I think my main problem is not the bad ending/good ending thing. It's the fact there is like 6 endings and all of them have unfinished tones. I collapsed a couple of those beast burrows and wandered into some wraith that was like level 14 while I was level 2 or 3. I killed it and kept playing, then at some point I noticed all my gear was broken. I couldn't anywhere near afford the repairs, so I checked online for a money glitch. That had been patched, so all I really had to do was weigh my options, which were basically restart and lose half a day of playtime, or drop the game. I hadn't really been enjoying it; the combat wasn't very fun, and I didn't like the bajillions of items there were to sort through, not knowing what was trash and what wasn't. Put it down with the intention to come back to it one day, but hasn't happened yet.

V will talk more during fights and when your health reaches a modifiable threshold. It also has other options like talking when entering a car or when idle for so long; I turned off the idle chatter last night since it activated during the car ride with Dex, but the mod has been updated to prevent that apparently. Seems pretty cool so far.
