Just hit 36 on my hardcore Warrior. Biggest challenge so far has been not grouping with paladins. There's so fucking many of them! But i have been successful so far. Ran Gnomer and got all the quests done paladin free. SM is on the horizon and all the juicy scarlet gear will be mine. Did a quick "lfm sm armory" and received so many whispers from paladins and all will be ignored. It's my sacred charge after all

The 60 dungeon/prebis ecosystem in classic worked somewhat because warriors were not brought as dps so they had to suck it up and tank, and any class with a heal button would only be brought as a healer so they had to suck it up too. It was an arrangement that nobody really enjoyed but had to endure. But turtle? Nobody is healing. NOBODY. it's THE bottleneck right now and it's not going to get any better. If you're a rogue, you arent getting in any dungeon because druids paladins and warriors want all your gear. Same goes if you are a dps paladin or warrior (big surprise). Shadow priest? Lmao get fucked, warlocks dont want you and neither do mages. Those healer priests are the most valuable thing on the server right now and you could make a mint selling your healing ass for gold, no joke

I don't understand how there is such a healer deficit if more than half of the server is playing either paladin or shaman. Druid and Priest are the least played classes too, I figured tanking would be the least attractive role but apparently everybody hates healing now.

Those classes are essentially railroaded into healing in vanilla because that's what is required of them at 60, so they prebis grind healing gear. Now in turtle that they can tank and dps as well as other classes, whilst still retaining all of their insane qol and utility kit, they don't have to anymore.
Im not saying vanilla was perfect, but it worked. Your healer classes weren't able to do every role at 60 so you nutted up and did what you were asked or told to kick rocks.

I've had this happen to me a few times. Now before the run I let everyone know that I'll be using master loot on the bosses i want gear from, and if anyone has a problem with it they can leave. The holy paladins usually instantly dip lol

His post is a microcosm of the problem with the outdated loot mechanics in wow.
If he ran with a guild and a guildie won the item, it's still a net gain for him because his guildie will be stronger meaning the (eventual) raid will go smoother, and, its potentially one less person in the guild that needs the item meaning that HIS character could be next in line for it, provided he runs the dungeon again. The only potential drawback is if guilds cycle in new members and he brings one of the new people along to run it and loses out again.
Running dungeons with randoms, theoretically, means that you could lose out on certain items forever because each time the item has to drop and you have to win the roll. This is why people stack groups in their favor to eliminate some of the rng involved in the entirely rng loot system.
Determistic loot remedies this as we saw with classic pvp system. You are literally guaranteed the purps so long as you engage with the grind. There's zero rng involved, just time.
TLDR wows loot system is outdated and retarded and the solution is more deterministic loot/personal loot/stacking groups in your favor
