What is actually the issue with FE Shadows? I'm looking across here and /v/, twitter, blusky, serenes, even dusty fuck tumblr, it seems like no matter what your favorite FE game is or where you align in the fandom, most people feel that this isn't the way to go for a potential FEH replacement (if indeed FEH is EOS'ing soon). I see a lot of critique about how the art style is not "fire emblem" and I find that curious because the series has had so many art styles over the years. Is it just a really bad first impression? Like you look at the game and instinctively you just know "No, this isn't Fire Emblem" ? I also think the concern would be a lot more pronounced if we didn't know FW was on the way (as in outright anger about the direction the series is going in). It was smart of them to put the Direct ahead of this.

Kurt is such a missed opportunity. I wish we got a FE protagonist that is an hermaphrodite one day. There's a lot you can do with that idea especially in terms of character writing and drama. I've seen a manga before of a similar concept where one of the kids of a king was born an hermaphrodite and followed in on his father's footsteps and took revenge on the people that killed him, overthrew his own brothers, his wife got killed, got impregnated by the captain of the guard who decided to fight a civil war to take over his kingdom and take him as his wife, and ended up having to execute him. Of course, neither FE nor the FE community could actually write an Hermaphrodite protagonist because all they know are mentally ill trannies and refuse to study history (this was based on a king in France)
