Yeah It would be the symptom of a bigger illness that has already spread through and damaged Europe, by constantly buy american equipment we slowly lost our manufacturing capabilities. Smaller countries of course have to buy, but the UK should be able to at the very least develop and built a trainer.
The biggest issue is your politicians stalled too much, you should've started development 10 years ago. Second issue is the trainer market is become saturated. M-346, T-7, L-159, T-50, Hurjet, TX etc.
Back in the day the UK alone would've bought enough trainers from an UK company like BAE to justify the development cost, so foreign sales were a bonus. Now the UK,from what I heard, no matter what trainer they choose they might be looking at 30 airframes max. Without guaranteed sales on the foreign markets you're looking at a big risk. Hence why Aeralis offered to partner up with Dassault to jointly develop it, as dangeroud a partnership with Dassault is.

At least on more serious matter the GCAP is surprisingly going smootly. The JV was formed, the consortium for the engines and electronics as well (engines; RR, IHI, AA / avionics: Leonardo UK, Elettronica, Mitsubishi) and the UK is already building the pre-demonstrator for a scheduled first flight in 2027.
Returning to the M-346 the best of both worlds would be to buy/loan some M-346FA armed with APKWS II for antidrone operations and let Aeralis have more time to develop their products, even if it ends up not making money so that the UK can retain critical design capabilities.
>>
>>539241401
I wonder why BAE haven't put anything forward, maybe it's not lucrative enough. The manufacturer won't be selected until next year, but it does appear that Aeralis have a reasonable chance of winning. They'd be built in Scotland apparently.

Any recommendations for a HOTAS? I've been using pic related for like ten years and now that I've gotten into DCS, I realize I'd like to have a way to the targeting pod around, and deploy countermeasures etc in a more easier way.
>>
>>539274903
budget?
I'm using VKB gladiator and STECs for my setup since it's the cheapest premium quality hotas setup I can find.
If you want a HOTAS modeled after specific jets, then winwing has the viper ace for the f-16, and the navy ace for the f-18
>>
>>539274903
On a similar note, I have the HOTAS X but likewise I'm looking for something with more switches and a second hat maybe. The thing is I unironically like the "seesaw" rudders on the back of the throttle and from what I've seen so far there are basically no setups that have them that aren't entry level like the X. Is there anything that fills that niche?

My budget I would say is up to $500 or so. I'm more interested in just the joystick since I use a saitek 3-axis throttle quadrant (power, prop pitch, mixture) for my throttle. Though looking at the Navy Ace, all those controls do look enticing...

See-saw rudder is a must for me since I don't have rudder pedals and actually prefer the seesaw.
>>
>>539286241
>I'm more interested in just the joystick since I use a saitek 3-axis throttle quadrant (power, prop pitch, mixture) for my throttle.
That's really not going to work with any jet fighter in DCS. (I have one and love it).
Having a real fuel lever is great for the MiG-15 though. And of course for props.
>>
>>539287036
Yeah you're probably right. Apparently the gladiator can twist so I'm satisfied. I'll go with it and the mini stecs. I can always keep my saitek for my prop needs.
Thanks gents.
>>
>>539289003
I'm curious how you got dead set on getting a rocker switch rudder, when you throttle (and my throttle) and your stick don't have that. Are you also using the TWCS? That's the only one I know of that has that.

I don't have an issue with the RAF using M-346 as trainers, it's mostly the idea of the Red Arrows using them. Maybe we could use the 346s for training and the Red Arrows can just use the Hawk until the 2040s or whenever the supposed 'it's too fackin old mate' date is.

Yes and no in my opinion. In the past with 3rd and 4th gen planes you could get away with it since fully developing a frontline fighter jet was still feasible by yourself even if you weren't the USA or Russia so your industry could still retain the necessary knowledge and expertise.
Nowadays we're already at the point where we're developing 6th gen fighters which outside of the US and China I don't think anyone can develop and build by themselves simply due to the monetary requirements. Within GCAP as much as we're going to share there are parts of the development that are going to be led mostly by a single country so your industry won't get the same "exercise" as it would've if you had developed it alone. Trainers could be the one thing where you can still fully develop them alone, letting your engineers pay for their bills and stretch their legs.
If your country is too small/poor you have no choice either way so it's a non issue, but bigger countries should take the risk and make their own stuff.
The issue with the UK is literally that they just started too late due to the 2006 decision to not enter the AEJPT but put all their eggs in the T2/128 basket to save some jobs.
But not everything is lost, while the Aeralis proposal is facing an uphill battle due to their modular design idea, it could also be their ace in the hole if they prove they can actually develop it. If they make a fully drone/autonomous variant it could serve as the platform for the loyal adjunct (in the low version) in the GCAP program. They could stretch out their decision by continuing to send their pilots here in Sardinia on the M-346 and allow Aeralis to fully flesh out their stuff.

