After much code wrangling, I was able to get a somewhat usable Index touch pad and force grip in VRChat for inputs by reading the rotations of the fingers. Unfortunately, the touch pad vertical axis only moves thumb in the bottom half of the input. So I can only get half of the vertical touch pad. But I can work with that. Calibrating both the touch pad and force grip is tricky though. Its not as shrimple as recording max and mins. Right now the user kinda has to chase a good enough solution by going back and forth until it feels right, which sucks. And the calibration only works for one avatar. But good enough for some soda can squishing gimmicks. I'll post the gimmicks I do when I get around to making them.

I wish smart watches would detect happy/sad/excited/depressed states, and then report it through some interface. Doesn't matter if it's shit, or if it takes minutes to recognize a new state, it'd still be useful to me. I want to have presets for each behavior in avatar, different facial expressions, different eyes, wagging tail and putting ears up when excited i'm not a furry, but i've finally caved in for kemono parts only recently and it's plenty of fun to have it, but so far googling for even a flawed wearable that detect emotions proves it's just not a thing. There's some Empatica Embraceplus, but it's clearly not a consumer product, and at $1000 price range I might just opt out for switching between presets with radial menu.

Would Neural Bands + controller be the ultimate VR input? The Neural bands get you full *finger* tracking. Controllers get you the hand position and actual feedback with vibration and tactility. Hopefully adaptive triggers catch on soon. Ideally, most of the controller wouldn't be necessary. With the Neural Band, I can see a lot of actions being binded to gestures. But the most important actions still having buttons assigned to them. One thing i don't like is how controllers get in the way of using your hands. They take up the entire palm. Maybe something like the shitall or those gloves with a few buttons on it will just werk.
