>539054039
I feel like stuff like memoria isn't explained but the reason why you are transported there is. As well as who's controlling everyone with silk.
>>
I've finished the game with 100%. It's a solid 8.7 with annoying shit like the runbacks. I wasn't even annoyed by how you are forced to grind rosaries, what got me pissed is that you barely get enough shards for tools since more than half of the resources you find will fall offscreen or into spikes. The true ending boss is kino, but I feel that Radiance and the events leading to her in HK were much better and had a better payoff. The ending is definitely the rushed part of Silksong.
My favorite bosses were trobbio and karmelita, but this last one got me pissed with the contact damage bullshit.
>>
How do I fight these stupid fucking ninja frogs in Bilewater who play keepaway while chucking explosive spears at the exact angle needed to cuck my approach?

>>539054218
I'm not one to dismiss people's criticism or complaints with "git gud" because I got sick of hearing it myself whenever I tried to say anything non-positive about Elden Ring, but I can make an exception for you if you really think there's anything difficult about Last Judge's runback (the one I was specifically referring to).
>>
>>539054218
This post makes me feel like you're one of those people that's trying to force themselves to do something they just don't really enjoy. I enjoy challenging platformers and toying with game mechanics, so I enjoyed optimizing runbacks and the flea games, but if that kind of stuff isn't something you like I have trouble understanding why you're even doing this to begin with.
A game shouldn't ever feel like a chore, and if it does then it might just not be for you.
>>
>>539050792
It's fun but if you've already learned how to fight like that (and it seems to be the intended way to use Hunter crest) it feels kind of easy for a character who is essentially spider Lucifer.
>>
>>539054307
>I wasn't even annoyed by how you are forced to grind rosaries
I still don't understand how this was a problem for anyone. I lost very few rosaries to dying twice without recovering them and I almost never had a problem buying anything when I needed it. The only bench and bellbug stop I couldn't afford when I found them was in Putrefied Ducts, and it was one of the last two I ever needed.
I didn't even explicitly grind them, just normal play exploring around kept me wealthy enough.
>>
>>539054867
NTA but I can kind of get it. This game has a habit of throwing absolute cringe garbage at you in very mandatory spots. Tomorrow I'm probably going to spend multiple hour slogging through the shithole that is Bilewater's boss because I want the true ending, even though from my experiences earlier tonight I can say it is completely worthless content and should be redesigned from the ground up. That's been my feeling for a lot of the game, wild oscillations between a 9/10 and a 4/10 score due to it throwing mega unfun bullshit randomly in spots you need to go. Right now my overall feeling about the game is an average of the two, about a 7/10. Fun game when it gets its head out of it's own ass and lets itself be fun.
>>
>>539055282
>Fun game when it gets its head out of it's own ass and lets itself be fun.
I feel like this is going to end up being the general consensus in a month or two once the dust has settled and the majority of people have had a chance to reach Act 3.
>>
>>539054652
Last Judge is a bad runback. It's not difficult, per se, but it's long enough and involved enough to be a pain in the ass to do every time you fight Last Judge.
>git gud!
Gitting gud means being able to recognize when something is difficult, harder than it should be, poorly designed, or whatever, even though you yourself didn't have a hard time with it.

>>539054867
To be fair...to myself, I guess, I've been really enjoying the game until act 3. With reservations, mind you, but it's still been a great time. And now...I don't know, man, it feels like those reservations have boiled over. I haven't even done much in act 3 yet, just The Abyss, Lost Verdania, and some traversal around the not-actually-that-different world, but them's the breaks.
I feel this game cares too much about being hard. When it works, it works, and it usually does, but when it doesn't, holy fuck does it not.

Its either this or Expedition 33. I know 4chan is seething about how unfair the game is but most people are still genuinely positive about the game. It is very funny to me how /v/ scorns game journalists for being bad at the game yet they gave it top marks while gamers here are shitting blood.
>>
>>539055282
My sentiments exactly.

>>539056307
The void enemies just feel really lazy. Like, oh boy, they have a bunch more health and hit for 2 damage, because not enough stuff did already, and they have one or two of the same four abyss moves that might kinda sorta compliment their normal moveset, but probably not. Like, it's a cool idea, the Void taking over everything and lashing out from it, but in practice? Meh. Wish I liked it.
I haven't explored much, but are there ANY actually new enemies besides the masses of bodies?

No, they do, but you have to rest at a bench first. So don't. Walk through the route killing everything that's a problem in advance, then walk back and do it for real. No resting.

The part you go through bilewater to get to the organ is incredibly easy. Very different from the way you deal with the rest of that awful area.

Honestly hard to tell. But I enjoyed my first Silksong playthrough more than I did my first HK playthrough. HK was always a good game, but people forgot just how much the DLCs improved the game, and I imagine it will be the same for the Silksong DLCs.
>>
I don't like how Lace 2's attacks override yours so what is normally a parry instead deals damage. It only seems to happen some of the time. But it breaks what I think is the intended flow of combat and it results in you feeling very stilted and passive.