>it's mostly the idea of the Red Arrows using them
That reason alone is why I think the Aeralis idea is the most likely one to be chosen, in the UK from what I saw the Reds are seen as a national symbol, here in Italy it's kinda the same but we have a shitload of smelly ""anti-war"" lunatics that want their disbandment since they "promote war" "cost too much" etc.

This was a single mission.
Bring some dudes to Narvik.
The complication was that the narrow passage was patroled by a dipping sonar helo who of course managed to detect me, despite going 3 knots silent running and 900ft under.
I sent a decoy the other way while evading a torpedo (which actually got me, but didn't kill me).
After that they left me alone (one patrol ship actually ran ashore like the retarded fucking zigger he was) and I only had to navigate two mine belts and then I was completely alone; in fact there was NOBODY beyond the minefields, so after unloading I could simply LEAVE COMBAT.
This mission really was not hard.

I think I read too much information and i've got it all fucked up in my head can anyone confirm if this is correct?

If I want to fly an F-15 in DCS my only options are the F-15C which is low fidelity via flaming cliffs 3 (or stand alone?) or the F-15E which is a hi-fidelity from RAZBAM?
>>
>>539225000
i got a really cheap x52 pro because i had a bunch of coupons and shit at a microcenter that was doing a clearance on em, so i picked it up for 80 bucks thinking it was gonna shit itself within 2 years and i could get something else later.

This piece of shit refused to die 7 years later. I kind of like it desu but the biggest problems i have with it is it needs like 2 more hats and the software blows

That means it's time to buy a collective, anon. You can add a lot more hats that way, and it's not like you're only allowed to use them with helis.
>>
>>539351624
the two hats + pinky trigger as shift is fine on the stick, the real pain point is just having ONE hat on the throttle. Even with the pinky shift one single hat on the throttle sucks. Especially when im flying the F-16C which has so many functions on the throttle hats.
>>
>>539351624
why buy an expensive collective when you can just buy a cheapo left stick and take out the y-axis springs
>>
>>539353030
i've seen those VKB left stick for those HOSAS setups but i always wonder how people modded them so they behaved more like an actual throttle and wouldn't just snap right back to center. Seems like a problem to not have detents for idle cutoff and after burners too.
>>
>>539353312
I have the left stick in the omni throttle configuration because I also use it for Elite.
You can easily change it to a normal throttle by removing the springs on the y axis and tighten the friction screws.
To differentiate between mil power and burners, I set the max range on the y axis to 0 - 80, and have 80-100 be on the twist axis.
This way, pushing the trottle to max doesn't activate the burners until I use the normally unused twist axis

oh that's pretty clever. Does it get uncomfortable to use the twist axis to stay in AB for an extended amount of time or do you remove the springs for the twist axis as well so it's not trying to snap back to center?

This is the tradeoff I accept for using the left stick as 6DOF strafe controller, a collective, and a throttle.

Yes, it's for the UJTS competition to replace it, current contenders beside the M-346N are the T-7, the T-50N and the Scorpion lookalike.
>carrier variant
Nope, the Navy said they will do away with carrier qualifications and will only do FCLP to wave off. The only trainer being proposed with a hook and capable of carrier landings is the Scorpion lookalike, but they haven't build any actual prototype yet so it's still just a claim.

An air traffic controller on Tuesday had to repeatedly warn a Spirit Airlines flight to turn away from Air Force One's path as both traversed over New York, according to LiveATC audio.
>"Pay attention, Spirit 1300, turn 20 degrees right," the air traffic controller said.
>“Spirit 1300, turn 20 degrees right now. Spirit Wings, 1300 turn 20 degrees right immediately. Pay attention.”

