Other recommend things to change is in the "user_settings.config" turn off both "particle cast shadows" and "lens quality" aka Chromatic Aberration. The first setting gives a huge FPS boost because AH in their infinite wisdom made every single particle give off dynamic shadows. The other setting just makes the game look way clearer unless you enjoy your game looking like a shitty, dying camera.
