AND NO, they are not even good at fighting in the woods, they are slow, they don't shoot while moving, magic damage I guess is "okay" against fucking savage Orcs on the other side of the map to overcome their low armor but physical resistance, their hybrid stats don't allow them to excel at anything, neither good at shooting nor fighting melee, just "okay" at both while having the price of a tier 5 unit, a total fucking piece of crap, probably designed for MP, of course, like every fucking trash unit in this game.

This has happened 3-4 times already where I will go to war with someone, and it says my vassals join me, but they end up joining the opposing side instead.I tried using the better vassals mod but that just stops my vassals from leaving me when they refuse joining a war, has no effect on this issue.This has happened with multiple different enemies, different vassals, declaring war vs being declared war on, no common variables or indication that it happens if you don't check diplomacy yourself.I'm about to drop this campaign, I can't keep sinking resources into peace treaties with vassals that I shouldn't be at war with in the first place.

>>539161249I explained this a few threads ago but the basic idea is that doesn't actually force you to get good at fighting battles so all "challenge" ends up being on the campaign map which is extremely one dimensional and simplistic. most strategy games are actually designed to be easy so people can beat them and feel like they outsmarted the game, but in other rts games like age of empires or warcraft 3 you at least have to sort of learn how to play in order to beat the campaign, especially on higher difficulties. on the other hand modern tw has so many cheat mechanics and ai exploits that you can fairly easily win battles while having no idea what half of your faction's units do or even while completely misunderstanding the fundamental game mechanics. case in point how many people are there that regularly beat campaigns on legendary who think cavalry is useless? even if you play with single digit apm and are totally clueless you can just stack up your cheat mechanics and steamroll every fight with your 80md zombies or 90 armor peasants or whatever unit you decided to crutch on. eventually you get to a point where you can use autoresolve, the biggest cheat of all, to completely skip what should be the main part of the game.as a consequence all difficulty in a campaign relating to battles only exists for the initial turns before you can get your cheats stacked up enough. beyond that since the campaign layer is so simplistic the only thing the game can do to make things "challenging" is throw more fights at you, but since fights are easily winnable using your doomstack the challenge isn't real. the only thing the game can do to actually threaten you is to throw more armies at you than you are able to fight, but there are diplomacy cheats and economic cheats to get around that too. eventually you get to a point where all of the entertainment value the game was supposed to offer has been bypassed and you are just playing retard coloring book with the map.
