Holy shit just realized there's 15+ people actively playing my amateur solo dev project Pixurbia seemingly every day, it must be the same people coming back who discovered it when it first released. Got around 1800 plays total so far which actually kind of fucks my mind a bit thinking about that many people going through my game's world and having their own unique view of every part of it compared to me.

it needs better graphics. the very first demo he submitted I thought it looked cool as due to the level design asset he used. since then he has added lots of stuff to the game, but, its like janky stuff mostly so far except I think the out of cockpit stuff has some potential. the building and placing turrets is nice for enemies to make enemy behavior more varied but I'd prefer picking up a turret pickup to vanish it for score rather than collect and let me place. I don't want to place fucking turrets, this ain't an FPS tower defense and if it were I'd just play sanctum 2 instead. yeah anyway mostly I feel like its downhill since the first one purely just on the graphical aesthetics. He needs cool visuals I mean look at landsword it way more popular and it does look a bit cooler. (a)woken needs to have better looking environments. also the mechas should have dual shoulder knightmare cables and you can spiderman swing that'd be cool.

That's just being smart. The reason you're seething is because you didn't think of it and now if you do it you're making a clone.

Making smart use of an asset pack to make a good small scoped game is one of the fastest ways to find success as an indie.

I will break the cycle. However, only on one condition. That linux introduces full support for desktop.ini files, I will accept if they are called .desktop.ini to make them invisible by default seeing as linux filesystem doesn't have the +H attribute. Also, I think that .lnk files for similar should also be present. XDG .desktop files don't cut it. If linux will not bring desktop.ini files allowing me to rice out my filesystem collection and freely distribute it pre-riced-out in .zip archives, then they just aren't ready for the prime time (yet).

I was told that trenchbroom is based on boolean / CSG type stuff, so see if they have a cylinder primitive, and if so, see if you can use that to cut out an area with a circular ceiling, then add the walls and floor back in with rectangles.
otherwise, you are not actually using doom or quake or whatever, are you? You are using unity or godot? then just leave the cieling open and place a circular cieling in that spot in the game engine editor to noclip into that place of the loaded trenchbroom meshes. you could even place it inside trenchbroom somehow as you should find some kind of workflow where you can define props in the game engine that should export to trenchbroom as placeables, then in trenchbroom you can place a marker for it and it loads with the full asset in the game engine loaded the trenchbroom map, you'll need to figure that out to add enemies and ammo pickups and stuff from trenchbroom anyway

"simple" things like archways are a thing only map masters can do in the quake days, which is what trenchbroom is based on. I wouldn't waste a second on it, it's not what it was made for, using the wrong tool for the job. I been told that trenchbroom isn't meant to into curved geometry.