Been doing some comparisons between DCS and IL-2. Picrel is Chartres Cathedral in IL-2 Normandy map. Looks legit to me. I like the consistency in IL-2.
DCS has got Paris... at 45 fps with an empty map, just my plane. The sun is a dot I can look straight into, yet the reflection on rooftops glow like Hiroshima. No idea what's up with the graphics in DCS. In all the YT vids they look awesome, but in game at 1440p high detail preset it looks like ass... No, actually it looks like Cliff of Dover most of the time with those bright toxic greens and the FPS shits the bed if you dare try and see the treed up close, which you shouldn't, cause they are ugly.

There are difficulty settings, apparently they determine detection ability of enemies and your hull strength. Doesn't seem to do anything about the AI.
Mission are basically randomly generated, i.e. you might be lucky with a spawn, or be put right in the middle of a gank squad.
Right now I'm supposed to intercept some dudes in the North Sea. Four attempts so far; two of them were aborted early because I just couldn't find anyone, one I managed to kill one sub, but as it turned out there were three more and if you run after them, all they need to do is a turn and they send a million torps your way and I ate one. Those active sonar torps can be really annoying. Usually they send them to active way too far back so I will have simply passed them before they activate, but sometimes they get right into my face.
Soviet subs are nearly blind, but once they smell the blood, I'm in for a bad time.

>>539479715
>$150k per seat per year for SDK access
this is the whole fucking dispute, razbam can't afford it up front.
raz also fucked themselves over by taking a contract with ecuador at a loss or break-even for the tucano to gain technical access and break into the market.
they reserved a 15% cut for ED on the tucano contract in negotiations with ecuador, but that wasn't enough to cover ED's SDK fees.
ron alleges there was no license agreement with ED for the tucano at that point and the only version that existed and was shown to ecuador was a 3DS model developed with no SDK tools.
>"MCS is one thing, DCS is a completely different thing. we have not been paid for what we have done in DCS" per ron
nick is trying to claw back alleged SDK fees due for the A-29, cutting that out of any potential commission fees owed to razbam for landing the ecuador contract and also apparently holding their DCS revenues as leverage.
>"every single penny which was invested in the technology for ED mission systems came out of fuckwit's pocket here, every penny"

ron structures his company where he has full ownership, but his products have "shareholders" and divide revenues among subcontractors.
the whole thing seems like a circle of contract hell.
>"if we can sign clearly with MCS, then there's no issue... but we do need to have very clear commercial arrangements with you"
ED also alleges that they haven't made any money on razbam's products in MCS.
raz apparently also gave shit away to the french without setting up proper contracts.
whole thing comes down to profit sharing disputes for commissions on military contracts won by third-parties.
>"what i'm doing is a form of leverage"
>"i think there's another part of the story, which is that everybody is ambitious and that everybody wants to get in on a potential good thing"
nick cites F15 timeline as being 3 years behind schedule, claims he would not have signed a razbam contract if he knew they wouldn't honor timelines
>"it's the same story i'm having right now with nick dackard... is because he doesn't respect the rules of the game and the timelines"
>"it's impossible to do business with him because he's permanently lying"
>"i'm very strict on these things with people and i give people chances, but had you said to me that you'll deliver in december of 2023 instead of december of 21 or whatever or whatever it was, mid 23, i never would've signed the contract with you"
nick claims ED would've just done the strike eagle themselves if they knew how long ron would take
>"i have been in business, doing more than 25 billion dollars worth of business in this weird part of the world which is eastern europe, and it's all been for one reason, and i haven't been shot in the head for it because we've honored our things and we continue to do so."
>"every single time somebody has tried to abuse me, they've paid a heavy price"
ron says don't worry about the MCS money, just asks them to pay them what they're owed for DCS.
>>
>>539483428
Nick kinda sounds like a megalomaniac
>>
>>539483428
the summary of wasting an entire hour listening to the threatening ramblings of a geriatric millionaire is that at least 50% of this is due to ron running his business like a fucking cowboy and ED was approaching and negotiating with them as if they were an actual legitimate company the entire time.

