Sf6 made huge improvements for player retention and to attract new players, tekken tried to do the same but their execution was a lot sloppier. Tekken 8 is still an immensely successful and popular game in the FGC but that just goes to show how huge sf6 truly is, many streamers outside the FGC have streamed sf6 and some even started organising their own tournaments with sponsors and all that. We will never see the same with tekken because Bamco is a much more passive, profit driven company. Capcom is also of course profit driven but they took a lot of risks and made a BOATLOAD of fanservice by releasing old games collections and some are even playable through sf6, and some of those are FREE!. Meanwhile tekken gets no collection, no meaningful fanservice, garbage passes that are meant to increase player retention, paid stages that are not included in the most expensive versions of the game and can't be bought through in game currency (unlike sf6 where they cost 5k drive tickets which can be earned in game).
