Overall the remake was good, i was a little disappointed they didn't add more stuff to the game but considering how bad the last trials game were, maybe that was a good thing.
The gameplay still has the same flaws as the og, str characters are useless and ats characters just cast clock up and white gehenna/diamond dust every fight, the quick battle mode does an okay job with dealing with the small mobs.
The unique quartz in the game were really boring and that's been a problem since the first calvard game, i don't know why they made a lot of fun quartz in Reverie and just decided to stop using them.
And i hope they actually change stuff gameplay wise in the second game because from what i remember its more of the same
But even with those flaws i still look forward to playing the Second Chapter

The recent hubub made me go check out Kuro 2. I'm about 8 hours in and having fun.

Characters won't shut the fuck up but that's every Trails game. Marchen Garten is fun. Game has a very Enchanted Arms meets Yakuza vibe. Story is full retard and that's actually kind of nice, I can't really articulate why. Has a "we gave a dude the mic and told him to start talking, don't stop" feeling, rambly. The real time/turn based hybrid stuff is much more fun here than in 1, too. This game kicks ass.
