The second part is complete aids to do at my level, I cant easily break off the missiler arms with sylvie even with blazer buff. So did some digging. Machine guns are still considered assault weapons. The fang frame ability only gives the extra damage if we go with ranged/melee/tactical. Luckily Fridas send best is in ranged so we got a 1 handed light sniper. Now my bread and budda will get the extra 14-20% damage and my range is out to 4. Actually quite nice. I can count on my foot how many times since launch over used fridas secondary weapon.

Most pilots have weapon specific skills, for example Kaidan has pile/knuckle skills and shotgun skills, so using machineguns or shields or two handed weapons negates all of his abilities and makes him useless. As for the ST, just find one with passives that benefit the pilot's skills or weapons. Example, STs that buff ranged attacks are useless for melee pilots, but helpful for snipers and other ranged units. It's all very straightforward once you have a thorough look at your pilot skills and your ST passives.

Is it just me or some achievements for the elite missions are downright impossible to do when you unlock them? Currently on 6-3 and it's just bullshit. Naomi with Arcus and a lvl 46 missile launcher can't one shot the particle spreader, there's a guard next to it, and the melee units that could reach it can't re-atk. And that's the first achievement, can't imagine beating William with two of those things enabled causing you DoT, removing re-atk, and sapping your AP.Seriously, the more I play, the more tired I get of all this artificial difficulty bullshit.
