A lot of rewrites are so fucking awful because the people giving them know as much, if not less, than the writer.
The greatest example of this is Sonic.exe. Sonic.exe was written by a retarded, unemployed pedophile. He's stupid! It should be very easy to write something better than him. The problem is if you know a little bit about writing, it's extremely easy to critique Sonic.exe, so you have all these people writing pages upon pages shitting on Sonic.exe.

Anyway, this story is TEN PAGES long, and that isn't much, but it is if I were to do a line-by-line analysis. The point is this story's gay. It's bad, and it's worse than Sonic.exe because Sonic.exe is at least entertaining.
See, a lot of these people are insecure. Their writing literally can't be fun, so any comedic JC-isms like "smart gamer" and "hyperrealistic blood" aren't included. This is why everybody loves Sonic.exe while nobody cares about Blue Pendrive. Blue Pendrive is literally for retarded niggers wanting to engage in some gay elitism, and this is because the story's bad, and not even funny bad.
Mighty.ZIP's story has parts where it's so retarded it's funny, but it's not overall a funny read. Everything terrible about the story is introduced in the beginning and persists throughout, but it's not funny to hear the same joke. There needs to be new kind of stuff to laugh at, and this story doesn't have that.
An /exeg/ example is VoidCD. VoidCD is bad, but everything bad about is introduced in the beginning. You could argue it's "technically" better, but nobody fucking cares because it's LAME. I don't CARE. JC is at least unintentionally funny, but these people don't have that retarded genius he does. They will NEVER come up with randomly describing things in intense details, showing gore to random people, bookshelf jobbing, etc.
Also, JC had better taste than these people. The pedophile WINS! You can go through JC's Deviantart and Twitter to see what he likes, and at least he had variety; Paper Mario, Gotham, Full Metal Academia. All these trannys like the same shit: Undertale, Roblox, Sonic, FNAF. This is also probably why JC is a more entertaining writer

That's debatable for I only found Sonic.EXE a hilarious read but found The Inugami story shitty and the 2017 remake a snoozefest at best. The rest of the stuff from modern movies nowadays are either a hit or a miss, and I only found a few amusing to watch like Ice Cube's War of the Worlds. Like damn!

Now I shall express what I feel is a great reimagining of JC's story with BoomBuster's take on Sonic.EXE in autistic fashion due to this. What made this stand out for me back in the day is that it's takes the whole premise in a different fashion while not straying too far from the story and its animated fluidly with some hilarious slapstick moments. X is shown struggling to get his victims acting like he's godlike where he failed to get Tails, he got knocked out by Knuckles, and he wasn't able to get Robotnik while getting hurt in the process. It's less that Sonic.EXE gets hurt, but that it takes a funnier approach to the story that it makes it work out better by relying on comedic effects as a parody of the story. It's a fun watch if you like to see X get the short end of the stick, but I still think its one of the better Sonic.EXE media to this day.

That's better left to a script. The game already has all the information it needs with the grid, so why rely on collision shapes or raycasting?

The term "frame counter" probably isn't fully accurate for Godot, but I just mean having a timer that gets delta added to it on every process tick. So, in an autoload, you could have "global_timer += delta" in _process, and then if you have an object that you want to perform some behavior on every other frame, you have "if floori(Autoload.global_timer * frame_rate) % so_and_so_frames, then do_behavior". This is basically how you'll see older games handle synchronized behavior, except that Godot games should generally be independent of framerate.