I wager donkey kong just because I don't know nintendo didn't win in a while or something and the advertisements show is too corporate to give the prize to some turbo indie like silksong, not even indie as in not funded by the major publishers like it seems to be the definition nowadays, REALLY indie
>>
>>539057948
I'm really worried about Silksong's DLCs. HK's were mostly about making the game harder, faster. Grimm puts every vanilla boss to shame, then Nightmare Grimm is even worse, then Godhome makes the rest of the game look like the tutorial.
Okay, but Silksong is already really hard. It's got normal bosses way harder than most Godhome fights. How much worse can it get?
>>
>>539058365
>How much worse can it get?

>>539058365
Most of Hollow Knight's launch bosses kinda sucked so it might just be a quality thing rather than a straight difficulty thing.

isnt widow a weaver that got her orb mask ripped off?
>>
>>539059235
Architect for combat, Hunter for traversal. The drill charge attack is sooo good.

I feel like Shaman would be really fucking fun but you get it so late in the game.
>>
>>539058951
Presumably after Silk broke free she took her revenge on them for betraying her and never forgave them
>>
>>539058491
A lot of silksong bosses still feel like hollow knight bosses. For example, Broodmother is basically just Ascended Gruzmother with 2 extra attacks and the minions explode.
>>
>>539059274
Yes but the Weaver firstborn were all created by Silk and she considers them her children. So even if Widow isn't a firstborn she is one of Silk's creations. But before her boss fight she does call her "Mother"

>>539059349
Ah that makes sense.
>>
>>539058951
I'm pretty sure Phantom was a failed prototype, and I don't exactly know what was wrong with Widow.

>>

I don't think they made it back. If they did then there would have been no reason for Silk to fetch Hornet, or any of the other Weaver descendants alluded to in the Cradle.
>>
>>539059235
i was a Wanderer cuck for most of the game, but i really enjoy Shaman, Reaper and Hunter

>>
>>539059694
Yeah I think you're absolutely right about their capture leading Silk to Hornet. I kinda wish the game went a bit more into that because it would be especially tragic, but its a safe assumption. I sort of expected a record of them to be in that Cradle room with the other Weaver colony status updates. Who knows what the DLC may add though? They could always flesh out the world more.
>>
>>539059918
>If they did then there would have been no reason for Silk to fetch Hornet,
She's an especially rare Weaver and Widow specifically mentions her being born of "Weaver and Wyrm". Silk might have wanted her in particular because of her semi divine status. Especially since her long life serves as a perfect contrast to Lace's flawed existence requiring silk to sustain.
>>
>>539059694
Perhaps that's the origin of Widow. Any Weavers that dared to return after "betraying" Silk were broken, bound, and shackled so they'd never be able to leave again.
>>
>>539059694
Personally, I don't think they ever went back home except for a few of them.
>>
How long are bug lifespans anyway?
You have some like Ogrim and the Nailmasters who seem to be fine despite a long ass time passing from the fall of Hallownest. Though they could have gotten blessings from the Pale King or something.
Hornet mentions having multiple mates, who she outlived by age.
Some of the bugs in City of Tears have been there for a long time, but you could probably chock that up to the Radiance extending their lifespan with the infection.
The Knight returning is also said to have "awoken" Hallownest, so maybe there was a form of stasis set over it.
>>
>>539061037
I assume there are supernatural ways to extend their lifespans, either through soul or void or silk or pale being fuckery. But the average bug doesn't seem to have a crazy long life, or they wouldn't make a big deal about silk extending their lives.
>>
>>539061037
I think all we know for sure is that Hornet has an incredibly long life or even near immortality due to being a direct descendant of the Pale King. Regular bug lifespans might even vary wildly between different kinds of bug, so there might not even be a good way to get an average.

>>539061584
I also wonder how much time passed from the Hollow Knight being sealed by the Dreamers, and the Infection reappearing. How many years did they get before the Radiance was able to take advantage of HK's impurity as a vessel.
>>
>>539062323
I wonder who Hornet was mating with during that time, since she never left Hallownest and most bugs were zombified.
>>
>>539062413
Mantises, Weavers that stayed in Deepnest
>>
>>539061037
Arthropod lifespans vary wildly. Within the many arthropod clades, you will find animals with lifespans measured in days all the way to creatures that could theoretically live forever under the right conditions. It's hard to say how this might translate to the world of Hollow Knight, but suffice it to say that bug lifespan likely has a high degree of variance.
>>

I know it might sound like cope, but I severely doubt Hornet had a very intimate past given how stoic and withdrawn she tends to be, as well as due to her not so great childhood and family problems. The game's difficulty needs to be revisited across the board, some bosses are insanely difficult while others are basically a joke. No game has innately destroyed my confidence in my gaming skills as this game did. Maybe I'm just too old to be good anymore.

