For example in Dies Irae he has the ability to stop time but when he does that his body becomes vulnerable to damage so the only way for him to keep himself safe from an attack during stasis is if he also has another power that negates physical effects.Or maybe you're talking about how in some cases MC's powers are limited by certain conditions such as the amount of mana available at any given moment which can cause problems depending on what the situation calls for. But then again in those circumstances it would be more of a matter of planning and strategy rather than pure strength alone. Like in Demonbane where MC can create a black hole around his hand but the size of the hole depends directly on the mana left within his system meaning he needs to calculate exactly when to use it based off of how much energy he has remaining for that turn. So there's always going to be some kind of limitation even if it might just be related to how hard you hit the opponent.
