My opinion on Uchikoshi's contributions is that he brought a lot of cool ideas, but turned in kind of half-assed work. Like a C+ student that you know could do better. It passes, it's still Uchikoshi, he's never gonna write something actively terrible, he just has too much experience, but you can't help but wonder what happened. Was he rushed? Did he spend too long organizing the rest of the game? Was he just not feeling particularly inspired? Was his style too much of a clash with the game he was working on? Hard to say.

My headcanon has always been that they aren't "clones" of Shion so much as they are artificial beings that use his DNA as a base, but only as a base and mostly the parts relevant to cryptoglobin. The rest was filled in with random genetic stock from captured futuran samples.This explanation fits better with what we see in-game, where none of them look like him and they aren't all male. That imbalance influences their relationships. That's why the best course of action is to never bring up time travel. Hiruko learned that the hard way apparently. >>540893697I think the problem is that although there are times when the SDU has reason not to trust Takumi, when they do so out of sheer stupidity, they never seem to pay for their mistake or work to rectify it, unlike Takumi, who always has to bear the consequences of his mistakes. Just look at CoA: they can put Takumi in a cage because of the tattoo nonsense, or half the group can abandon Takumi. In neither case does it feel like there is a resolution. With the cage, it's because it's an ending, but with the abandonment, nothing ever comes of it, they just say they made a mistake, and no one in the group who didn't abandon Takumi has conflicting feelings towards them.

Now that I think about it, how would a Hundred Line anime even work? Adapt just route 0? Kinda a waste considering just how good the other chapters are. But if you adapt any of the other routes without adapting route 0, you're going to miss a lot of context...I can see them adapting certain routes as OVAs similar to the Nagito OVA, like Romance, KG, Retsnom.Maybe just straight up make a new route might be a better idea? Or something set in the universe of THL like Cyberpunk. But then we run the risk of just getting DR3 2.0 again (I'll kill myself if that ever happens)
