Women love customization, the DLC barely had any. They should've added armor recoloring, or the ability to add trimmings.

I try to go for what this anon said more or less in Kuttenburg. A full matching set, all tier 3, but nothing overly fancy or well finished. Something Henry could realistically acquire but not a full noble suit that he would likely need to have custom ordered. (Although Henry can afford a top tier horse in game so what's a custom suit of armor at that point but a drop in the bucket?) Rule of thumb I use for my immersion when I play is to try not to dress fancier or use better armor than my social betters, mainly Hans. I want to look decently well equipped so as not to embarrass the lords of Leipa as their man at arms, but not so well as to show up my lord or come across as someone trying to overstate their social standing. Trosky I wear whatever I can find bandit/mercenary style.

Apparently if you avoid killing the 2 bandits that show up to harass the herb woman in the prologue then they eventually become decent fighters and get assigned to your squad in the final siege.

If you kill them, then you end up with a couple of random terrified peasants instead.

I liked the clock repair scene but it felt like they were doing a bit how they didn't animate a single second of the clock actually being repaired and our only indication of what is going on the entire time is just a profanity laden stream of consciousness. I started the game wanting to main a warhammer but every discussion I checked says that they suck compared to swords, and I'm already getting the shit kicked out of me while using a sword. Is that really true?
>>
>>540241268
KCD1 or 2? Use whatever you want in KCD1. In 2 yes, only swords can do master strike. Do the combat training side quest with Tomcat.
>>
>>540241268
KCD requires stats, equipment, and player skill in order to excel in combat. You need all 3. You can't have just 1 or 2.

Before I mention anything else you'll want to find Tomcat and learn the essential combat maneuvers from him. You'll also want to look around for combat trainers as you play the game and unlock as many combos as possible.

The issue you're going to face using heavy weapons is that at some point you're going to be facing multiple opponents and you won't have the option to dump all your stamina into breaking through one guy's guard. In those situations swords are king because they can master strike for guaranteed hits without wasting any stamina.

If you are going to use hammers then you're going to want to keep an eye on your stamina and recover whenever it reaches half capacity. And in general you always want to be looking for chances to train your stats up and get better gear. Spamming practice duels and clearing bandit camps for a bit is a fine way of doing that.

>>540287212
I can't lie getting through this DLC is the first time I've found either game genuinly tedious. The main mission only took a few hours and leveling the forge feels Skyrim radiant quest tier
>>
>>540292721
I was hype about getting more smithing content, but I expected being able to forge more gear (categories I mean, not uniques, honestly the uniques are pretty neat besides how ridiculously long do they take to unlock). But what I didn't expect was just having some old coot yelling in my ear every day about how I have to forge a shitty knife for pennies and needing to travel the same set of stairs 4 fucking times to get the job done.
>>
>>540293476

>>
>>540292721
I would be more forgiving if it wasn't buggy as fuck on top of being tedious. Literally all of the bugs I reported to support except for the alchemy bench weren't fixed in the hotfix.

>>

As long as you don't criticize people for playing the way they want, who gives a shit.
>>
>>540336358
This. I roleplay SUPER hard when it comes to gear, choices, and dialogue but I save scum like a motherfucker and use mods like trough washing supreme, free saving, free fast travel, and weight limit mods without a second thought. The devs openly support mods. There isn't a "correct" way to play, even in vanilla, and that's what makes a real rpg a real rpg.
>>
I've actually never seen a cool looking Henry outfit that wasn't modded.
>>
>>540346557
What makes a "cool" Henry outfit in your opinion?
>>
>>540347401
A consistent theme is all I really want. Nothing blends well together. It's all jarring no matter what combination of items you equip. All of the NPCS get custom unobtainable equipment that was actually made to look good where as Henry never gets anything of the sort.

>create Henry's Fox potions for 50% xp bonus on everything before even leaving the prologue
I wouldnt do this if I were you since vanilla xp gains are very quick already and your henry is going to max out long before you finish even half the content. If its your first playthrough its likely going to harm your enjoyment. Honestly vanilla pacing and progression shouldve just been like hardcore with the numbskull modifier, xp gains in kcd 2 vanilla are too generous and not well tuned to the amount of content imo
>>

I fucking two shot the guy on my original playthrough. I would say they should massively buff the HP of all "bosses" but if people are already struggling then IDK what they can do other than adding a fucking difficulty slider.
>>
>>540367716
Kind of got to give it to them. I found most of the KCD villains after Runt a bit uninteresting. Toth was just some guy in the intro I'd forgotten about by the time of the big reveal, Bergow was some smug asshole who kept losing, Erik is some butt hurt rape victim with stokholm syndrome, and Sigismund is actually pretty chill. But With Magdelena they created the perfect unlikable, unkillable hate sink in the form of a horny pensioner

Her one point to exist in this DLC was to give us passive income by the sales chest which is/was bugged and made it seem like she steals from you
You have no choice SHE WILL live in the shop with you
She constantly bombards you with unwanted filler quests that aren't worth it
Occasionally comes into your room to do so

Warhorse's take on ancient Rome would be cool. Crusades are still my dream but if Kuttenburg was already pushing the engine Idk if that's reasonable. I like it a lot personally, but I don't mind traversing the map back and forth and enjoy planning routes/navigating.
The punchable face combined with the slower xp gains modifiers actually does a lot to increase difficulty. And if you take all debuffs you will definitely have to put a ot more effort into passing skill checks than before in early game. I think it makes the pacing of the game a lot better due to delayed xp.

