I was thinking: levels aren’t necessarily a measure of power but when they still have a big number that gets balanced by gameplay (like Papa Don having two nerfs bringing him from 90 to close to functionally level 50 in form of the Wilted and further Golden Bought forced arbitration effect) it feels there is a bigger intention. Like, Night Drifter was 70 but nerfed by Guilt and Poison for example, which indicates he IS stronger than he was meant to be when fought. It’s also close to Zilu’s 75 which indicates much.Regardless, my point with this is Lei Heng was level 83. He was a Capo IIII in the verge of a Sottocapo promotion. This uneven number is the puzzling part, as usually it’s a multiple of 5. Could it be then that a Sottocapo has 85? She doesn't menace with the repressed instincts of a bloodfiend or carry the dream of a moonlight knight. She doesn't have any connection to the Fingers or walk the path of Asura. She doesn't have any connection to N Corp outside of Ahab, or any intrigue in her past circumstances. Her friends and motivating connections are all dead, and she has neither distorted nor shown the seeds of a stellar EGO. She doesn't have any ties to the Yurodiviye, and though she isn't special, she doesn't have any contention with the label. She isn't Chosen and lacks the potential to become the sovereign of a star. She has no ties to the Smoke War, and isn't stained by the shadow of the Head's taboos. She doesn't have any interesting deformities or omens of metamorphosis.Why does she exist, other than to point at Ahab and say "UUOAAAAH I'M BLINDLY OBSESSED"? And after that final moldering morsel of relevance is shaken from her, what's next?
For those that don’t understand what it means to be a Sakurai character it means there is a 90% chance you are a Potential Man.>45% chance most of your role is power and power is the core of your existence and all people will talk aboht and praise you for. Not necessarily sheer brute power as superb skill is counted. But your character will be relegated to a plot device because if he could use all that power it’d be a storybreaker. He will be as strong as the situation needs him and then those powers will never matter again.>45% chance you do nothing. You don’t have power, Sakurai doesn’t care about you. You won’t even be a jobber, you will die a dog’s death accomplishing nothing, at most being because you slowed the villain the party survived but most of the time your role might as well have not existed.>10% chance you are the rare breed that Sakurai actually wrote you properly and did a nice character. Good luck with that. Newer interviews also expose some of those rare times were because the other writers either took over the portion of her chapter or advised her.

The whole thing that Jia Qiu mentioned of the flames of revenge burning himself. Except there wasn’t a Hong Lu trying to save people to give him any hope.