I hear complains on a number of bosses, but I just now reached Trobbio, and I've not heard people talking about him. Is he not insanely hard? He's the first boss to make me want to use the RB button. He moves quickly, does 2 damage, and worse of all is movements feel so irregular and hard to track. I haven't even reached his phase 2 and I gave up on fighting him to go fight Savage Beast instead.
How do you fight/beat this guy?
>>
>>539074330
He's one of the tougher ones for sure, but I don't think he even makes the top 5 for most difficult. I don't remember any particular strat, but at least for his tornado move it's best to just pogo on his head until they pass.

He's not insanely hard, but definitely hard. One of many enemies that really doesn't have any business dealing 2 damage. If I had any good advice I'd give it, but I don't. Just gotta learn his attacks and keep on eye on everything. Don't worry about phase 2; it introduces one new attack, but it's the easiest one to avoid by far and he can't chain it together with anything like the other three.
>>
watcher at the edge took me an embarassingly large amount of attempts to beat

The wikis are incomplete. For example, you can find maps showing every Void Mass location but no wiki has info on if you get anything for killing all 45.
Also, it's more fun to talk to other people about queries rather than the use the automated response form.

Thread Storm is literal shit though. It's 3.75 of your nail damage in total, assuming you hit enemy with every single tick of damage. It forces you to hover in place and has a huge commitment, inviting any 2 damage hurtbox to just collide with you.

Weaverlight and Volt Filament is what I've been using with Shaman crest. But the problem is the spells themselves. I've tried various combination but eventually I've landed on Pale Nails and nothing else. I had some nice moments with Rune Rage against groups, but other than that Pale Nails is just so convenient and safe to use that it's hard to justify using silk on anything else.

What's the most efficient way to do the broodmom's skewer/burn/smash quest? This is a shitload of farming, both for the mobs and for the shards you need to keep killing mobs with tools with.

Hornet sometimes have "thorns" effect: on damage there's a chance that white things (silk? claws?) will damage the enemy in return. I don't remember ever receiving this upgrade/effect? What causes this?

just find a place with a couple of low hp enemies that respawn when you re-enter the room, if you have a bunch of tool pouch upgrades you'll be able to do it with just 1-2 trips to the bench

halfway home bench, go kill the 3 enemies on the right with tools, repeat
for seared use the flintslate, shredded the sawblade, and skewered sting shard

Do you guys actually parry attacks?, isn't it kinda useless seeing how most enemies land multiple attacks at the same time
>>
>>539102780
you can parry the whole combo as long as they aren't infinite and moving towards you, like those weird running guys in the cogworks
I'd actually kinda like more parry focused games, like 9 sols, but I guess those are fundamentally different themes and a game with both will struggle to keep bosses fair for both styles of gameplay

I skipped Moorwing but I did talk to Garmond and Zaza in Greymoor. I found them in Choral Chambers fighting things but haven't seen them since. I check the wiki entry and apparently they were supposed to appear near Whispering Vaults and The Forum but I didn't see shit. Why is their storyline so bugged?
>>
>>539103758
You have to encounter them multiple times in Choral Chambers I think (3?)
>>
>>539103758
you also meet them in sinner's road, the interactive map in the OP calls that the second encounter, so maybe you need to go there before you can find them n the citadel
>>
>>539102780
Parrying is difficult to do on the fly against a boss, but it's easy when you only have to focus on the parry, e.g against the bola throwers in Sinner's Road. Against bosses, it's only easy to do when you've established how to counter their moves. My usual way of avoiding some of NKG and Pure Vessel's moves involved a parry. The parry spell is free iframes once mastered but right now it's hard to do that because rematching bosses isn't possible.
>>
>>539103758
you find them more times in choral chambers then they move to songclave
i think skipping moorwing cuts you off from the rest of their questline though
>>
>>539102780
It's easier to just get out instead of risking getting hit by multi-attack or contact damage.
>>
>>539103913
This feels so shit. Almost like you're being punished for being "too good", not dying, and not having to backtrack through an area. The initial rosary prices on release made me feel the same way, like they expected the player to be stacking rosaries through grinding fodder mobs on runbacks.
>>
>>539104083

>>
>>539104083

>>
>>539104083
>>539104296
I don't think so, I found them even after I skipped Moorwing, and even then if you're on act 2 Moorwing reappears right outside of Greymoor's Bell Station
>>
Why does everything in this game deal double damage
>>
>>539103990
Continuing this, parrying is really only possible when there's a consistent tell. The mantises in HK always slash once at the exact same time after they raise their arms so it's easy to parry, but for the armored agile ant in SS, parrying is much harder because he slashes thrice and his dash and jump dash distance from you can vary a lot.
>>