From yesterday videos my impression is that they only care about MCS and its related services, DCS is just a way for them to rake in extra money and get known.
MCS customers don't really care that it's a barren sandbox since they were alwasy going to make their own missions and scenarios by themselves. A dynamic campaign, balanced full fidelity modules between blue and redfor or QOL features only matter to civilian customers, which have no real modern alternative. Hopefully Falcon 5 will change things.

This one was pretty tense.
I caught a group of 4, went on their tail. As I was about to close in on the last one, the second FROM THE FRONT actually managed to detect me because I was JUUUUST not in the baffles. Instantly hit silent running and made for evasion. He came right for me, but lost me again, so resumed his original path, after which I now had him rather isolated from the others AND in front of me.
Not shown was me sinking him.
Also not shown was me getting hit by my own torpedo coming back at me because I somehow missed sending it straight away, so it looped back when the wire broke and hit me.
Then I went to pursue the other three, but apparently one of them actually waited for me and sent a torpedo my way, which activated right in front of me. Had I not done any evasion and just went straight, it would have missed me.
But 1968 is getting really frustrating, because I spend like 20 minutes (with time compression) just looking for dudes and then this kind of shit happens.

One escaped, but that's ok, just glad I managed to evade at least six torps.

It is confirmed that the Tucano doesn't exist beyond a 3d model, which wasn't made with any ED SDK.

It is confirmed that Razbam hadn't sold anything to anyone without a license, and that they didn't INTEND to sell anything to anyone without a license.

It is confirmed that Razbam didn't have MCS SDKs and did not have access to MCS, so they could not *possibly* sell or have sold anything on MCS.

nick grey explicitly states that he is illegally withholding Razbam's DCS pay to coerce them into signing a new contract with MCS.

nick grey's extortion scheme is justified SOLELY by his fear of the future POSSIBILITY of Razbam providing something to Ecuador in violation of contract. But Razbam HAD NOT provided anything in violation of contract, and the POSSIBILITY of a future violation cannot ethically be considered as justification for ED to seize Razbam's pay.

Ron rightly stood on principle that ED needed to fulfill their obligations under the existing contract before he would sign a new one

Ron rightly points out that ED's actions were abusive of the other Razbam workers, because it was holding their money hostage to coerce Ron into a contract that had NOTHING to do with those workers.

Razbam is under zero legal obligation to sign an MCS contract. None. They just cannot sell any modules to government entities if they do not sign an MCS contract- and yet, nick grey makes it clear that they MUST sign an MCS contract, or they will not get their DCS money (again, in violation of contract), and

nick grey literally theatens Ron with death: he says that people in his industry who do not deliver on their promises "get a bullet in their head", and in the same breath promises that anyone who opposes him "suffer a heavy penalty". That's an explicit threat.

The Fulcrum's ergonomics are hilarious. HOTAS is alien technology.

I can't believe no KGB spy ever told Mikoyan-Gurevich that pretty much every Western fighter by the 70's had an ACM or a Sidewinder button somewhere on the throttle or stick. Here you take your hands off and flip switches and knobs in completely different places.

Imagine a car that doesn't have steering column stalks. Turn indicator is a rotary switch on the door, wipers are a button you have to keep depressed on the center console, clutch is a switch that you have to flip up so you can shift and then flip back down to connect, also on the center console, and the headlight are a pedal you have to hold down. Also no speedo or tacho, just two lights that say "overspeed" and "overrev".

That's about how the Mig-29 feels.

I read about the first time American fighters did a friendly visit in a Warsaw Pact country, when Aviano F-16's visited a Hungarian Mig-23 squadron in 1990 (from the Hungarian perspective).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weAy1JKqUIw

Again, this was the first time ever something like this happened. When the Hungarian Flogger pilots saw the F-16's cockpit they were shocked. When the American Viper pilots saw the Mig-23's cockpit, they were also shocked.

Also there was a bit of an incident. When the F-16's crossed into Hungarian airspace, they were supposed to meet with the Floggers and fly in in formation. Ground-control had trouble finding them (again, first time imperial NATO and metric WP met), so the Flogger pilots had the bright idea to find them with their radar and lock on to them to get a BRA on them. Bit of a scare.

