Got told to try an API the other day after going through the local models I've tried, and yeah- That's pretty impressive. I especially like Kimi K2-Instruct 0905, so far. I've also tried some more local models, though, and I've gotta say, some of them get close. dans-personalityengine-v1.3.0-24b especially punches way above its weight somehow. It feels on par with the models too big to run quickly on my PC for most stories.For now, I'm just flipping between them so I don't get too used to/bored of any one model's writing style.I'm finding some models are better for certain kinds of stories. K2-Instruct 0905 will make some awkward characters talk like they've turned into machines instead of just making them regular awkward, and dan's personality engine will try to give dominant characters a penis and submissive characters a cervix no matter what.