Turns out in 2019 Warhorse made a KCD Christmas greetings video with a hilariously unhinged Nativity scene.
>baby Jesus Henry
>Ma and Radzig as Mary and Joseph (sucks for Martin)
>Angel Hans
>Lady Stephanie creeping in to rob the cradle
>Istvan and Erik visiting just because

https://youtu.be/vPwp-ikiE20?si=q3rXPwIE1wgbJ1lV
>>
>>540467840
That's hilarious, it's so cursed.
>>Ma and Radzig as Mary and Joseph (sucks for Martin)
I mean, putting Martin as Joseph would make Radzig god and probably be even worse.
>>
>>540394385
Yeah runt was great
They really fucked it up by not making markvart more a big deal in kcd2, his encounter is even optional. Might be a minor issue if theres a big gap between two games, but playing kcd2 immediately after kcd1 makes it a glaring issue like warhorse randomly changed priority which is understandable bc its a different game technically but as a direct sequel the lack of markvart is underwhelming
>>
>>540467840
>Theresa dancing with Godwin
Theresabros...
>>
>>540395830
I know warhorse hates writing women but Ma not even having a name this far into the franchise is so dumb. Wish they'd give her some backstory but I know they'd just fuck it up anyway.
>>
>>540479538
It would be accurate, though. Joseph usually isn't considered the main dad.
>>
>>540467840
>Angel Hans
Hansbros keep winning
>>
>>540492184
>henry as the devil
>hans as the angel
What does warhorse mean by this?
>>
>>540435921
It's meant to be Geordie (accent of the inhabitants of Northern England near Newcastle and the Tyne river) which was one of the big UK mining centres for hundreds of years. Selling Coals to Newcastle is a semi-famous phrase that someone's just done something incompetent and unnecessary, and yeah while I'm impressed at Warhorses knowledge of British industrial history the actual execution of it in game is even worse than the real Geordie accent.

Some cunt in Raborsch wants a bearded axe. Its about half a day there and back and he's only going to pay me roughly 300-350 groshen. Are Warhorse taking the piss with this quest design?
>>
>>540505404
I had that same one, some random guard on the street. I was so pissed. It was a full day trip to deliver the fucking axe. And I was wondering, how the fuck did this guy go to Kuttenberg and tell Magdalena what she wanted and then went all the way back that fast?

They definitely fucked something up with ranged hits. It's like they're bypassing armor or something now.
>>
>>540539657
They've implemented a lot of anti-fun changes.
What they haven't done is added any of the things people asked for.
>>
I have been in the Kuttenberg region for quite some time now, and haven't had a single random encounter on that map yet - are they just super rare there, or is this a bug? Or is there some kind of side quest that blocks random encounters from happening until you complete it?
>>
>>540555835
Probably a bug, you're supposed to be having quite a lot of encounters. I usually get one on average when travelling between towns.

>My room at the Emperor Charles Inn
+Luxurious
+Comfy bed

-Pretty far distance from the nearest baths

+Waking up and having Godwin or Hans or whoever give you a "Good morning!" prompt feels amazing
+All the necessary services, baths, alchemist, smithy, training ground, shooting ground

+/-Have to share room with Capon (many of you will consider that a pro)
-No real shops like in Kuttenberg
-Far away from Kuttenberg

The weapon mounting feature carries the player room for me. It isn't just a nice, well furnished room but a reminder of my journey. I have Menhart's sword, my shields, Von Aulitz's sword, and Hans' bow hanging up. It almost feels like a small museum exhibit.

Sigismund already ordered a whole district of Kuttenberg burned to the ground on the suspicion that they had one single spy there, imagine if he found out the Hole in the Wall hosted a full group of them. And Kuttenberg is crawling with Sigismund's servants to the point Liechtenstein has to live in a cellar. Whereas the Devil's Den is just the Mos Eisley cantina and nobody wants to go check it out because it's both dangerous and worthless (or so they think).
>>
>>540575536
It would work a lot better as a hub if the kuttenberg map had more content in the countryside and small villages. Most small towns only have 1-2 side quests to pick up there and they feel very minor and never really start quest chains. It would've been nice to have more quests focused on superstitous peasants in the countryside and hunting like in kcd1. They could've utilized the second map better imo, the space is there but there's a lack of things to do outside of kuttenberg and sigismund camp imo, and the game can feel a bit dead outside of those locations.

Honestly I kind of wish we could get a dlc with a new protag that is focused more on peasant life and building yourself up from nothing in the world, would be a good way to utilize more of the map and get more of a fresh kcd experience without waiting at least half a decade for a new game

Why give this as advice?
There are no downsides and it's literally canon now.
>>
>>540621325
If you want to have an easy time and swim in money, start leveling up your lockpicking and sneaking skills early on so you quickly reach the point where you can easily rob stores to make several thousands in a single night.
It's a bit game-breaking tho since it makes money completely meaningless for you.
>>

Why didn't they give us a 2 handed warhammer?
>>
>>540638793
They treat it as an open secret, and to their credit they do try to undo the implied hurt to Divish by implying he not only knew about it, but wanted it to happen. So everyone knows Henry did it wink wink, and even Divish is like ah yes "my" son wink wink. It's as nice as it's gonna get but Stephanie was still predating on a young scared man. Have the same experience. Skill level shouldn't affect your damage as much as it does, I'd rather have to dunk on Kuttenberg beggars 2-3 times for them to die, than just one-shot guys in full plate. Otherwise it loses all meaning. There's an argument to use worse and worse gear, but not that many low quality weapons are that cool.