Cold Waters. I haven't played Dangerous Waters, but from what I can gather it's less simulation-y. There's no inside view or stations or anything, firing solutions are automatically generated depending on TMA quality; that can also automatically identify contacts provided there's enough information, but you can also identify them by yourself through sonar profiles. Detection and ASW play a big role; been raped a bunch of times by RBU and other assorted nasties.
Sometimes you need to evade fast and precise torpedos, and for that the outside view is a godsend.
Again, I haven't played DW, so I can't say what else is different.

>>
>>539665958
WT has the benefit of having a bajillion different planes across multiple eras. In DCS the closest thing we have to a both time period and "gameplay" balance is the F-86F vs MiG-15bis, and even then the sabre has to be stopped from taking sidewinders.

Entirely dependent on the server/players you come up against. Some days I get awesome dogfights and furballs on niggmas cold war and on others some of the dumbest and most unaware people I've ever seen. Typically the more modern (ie, popular) the server gets, the more retarded the players. Maybe it's just bias since I'm a redfor guy, but the blue players always seem to be the worse ones despite of all the advantages they get in their more modern aircraft.
>>
>>539666640
Which sounds fine, until you realize just how long it takes for one module to be released just in early access, with multiple years of development to get it feature complete. And since DCS aims for the most realism, each FF aircraft is so specific to one model that there's basically no overlap between any of them. I love the Mirage F1, but the variants we get in game are all Spanish, when did Spain ever use F1s in combat again? That's right, never. So instead we dress them up as Iraqi variants and fly them over Syria.
>>
>>539668113
Is the F1 even out of early access?
>>
>>539668113
>And since DCS aims for the most realism
nta, but not really. DCS used the "muh realism" only as an excuse for missing features, they had no problems adding unrealistic stuff for the block if it was easy to do. With the F-16 they even used the excuse of "we're modeling a particular squadron whithin the USAF, that's why it's missing X" until they got bullied into implementing it.
Same with other devs like HB with them wanting to make a mix mash of EF versions
>>
>>539668379
Nope, there's still the F1M and a radar rework coming. Maybe some new weapons, but aside from that its in a pretty good state.

if you can only model export versions of everything you might as well pick good ones.

It's not the MiG-29's fault for being from the 80's, it's ED's fault for giving us the 2000's versions of the US 4th gens. F-16A vs MiG-29A would have been peak but erectile dysfunction has no long term planning skills and just chases the most modern versions possible. Everything would be great right now if they just had made the A variants of the F-15, F-16, A-10 and Apache and made the modern versions later.

I don't usually defend slavshit but:
-The F-14 is a heavy fighter and for its time was probably the most expensive non-prototype/demonstrater aircraft to buy and operate anywhere on earth, you could probably buy multiple MiG-29s for the price of one Tomcat
-The Mirage 2000 we have in game is one of the later pre 2000-5 variants, it's a few years newer than the -29A, and it's not an export variant like the in the game -29A
Anyway operating the MiG-29 like a Western 4th gen is gonna get you wrecked everytime because it was a point defense fighter that always operated under strict control of GCI, the onboard radar was really just for the final stages of an engagement, not start-to-finish

What flight sim or DCS module would you guys recommend if I like Cold War and don't want to do dogfighting missions? I've only been getting into combat flight sims, and won't be able to afford a head tracker for a long time, so evading missiles and such will probably be hemorrhoidal.

Viggen is the best non A2A cold war aircraft in DCS, probably one of the best strike fighters of its time. The one we have in game is difficult to do well in in a dogfight, and excels at hit and run on static ground targets.

Tried some warbids stuff in DCS, but my God! Is this engine complete ass or what. At medium-high detail I get like 45 FPS over Normandy and that's with 9700X, 32 gigs and 9060XT. Game says I'm GPU-bound. Lowering anything that's intensive on the GPU makes the game look like complete dogshit. This shit used to run way better on my previous PC a few years ago. Fuck it, I'm back to IL-2. The graphics are amazing, there's some artistic style to it that some may not like, but man, nothing beats flying in cloudy weather, when suddenly the skies clear and the sun starts shining through.

