Kind of crazy how rushed Season 4’s development was. They literally started with no plan, just concept art of unfinished characters. Dizzy came with a rushed and buggy launch, Unika was being worked on alongside the anime with a long list of discrepancies, Venom got delayed for 5(?) months bug fixing, and Lucy got leaked along with the entire game’s source code. And all of this happened in just a year.

Launch was obviously rushed with Goldlewis clearly being intended to be a part of the launch roster, Baiken's trailer having Happy Chaos' name on it, DLC characters in general being extremely pared down, and to finish it off, Testament launched with several obvious bugs. Season 2 was a similar experience with Sin being really bad during his launch with moves that were pointless, Bedman being delayed and still launched with several bugs and Asuka was glitchy as well. Season 3 was an obvious shitshow with Wild Assault. That 3v3 mode was in there at some point as well, as was the extremely borked cross-play with Xbox that took like 6 months for them to fix. It's pretty clear that Strive being their own property it's always the lowest priority for ArcSys.

It's a bad situation at roundstart, and Nago can definitely just get started and carry away the whole round because of it, but I think it's just a matchup where you have to be willing to be more passive than you normally would be and let him crank up his blood gauge. There may be plenty of resources in this game that feel so easy to manage they may as well not even be there, but if you have Nago at full screen at Blood level 3, you'll feel it in the way he tries to approach you, because there's a lot less he can do to get in at that stage even with him being good at destroying cubes, and at that point it's easy for Asuka to set up and snowball. I think it's a pretty manageable matchup by Asuka's standards if you just be patient until Nago gets to level 3, he's always going to be good at destroying cubes, but he won't be able to do much with it if it gets to that stage. If you extend that same patience to roundstart you're not going to be losing to WWA there either.
