The cpu scored their first goal.
They are still too cautious but I've added extra weights like passing to a teammate with a high shoot stat and whether they are close to goal. There is a lot to balance.

But essentially that is the main game loop. The match restarts after a goal is scored. The last thing to add is to force an encounter when a defender gets too close.

it's still possible to make an appealing game with this mindset, but you really need to know what you're doing
otherwise you end up making some shitty gamemaker hypergeneric 2d jrpg that literally nobody likes except from you because the antagoist vaguely resembles your oneitis's boyfriend back in highschool and you spend the game gearing up your squad to humiliate him, bait the oneitis stacy into asking you out, and then rejecting her to date some side character you met while along your journey who just so happens to have a bubbly personality and share similar interests with you
chad thundercock gets mogged by your squad of wizards, mercenaries, and rangers
the oneitis stacy is left to wallow in pity for rejecting you when you were younger
and you end up marrying the qt3.14 you randomly met while slaying goblins
the game gives you a happy ending because it appeals to your individual strongest fantasy

but then you check steam and a mobile game about shooting skeletons is blowing up because the developer spammed tiktok with low quality advertisements relying on elementary narrative propositions

it's not a fun industry
you need to know what you're doing
you really need to thoroughly validate why anybody would ever care about your game if you expect to make any significant revenue

I continue to fiddle with movement.
I tweaked the player’s minimum speed, acceleration and friction to feel better.
I have incorporated air movement that allows the player to gain speed by bunny hopping with limited air control. To compensate for the acceleration based air movement I added a dash mechanic.
Dashing and then jumping lets you go really fast.
The dash also lets you pull out of a bad jump.
Tomorrow I will add head bob and wind streaks above a certain speed. I have plans tonight so no coding for me.
I think I will aim to have the rocket launcher working this weekend as well.