Nah, it doesn't seem worth it. For WWII stuff, IL-2 offers a whole lot more than DCS, and for jets, the dynamic campaign from BMS just owns everything. Honestly, the only thing DCS has going is choppers and attention to cockpit detail, but that gets boring fast, once you learn how things work.

the annoying part is that the choppers are good but everything you use them for is trash.
even with the hacked-together ctld stuff, ground units don't really move independently, interact with each other, or react to players in a realistic way.
after mastering the initial challenge of getting around without exploding, it just becomes a cardboard cutout target practice game.
ground combat needs a total overhaul for rotor ops to really be enaging

These russian flight sims don't understand that they are also allowed to be video games. They feel so sterile and devoid of any artistic expression. Janes WWII Fighters taking place in a museum and having a UI designed to look like cockpit panels, or CFS2 having a comic book aesthetic, were all great touches.

>These russian flight sims don't understand that they are also allowed to be video games
In the Enigma video Nick Gray admits they do not have anyone who knows how to run the game aspect of the sim nor they care, they only care about recreating the aircraft. Knowing this and knowing just how much he likes to blow his own trumpet as the perfect CEO makes me think DCS has no real future. If your company has such a clear weakness as the CEO your first tought would be to search for someone who knows how to do that thing and hire him.

I had a dream last night that a plane I thought was a DA-40, even though it clearly wasn't as it had tip-tanks, was doing spin training near me over the houses. It basically tumbled out of the sky and then recovered without 30 feet to go, just over the rooftops, and repeated this a few times. I thought to myself 'This is going to end badly', and then it did, it crashed into a house and blew up. I saw a load of people getting their phones out and ringing 999 or filming it so I couldn't be bothered ringing myself, then the dream ended. I don't know what this means. Probably that I've been coming here for too long.

yeah it's that one, i had email notifications turned on for the forum but they didn't work.
These three highlighted fixes are the most important ones for me.
For the past few months landing smoothly was almost impossible due to the twitchiness of the imputs. Meanwhile Direct Link logic will make stalls not a death sentence anymore. I wonder if IRL they ever tried doing a cobra with direct link just to test the structure limits. Most likely they test this stuff with hydraulic presses and cold drops.
>>
>>540020879
Not to start yet another argument, but it goes to show that even in X Plane it's down to the developer to make a plane that flies realistically.
>>
>>540021010
Yeah, I think that it's the case with all sims. The engine of the game just determines how much leg room the developers have imho.
>>
>>539929252
IL-2 Korea is supposed to release this year, it's early jets though. There are some mods for BMS, like Korea '80s, still, it's F-16s just with limited weapons. Lastly you could try IL-2 1946 with mods - SAS has pretty much got everything you might want, if you want to be bothered learning new keybinds and how their janky implementation of everything works, but it's possible to recreate Vietnam with this. If you can run it that is, cause it doesn't launch on my new PC at all (tried everything, apparetnly new Windows has some dlls missing).

Personally I think DCS is just shit for manouver fights. I have finally sorted my settings and locked the game down to 60 FPS (it's the fucking shadows and clouds, as well as render distance!). Did some dogfights against AI in the warbirds. I can't put my finger on it, but something just feels off. From how the guns sound, to how the engines are almost silent until you go full throttle. The fucking AI goes into scissors in the 190s. Planes feel floaty, but also twitchy, especially at lower speads. Default dogfight quick missions set up for a failure, cause you're 100% fuel and that means rear tank for the Pony. Then there's the tracers and overal made-up scripted damage that is just utter shit. I botched a landing and dug my nose into the ground, only for the plane to get right back up with only a bent prop, no damage to the gear and a fucking 30mm round hole in my left wing.
Tried a Sabre vs Mig-15 scenario. Now I know the Mig was retarded Soviet shit, but someone should tell that to the AI as they don't seem to know how to separate. Oh and it's also funny that the AI skill level seems to just be random regardless of what you select - rookie can be damn hard to beat, while ace quite often goes retard and flies in a shallow turn occasionally reversing in the worst possible moment.

