Hammer, SA and IG feel like a GS with extra steps so not sure why I should play them. The lack of weapon identity really shows given all the counters. The worst part about all the counters is that if you don't use them 9* fights will take forever solo.

>>540717523out of boredom I conducted a bit of testing to see what should I bring for omega and the result is actually not bad for CB (raw blast artian). if you look at CB graph it is the highest burst damage with the biggest sustained DPS combo. Maintaining buffs is somewhat unintuitive and mode swap/guardpoint takes time to get use to but having high burst + fixed SAED damage that ignore hzv is very practical in end game hunts as mons are resistant to knockdowns (which is why spread having broken dps is actually not that broken, as they can rarely maintain that kind of dps vs anything that have shitty hitzone not to mention endgames mon can cart gunners in 1 hit)GS even without offset is very comfy because damage isnt backloaded into TCS. Even offset is not very useful later into the hunt other than to activate counterstrike and maybe maintain red health for resentment.my raw DB is unoptimized (I dont like DB), with good set and element it'd easily be among top 3 blademastersSnS is strong with guardslash >perfect guard, most consistent dps in the game. Also widerange to haul asses in multiplayer is useful.GL used exclusively charged wide. WFx2, 3 full charge, repeat. comfy, dont care about hzv, ignore big hits, easy buffer guard. DPS is mid but it is for when I want to get anything killed.

I only played FFXIV at the insistence of friends at the end of Shadowbringers and into Endwalker's release. The only other FF games I've played are Tactics Advance, 7, 10, 10-2, 12, and 13. I don't get why FF fans are hyped for Omega.

Sword form you deal high damage, at the cost of mobility, granted, you do have a counter. Sword form uses up a switch Gauge, which needs Axe Form to recharge. Charging your Sword Gause allows you to deal even more damage, and gain access to two strong moves, ZSD which latches onto the monster, and FRS which deals a ton of damage in general. Switch Axe would have better identity if Tokuda wasnt a fuckwit and reverted SA back to how it was in World, which was Power Phial 99% of the time. Rise buffing Element Phial and Exhaust Phial and allowing you to have more freedom with your options was the best, why Tokuda hates free thinking is beyond me.
