Every map on Alm's side is either "Big empty field" or "Big empty field with all the enemies hauled up in a small fortress". Every map on Celica's side is either "Tiles that reduce movements while the enemy is hauled up in a small fortress" or "Tiles that reduce movements while the enemy endlessly summons more enemies" (Sometimes, the summoner is hauled up in a small fortress).3. The dungeons are a cool novelty at first, but in practice you're never in real danger, the enemies inside them come in too small groups to be dangerous.4. The game doesn't have a hub but it's still full of chores. The dungeons are not dangerous but still take time to explore and fight the non-dangerous enemies so it feels like a chore. Exploring the non-dungeon areas to get all the items is a chore. Walking back and forth from different areas to bring some item to a previous town for a quest is a chore.

People are not looking at the bigger picture here. The game isn't simply a prequel or sequel set in the 3H universe, but rather a whole new universe from scratch, with its own lore and background.