Regarding the Nick Grey interview where he states they don't know how to make a game and they care only about making a digital cockpit simulator (and ww2 birds are losing them money and are done only because he likes them).
I see no issue with this had they not constantly made cinematic trailers meant to trick new users into thinking actual combat simulation/game elements were present. Had they stayed true to what their product is nobody would have any ground to stand on when complaining about the missing game/combat sim elements
That's just my 2 cents.
>>
>>540146341
>That's just my 2 cents.
I also agree with this, and selling snake oil to gamers have been a double edged sword.
Sure there's a lot more money available for new projects, and us flight simmers get to benefit from that, but everything is filled with the incessant whining about balance and muh gameplay.
I ED had told the gamers to go fuck themselves we would still be teasing the F/A-18C right now.
>>
>>540147372
>whining about balance and muh gameplay
they don't even need to gamify it, they just need to expand the scope of their digital cockpit museum procedure simulator to include other elements of the historic environments these aircraft existed in.
keep it a sandbox, don't bother with dynamic campaign, just spend a couple years pumping out full-fidelity assets to round out proper orders of battle for specific periods or conflicts and let players do the rest.
overhauling the ground AI alone would do more for the fidelity of the sim than adding a dozen new planes.

For my levels of autism not yet, there are a lot of function that are yet to be implemented. Some are impossible due to the limitations of XPlane, but some others should be.
The flight model is improving but it still feels a bit too on the rails and without inertia.
But we're almost at the point I could easily reccomend it to people who just want something fast to fly in the sim, especially when you compare it to the other addons I saw which tend to either be XP10/11 ports or cashgrabs like the T-7.
Also, I'm sad that they moved the HUD symbology lower, from their reply it seems it's more realistic this way which is fine to me, but I liked it more when it neatly occupied the whole vertical space.
The one time I sat in a M-346 the heading tape/speed/alt bubbles were higher than they currently are, but I'm tall so I guess it was just a trick of the eye paired with me obviously not being able to adjust the seat to my preference. It would makes sense, as during landings if they were too high and you raised your seat like in an F-16/M2000 you would lose sight of them. In the M2000 IIRC they automatically lower during dogfights and landings.

Yes, it's just a minor annoyance because the more you raise your seat the "shorter" the HUD shape appears, and one of the things that I immediately liked about the M-346 was the very tall HUD. I'm a HUD bitch. You can imagine my disappointment in knowing they chose those BAE low profile HUDs for the block 20 upgrade.

I'm not sure, I don't know what others were expecting of it. It's not a toggle, you have to do an entire save or "company" with hard mode on, and I want to finish the DLC first but it's taking me a long time because it is ballcrushing. Hard mode toggle on the multiplayer browser also includes easy mode (infinite sand, free cars) so it's not a good indicator.
I haven't played enough with fuel for it to matter, so far scouts seem to have barely enough in the tank for one exploration trip, and tracked vehicles delete fuel in liters per second. The gearbox is whatever, reverse and neutral are either for roleplay or a steering wheel feature I'm not aware of, but the high gear is fun on supported vehicles

Is it DLSS? Or is 1080p not enough, and I have to upgrade my rig AGAIN to play this shit slavic nightmare of a "game"?
>>
>>540182430
its probably DLSS I can spot bandits with my shitty 1280p resolution VR headset where I can distinguish between each individual pixel
>>
>>540182430
1080p is better for spotting than higher resolutions.

how the fuck do I get good at UBOAT and making good torpedo shots
I'll find myself in a convoy with freighters at point blank range (~1500m) and if I task my officers to make a firing solution, they're just too slow even with crew assigned to help them.
If I decide to make the solution myself manually, the torpedo misses most of the time.

Any tips or good tutorials out there?

On mine, the hinge at the base is loose and the only thing that holds it in position is the pinched cable. As time goes on that friction fit wears down and causes the camera to slide, so I wrapped a layer of tape around the cable at that spot and made it a snug fit again.
A decade later and it's still working lmao

>>
>>540278261
You can probably roll back to an older version of DCS. You are five generations behind with that CPU though, it tell you to upgrade but Intel is shit now and you'd probably need a new motherboard anyway, so you might as well see what AMD has to offer.
>>
>>540278282
>smoking salvia
You're supposed to infuse salvia in the butter while it browns before tossing in the casonsei, not smoke it.
>>
>>540278598
I got a 5060 recently, I don't know if it's still worth to move to AMD even if my card isn't a Radeon.

I've been updating this aging shitbox over the years, so I think all I need is a mobo, a CPU, RAM, and a cooler. Not sure about PSU. My house, NVME, SSD, GPU are all keepers.
